Or are they saying that he (Muhammad) made it up? Say; “If you are truthful, call anyone other than Allah whom you have power over and bring (all together) a chapter similar to it.”
Tafsir
Or do they say that Muhammad fabricated this Qur'an? Say to them, O Messenger: If you are truthful in what you say, then call all those who are able besides Allah, and bring together a surah like it. Even if all the creatures were to gather together and put their heads together, they would not be able to produce the like of a verse, much less a Surah.
Because the word of Allah is based on letters. The coming together of the letters in the Holy Quran forms a Verse. This in itself shows us a path. In addition, in every Ayat, Allah declares the existence of His Essence. When the letters of each Ayat come together, many meanings occur in that Ayat. The first and second, third, seventh, seventy-seventh, seventy-seventh and many more meanings emerge. In this respect, the Prophet (PBUH) said in one of his hadiths, "He used to repent for his miscarriage seventy times a day". This means that he used to receive seventy meanings of each verse in one day, and when he received the third, fifth, and higher meanings of each verse, he would see that he was incomplete and incorrect compared to the previous verse, and he would repent and ask Allah for forgiveness.
There are people who speak with the combination of random letters and can only make speeches that can only express what they want to express, and even more, they cannot express their wishes and desires because their language is not enough and they cannot find a word equivalent for their wishes and desires. In the face of this situation, Allah (swt) clearly informs people that they cannot speak in exchange for a single verse, let alone a Surah of Allah, and yet these people will not understand that Allah is the Truth, the Qur'an is the Truth, and the Prophets are the Truth after having been given so many miracles and examples?
What is said in the video
Verse 38. Of Surah Yunus, verse 38: Or did Muhammad invent it, do they say? Then, if you are truthful, call upon whomever you can besides Allah and together bring a surah like it, He says. Gather all your strength besides Allah. Humans and jinn. What I mean by besides Allah — concerning the angels. Gather whatever there is. Bring a surah to match it. Al-Kawthar is the shortest surah; come on, bring a surah to match it, say three sentences; this is not possible. Why is it not possible? Now:
We have given, He says.
Some say Kawthar is a pool in Paradise.
Whereas Kawthar — to the Prophet who came as a mercy to the worlds, (peace be upon him), all good things, the head of them, is what He gave.
In this case, which good will you give to someone? Which good? Perhaps you help someone — one good, two goods. And that, too, with what Allah has given. But Allah Almighty, the head of all goods, the goods of the future and the past, to his intercession He will grant. The past too, of course? By his interceding for their prophets, their communities are interceded for. Yes. In this case, let us say not this, but that He gave Kawthar in Paradise, a pool — what have you created, that you will give a pool? Besides Allah, if you gathered all (?), what could you do?
Now worship your Lord and sacrifice, He says. Every verse, every verse — that Allah Almighty, His being, is the Creator, that there is no god but Allah, that He is the absolute power and owner of all the worlds, Allah proves, because. Here too: sacrifice. What does it say? Now worship your Lord and sacrifice. There is no god besides Allah that one should serve. Here too He speaks of Himself. Surely the one truly cut off is the one who (?) you, He says. Who is this? The polytheists. We saw an abtar, he says. Abtar. That is, those whose line is cut off. The Arabs say abtar. (?) I gave you your community, He says.
Your community — at the head of the goods, I gave them to you, He says. Your community is yours, He says. Those who are cut off — it is their line that is cut off, He says. Those who say so to you. Why? His mercy in the universe is for everyone; in the hereafter only for the believer. There, those deprived of Allah's mercy will be left with no one, alone. These are the ones who are cut off.
Yes.
Or do they say Muhammad invented it? Say: if you are truthful, call upon whomever you can besides Allah and all together bring a surah like it. Impossible. Moreover, Allah Almighty's word is built upon letters. For example Alif Lam Mim, Ta Ha, Ya Sin — these are the muqatta'at verses. No one can give them a meaning. Their knowledge is with Allah. Only those in whose hearts there is a disease, He says, try to give them a meaning, efendim. Those who have sickness, He says, sickness in their hearts. In this case its knowledge belongs to Allah alone, He says. If these are built upon letters — words like Alif Lam Mim, Ta Ha, Ya Sin — if Allah Almighty's word is built upon letters, by these verses coming side by side Allah Almighty both proves His being — in every verse He proves His being, that there is no god besides Him — and to people shows a way, teaches them, holds a light before them.
And perhaps, in those letters coming side by side, a secret of creation arises. In coming side by side. These are a formula. Formula. For example, how does water come about? Two hydrogens, one oxygen. They combine, water comes about. So these verses, these letters, coming side by side to form a verse, both hold a brightness, a light before us, and become a proof. And perhaps, by these letters coming side by side, a formula comes about. That formula belongs to Allah. Because the keys of the unseen are in Allah's hand. He who has that power of creation has laid this out before us with that formula.
Find it in between. And it is not possible for me to find it. Why is it not possible for me to find it? He has limited our reason. He has left it at a certain point. It is not possible for us to go beyond it. In this case, since the secret of creation is also in the Quran — the wet and the dry are in the Quran, He says, because. Allah Almighty also says in His verse: in Our hand is a book preserved in the Lawh al-Mahfuz. After that nothing is added and nothing taken away, He says. So the wet and the dry are in the Quran, everything is in the Quran. In this case no person — let us not say no person: humans and jinn, if the whole world gathered, they could not bring the like of a single surah apart from Allah.
Or do they say Muhammad invented this Quran? My beloved, say to them: if you are truthful in your word, call upon whomever you can besides Allah and together bring a surah like it. Even if all creatures could gather together and put their heads together, still not a surah — they cannot produce the like of a single verse. Because Allah's word is built upon letters. The coming together of the letters in the Holy Quran forms a verse. This in itself shows us a way. Moreover, in every verse Allah announces the existence of His being. So when the letters of each verse come together, in that verse many meanings arise. First and second, third, seventh, seventieth and more meanings appear. For this reason the Prophet (peace be upon him), in a hadith: I would repent seventy times a day for my shortcoming, he says. Seventy times. Can the one who came as a mercy to the worlds have a shortcoming?
His shortcoming is before Allah Almighty. Because He says: I have forgiven your past and future sins. What is his shortcoming? You took one meaning of the verse. Its second meaning, compared to the first, is faulty and lacking. Its third meaning, compared to the second, is faulty and lacking. The fiftieth meaning, compared to the 49th, is faulty and lacking; the 70th meaning, compared to the 69th, is faulty and lacking. He sees his own fault.
A person perhaps cannot grasp the meaning of one verse all his life. All his life. A person, even one called a scholar, perhaps all his life of the verses can grasp only a few meanings. Can you imagine the state of the Prophet, who grasped seventy meanings of a verse every day? Yes. In this case, of the verses their recitation or their meanings, if opened from the target, that is, from the centre, like a stone thrown into the sea spreading wave by wave, circle by circle, it surrounds man from every side. From all four sides, 360 degrees, it takes man within. And it opens man's horizons so much, horizon opening horizon, that the person feels the worlds beneath his feet.
Yes.
This is a wisdom Allah gives to man, a feeling, His raising him, feelings of the heart. Ahmed (?) Hazrat says: there are such people that their one moment's, he says, one moment's state — if you gathered all people together, you could not make them grasp that one moment's state, he says. They cannot grasp it. Therefore, if the meanings of the verses are opened from the essence, they go to very deep meanings. Deep. For this reason no person, or no created being, is able to bring the like of a verse.
What are we saying? In the verses many meanings arise. First and second, third, seventh, seventieth and more meanings appear. For this reason the Prophet (peace be upon him), in a hadith: he would repent seventy times a day for my shortcoming, he says. Its meaning is that every day he grasped seventy meanings of each verse; third, fifth meanings — that is, when he grasped a higher meaning of each verse, (?) verse he sees it is lacking and faulty. Because of this he would repent and seek forgiveness from Allah. So, that people speak through the coming together of (?) letters, and can only make speech that conveys their intentions, and moreover their language falls short and they cannot fully find words for their wishes and desires, there are things they cannot express.
Now, here it says, he would repent and seek forgiveness from Allah. The topic passed here. He sees it is lacking and faulty. Because of this he would repent and seek forgiveness from Allah.
Our mother Aisha — the Prophet would pray until morning. And would repent and seek forgiveness a great deal.
O Messenger of Allah, Allah Almighty forgives your past and future sins. With praying so much, with repenting so much, you are, she says, destroying yourself, wearing yourself out, she says. Upon that he says: O Aisha, shall I not be a servant who worships his Lord much and seeks forgiveness much? he says. Yes. Allah Almighty, who created people lacking and faulty, with the shortcomings people commit, expects them to return to their Lord and ask Him for pardon and forgiveness. This is repentance and seeking forgiveness. In its finest example, Hz. Jonah fled from his people and jumped into the sea — that is, when they threw him into the sea; they draw lots for him.
The lot for the sea falls on him. They throw him into the sea. A fish swallows him. For forty days he travels in the fish's belly. And then he realizes his error. He repents and seeks forgiveness from Allah Almighty. Lâ ilâhe illâ ente sübhâneke innî küntü mine'z-zâlimîn. I have wronged my nafs, O Allah, forgive me, he says. Upon that he comes out onto land. Yes. So, that people speak through the coming together of (?) letters, and can only make speech that conveys their intentions, and moreover their language falls short and they cannot fully find words for their wishes and desires, there are things they cannot express. (?), not a surah of Allah but one verse — that they cannot speak its equal — Allah Almighty clearly informing people of this: still these people, that Allah is true, the Quran is true, the prophets are true — after so many miracles and examples have been given, will they still not understand?
Yes.
