Translation
On the day when We summon them all to one place, and when We will tell those who associated partners with Allah; “You and the things you associated as partners, stay in your place”, We have separated them entirely (from their idols). And their associates (idols) will say; “You were not worshipping us.”
Tafsir
Allah will gather them on the Day of Reckoning. Those who associate partners with Allah and their partners will be told to wait in their places. Their partners here are the inanimate idols created by Allah, which do not know anything about themselves, and which those who associate partners with Allah have made with their own hands. These idols will also be told to wait in their places. Just as Allah, through the art of knowledge, gave miracles to the Prophets and made the trees, mountains, stones, animals and the dead speak, so in the Hereafter, Allah will give these idols a language and they will testify against those who associate partners with Allah.
By making these idols testify against those who associate partners with Allah, He will separate between them and the idols, that is, He will make these idols speak, and He will distinguish between the righteous and the unrighteous. These idols will say: You were not worshipping us.
The meaning of the idols' saying this is that we were beings who were ignorant of ourselves, while you were human beings who were endowed with intellect and were addressed to the Essence of Allah. We were Allah's creatures, given under your orders, and you knew and realized better than we did that we did not know that you worshipped us. So you know that there is an Allah who created you and yet you knowingly worship us. They will say it was your hatred and arrogance against Allah.
Those who associate partners with Allah will no longer have a single word to say against Allah. Then their heads will fall before them. O man! Will you still not give up your ego and use your intellect, even though Allah (swt) has made His verses so clear and clear that people can understand them?
What is said in the video
Surah Yunus, verse 28: the day We gather them all together — in fact all people will be gathered together, the unbelievers too, (?), those who ascribe partners to Allah — when it says 'the day We gather them all together', here He will now gather all people together. Then to those who ascribe partners to Allah: you and the partners you ascribed, wait in your place, they — wait in your place — the day We say that, We have then completely separated them from their idols. And their partners, their idols, say: it was not us you worshipped. Now here there is another beautiful meaning. What does it say here? Then to those who ascribe partners to Allah: you and the partners you ascribed, in your place wait.
Why does He make them wait? All the people there — He is holding the reckoning of those who will enter Paradise. First, (?), He sends those servants of His to the highest Paradise. Who is left behind? The riff-raff. Take petroleum, for example. Petroleum. What comes out of petroleum? Aviation fuel. Then car petrol. Then lamp oil. Then diesel. Then kerosene. Then tar. So these are the tar. These are the slag. Fit to be crushed, sir, to be run over — such people. The others are useful. This tar is useful too, but tar is useful by being crushed. By being crushed. Yes. Now, Paradise is in degrees anyway, and Hell is in degrees too.
Then these slags — first the good ones are reckoned, they go to the highest Paradise. After that, it's their turn. That slag. The people from whom His mercy has been lifted. So what does it say? The day We gather them all — all people We gather — then to those who ascribe partners to Allah, that is, those in shirk, those who follow separate ideologies outside Islam, those who in Allah's books make changes, and with rabbis and priests, for a few pennies, change Allah's verses and say 'Allah said thus' — what does Allah Almighty say? To those who ascribe partners: you and the partners you ascribed, wait in your place.
They waited.
What happens in the time in between? The Muslims are reckoned and settled in the Paradises. Then He turns — the day We say 'wait', We have then completely separated them from their idols, it says. Then when We turn to them, their partners, the idols, say: it was not us you worshipped. Indeed. Now, as a human, you, a human, shape this, you attach horns to it, or you put it into the form of your own imagination, and you worship it. Would it even know about this? There's no life in it, no soul, no mind. (?) a mind. So then, tomorrow at the Great Tribunal, what will this idol say? Allah Almighty will give it a tongue.
The One who created you from nothing is capable of all things. What will it say? I had no idea you were worshipping me. You weren't worshipping me. Well then, whom were you worshipping? You were (?) your own nafs. You were actually worshipping yourself and Satan. Yes.
'You weren't worshipping me,' it says. Because it knows nothing of itself.
The truth came to you. A prophet came to you, scholars came. They told you about your Creator, your Lord. They told you of your provision. They proved to you the Creator of the universe. Out of the pride of your nafs, the whims of your nafs, you could not turn to Allah. By your own wishes and desires, what your own hands made pleased you. By worshipping it you (?) your own nafs. So you could say, you worshipped not that idol but your own nafs.
Yes. Hodja, here — just as Allah Almighty makes the bodies speak when the souls are paired — can He make those idols speak here too? Yes. Of course. Just as He shapes the earth and creates the body of our father Adam, and after giving it the spirit, gives life to that earth and makes it speak, for Allah Almighty to make a tree, a stone or any matter speak is far easier. Yes.
What does it say? And their partners, the idols, say: it was not us you worshipped. They speak the truth.
On that Day of Reckoning, Allah will gather them. Look, all people will be gathered anyway. To those who ascribe partners to Allah, and to their partners, it will be said: wait in your place. Stay where you are. Here their partners are the lifeless idols, created by Allah, unaware of themselves, that those who ascribe partners to Allah made with their own hands. What are we explaining here?
It says to those who ascribe partners to Allah and to their partners: wait in your place. Here their partners, that is, those people's partners, are — created by Allah, unaware of themselves, made by the hands of those who ascribe partners to Allah — the lifeless idols. The meaning here is understood now, I suppose. That is, those who commit shirk turn the matter Allah created into idols, and they become their (?) partners.
To these idols too it will be said: wait in your place. Just as, by the art of His knowledge, Allah gave miracles to the prophets, bringing trees, mountains, stones, animals and the dead to life and making them speak, in the hereafter, too, Allah will give these idols a tongue, and against those who ascribe partners to Allah these idols will testify. Testify. So by making these idols testify against those who ascribe partners to Allah Almighty, He will separate them from the idols, that is, He will make these idols speak and separate right from wrong. These idols will say: it was not us you worshipped.
The meaning of the idols saying this: we were beings unaware of ourselves. You, however, were people endowed with reason, addressed by Allah Himself. We were servants created by Allah, placed under your command. That we were unaware of your worshipping us, you knew and understood better than us. So, knowing that there is one Allah who created you, your knowingly worshipping us comes from your grudge and arrogance against Allah, they will say. Those idols. So now those who ascribe partners to Allah will not have a single word left to say against Allah Almighty. In that case their heads will hang down.
So, O man! Although Allah Almighty states His verses in a way people can understand, so clearly and openly, still will you not give up your nafs and use your reason? Think. Yes.
