Say; “Even for myself, I don’t possess the power of harming or benefiting myself other than what Allah has wished for me. There is an ending to every nation. When their end comes, they will not stay an hour earlier, or later.”
Tafsir
Say, O Messenger, to those who ask you for punishment: Although I am the Messenger of Allah, I have no power to do myself any harm or benefit. Allah answers those who inscribe their fate, which is determined by the desires of people, to Allah and who do not know that no power other than Allah can change their fate, with this verse. Everyone's will is destined for him. No one can go beyond this destiny and disrupt Allah's providence. In this respect, man cannot put his finger on events that are within the will of Allah (swt). He cannot know the future of his destiny.
In this respect, those who ask for punishment from Allah (swt), if the wishes of some people were to be fulfilled with their egoistic and devilish feelings in a program programmed by Allah (swt), the order of these worlds would be disrupted, and Allah (swt) would be disgraced when people passed on to the Hereafter without being able to prove themselves. Although Allah (swt) declares that this programmed program will not be deviated from and that when the time comes, everyone will be punished for what they have done in this world and in the hereafter, every nation has a deadline and this deadline has a time. This time is human life. Human life is in accordance with one's destiny. The person bears witness to Allah with the actions they will commit within this destiny. He lives his life in accordance with his destiny, and when his time comes, even if he regrets his evil deeds, his life will not go back an hour or forward an hour.
What is said in the video
We are answering those who have questions.
Say: Even to myself, except what Allah wills, neither any harm nor any benefit do I have the power to bring. The Prophet (peace be upon him). What does he say? Now there is a subtle point here.
There is a distinction.
You will understand once I explain it. If I don't explain it, you will pin this on Allah. Hodja, could you read it once more before explaining it? Say: Even to myself, except what Allah wills, neither any harm nor any benefit do I have the power to bring.
Here there is a word that runs contrary to the word I said a moment ago.
What did I say? I said: we wish. According to our wishing. And here: Say, to myself. To whom? To (?) (peace be upon him), our master. Even to myself, except what Allah wills, neither any harm nor any benefit do I have the power to bring. Here: My Lord has educated me. He educated me well. According to this verse, because he is under our Lord's education, he uses this word.
That is particular to our master, Hodja. This is a word belonging to the Prophet. In this case a second meaning emerges here. A second meaning. So, in proportion to the covenants we gave earlier, whatever intention we put before our Lord, that intention of ours was written for us as destiny. It is not possible for us to change this with our own hands. Our matter is settled. This verse supports it as well. Unless We will, you cannot will. That is, it is according to your desires and wishes that your destinies We wrote. And accordingly We placed characters in you. When We send you to the world with these characters, desires and wishes will arise in you.
According to those desires and wishes, We will create events. This is Allah's attribute of being Allah. To all the people going on in this universe. Everyone, through their own actual deeds, what kind of people they are will prove. These desires and wishes, he says — to change them, it is not possible for you to change them, he says. Yes.
And he says: Say, even to myself, except what Allah wills, neither any harm nor any benefit do I have the power to bring. Every nation has an appointed term. Surely every soul will taste death, and our return is to Me, he says. When their term comes, they can neither stay behind an hour nor go ahead.
Why? Within the man's lifetime there is a covenant of the disbelievers in place.
In the end, even unwillingly, he said Lâ ilâhe illallah Muhammedün Resulullah once his guests had left. Let's say the man steps outside his covenant. Or else the man is a Muslim, as he says, and one month through Satan's temptation he says: what have I found in this Islam? Moreover, he went into disbelief. So how did the lifespan come about?
We know it well. How the lifespan comes about.
Every person has an intention. And Allah Almighty too has a (?) wish. So those superstition-mongers who point to that 142nd verse should listen carefully here.
These people have their covenant, their intentions, written for themselves as destiny.
Allah Almighty — that person, in (?) of this intention, in (?), within how many breaths he proves himself, Allah knows this.
He writes that number of breaths for that person as his lifespan. Here, when he says 'not an hour', he doesn't say 'not a breath'. Not one breath forward, not one breath back. When he says not an hour forward: by holding his breath, his life five minutes, ten minutes later, or by breathing very little, can move forward. But the number of breaths will be the same. In this case, so that there is no (?) at all in His word, Allah Almighty has put forward these — the breaths first, and also time, the hour. The man's heart stops, his breath has ended. Then they bring the man back to life with massage.
Here a progression of time occurs. But the number of breaths has not run out yet. He will take that breath. Yes. These people would probably be at a total loss here. In Allah's word there is no (?). That is why these superstition-mongers should listen to this well. That Allah is aware of everything.
Every nation has an appointed term. When their term comes, they can neither stay behind an hour nor go ahead.
My beloved, say to those who wish for punishment — those polytheists said to the Prophet (peace be upon him): if your religion is true, if you are on the true path, come on, they say, bring on the Day of Judgment. They ask for punishment upon us, they say. Give punishment. Rain stones from the sky upon our heads. So, say to those who wish punishment from you: although I am Allah's prophet, to myself I have no power to bring any harm or any benefit. Those who have their destinies, decreed by people's desires, written by Allah, who have their destinies written by Allah, and who cannot know that these destinies no power other than Allah can change — to them Allah Almighty answers with the verse.
Everyone's intention has become their destiny. No one can step outside this destiny and break Allah's decree. Therefore a person cannot put a finger on the events within Allah Almighty's intention, cannot know what lies ahead in his destiny. Therefore, those who ask Allah for punishment — if, regarding this program Allah has programmed, the wishes of some people, from carnal and satanic feelings, had been fulfilled, the order of these worlds would be disrupted, and when people passed on to the hereafter without proving themselves, Allah Almighty would be ascribed attributes. And this is a sentence corresponding to this verse.
If We had followed your whims, the heavens and the earth and what is between the two would collide and drown in corruption, he says. Yes.
While declaring that one cannot step outside this programmed program, that when the time comes everyone will be struck with worldly and otherworldly punishments for what they did, every nation has an appointed term, and this term has a time. And this time is the human lifespan. The human lifespan is proportionate to the person's destiny. As I said a moment ago. Proportionate to his destiny. As a result of the covenant he gave to Allah Almighty, he has the script for it written. Within how many breaths in the world this actor will play this script, that — Allah Almighty knows it. He writes that for him as his lifespan.
Yes. The human lifespan is proportionate to the person's destiny. With the deeds they carry out within this destiny, the person holds himself as witness before Allah. He fills his lifespan within his destiny, and finally when his term comes, for the evils he did, even if he feels regret, his life goes neither an hour back nor an hour forward. Yes.
