Translation

Then, the oppressors will be told; “Now! Taste the eternal punishment”. Will you find anything else but the return of what you have been earning?

Tafsir

Those who wronged their own souls by disbelieving in Allah and His Messenger will be told to taste the everlasting torment. The eternal torment here refers to those who have bought the life of the eternal abode of Hell because they do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter.

No soul bears the sin of any soul, nor the reward of any soul. Every soul will be rewarded for what it has done.

What is said in the video

In the second verse, 51–52. Yes, Surah Yunus, verse 52. Finally we read: Then to those who wronged themselves it will be said: taste the eternal punishment. Who are these who wronged themselves? Those who deny the Holy Quran which Allah Almighty, as a mercy to people, sent; those who deny the Seal of the Prophets, Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him), our master; those who eat and drink of the blessings Allah has given and rebel against Allah, who are ungrateful; those who, though the Creator offers people every kind of blessing, associate partners with their Creator — these are people unjust to their own selves.

Will you find a recompense other than for what you have been earning? says Allah Almighty. Today, so that no one is wronged, what each earned will be given to him in full as the recompense of his two hands — according to the verse in which He says this — people in the worldly realm, through the deeds they did, with the rewards and sins they earned, on the Day of Judgment in the great court — that day judgment belongs to Allah alone, according to the verse in which He says it — our Lord, who has no spouse, no partner, no helper, the deeds people did, the rewards and sins they earned, He will give them in full; people whose rewards exceed their sins will enter Paradise, and those whose sins exceed their rewards will enter Hell.

These will be divided into two groups. Those whose sins exceed their rewards but who are Muslims will stay there for a temporary time, until their nafs is perfected. Then they will come out of there. The second group are those whose nafs is not perfected, who are eternal dwellers of Hell, the disbelievers. These are the ones who suffer loss. Yes. To those who wronged themselves it will be said: taste the eternal punishment. So, those who wronged themselves. You know, in Allah Almighty's verse — those who misinterpret it for people and, saying Allah took revenge on him, ascribe attributes to Allah: Allah Almighty takes revenge on no one at all. He has no enmity toward people out of carnal feelings.

He treats all His servants equally. His mercy in the universe — everyone (?). In this case, because man wrongs himself, it is on his own self that he takes revenge. Look what He says next? To those who wronged themselves. How will he wrong himself? Allah Almighty created us so that His essence would be known. He created us as the noblest of creatures. He gave us of His spirit. Of His spirit. He did not separate us from His essence. He made us vicegerents in the world. He created each of us as a commander. He gave us command over the worldly realm. He offered man the disposal of it. But do not waste, He said.

In this case, if man rises up — this man created in such power — and turns his back on his Creator: today if a person does a good deed for a person and that person to whom the good was done wrongs him, takes revenge, kills him, or causes him suffering, that person, when he comes before a judge, is punished as guilty. In this case that person has wronged his own self. So too, although Allah Almighty gives people abundant provision in the worldly realm, from beneath the earth, from above the earth, and rains down provision from the heavens, if people rise up and are ungrateful to Allah Almighty, eat and drink what Allah gave and associate partners with Him, go to shirk, this person wrongs himself and takes revenge on his own self.

Yes. What does He say? Then to those who wronged themselves it will be said: taste the eternal punishment. Paradise and Hell are eternal.

Yes. Paradise and Hell are eternal.

In this case some people who don't know themselves, supposedly putting themselves in the place of (?), will report from the Quran, or, to curry favour with people, will say Paradise and Hell are not eternal.

On what basis does he say this? Even infinity has an end. Eternal — if it says eternal, that too has an end, he says.

That the eternal has an end — what does he understand by it, I wonder? Eternal is eternity. It goes on, I mean. Where to? To infinity. Where will you end this infinity? In Allah, who embraces infinity. He has embraced infinity. His first is merged with His last. In this case, when He says infinite, when He says eternal, since it subsists through His essence — as long as His essence will not cease, as long as it exists, Paradise and Hell are everlasting — this He proves here. This is eternity. Since Allah will not annihilate His own existence, since He subsists through His essence, since He has brought these worlds into being by the millions, perhaps (?), since however many (?) exist by themselves, since He Himself exists, since infinity too embraces Him, since He says pre-eternity and post-eternity, ve'l-evvelü ve'l-âhiru ve'z-zâhiru ve'l-bâtın, since He says pre-eternal and last, manifest and hidden, eternity subsists through His essence. As long as His essence exists, Paradise and Hell too exist eternally.

Against this, no one — people who, using some petty word, remove Paradise and Hell from eternity and, with some word games, try to take them out of eternity, display their own (?), display their (?) enmity.

Yes.

Each verse — they confirm each other for us, constantly, (?) with verses. It seems like just one verse, but: then those who wronged themselves — it says. Those wrongdoers are the ones who step outside Allah's command. Taste the eternal punishment, it will be said, in Hell. Hell's eternity subsists with Allah. Paradise and Hell. In this case, all the verses Allah has spoken, confirming one another, how vast our Lord's word is — and His word: if this were a human fabrication, many words not agreeing with each other would be found in it — they prove to us here. That it is not a human fabrication. And when we prove verses with verses, you cannot see any word of ours contradicting any word.

Yes. Because we don't speak outside the verses. If we had told the verses as we liked, then we too, as we liked, would by now have come out with many words for you that contradict one another. Right? Yes. Look, so many people listen to me. Not one of them: you said it like this, but this verse can't say that — if someone says so, he has misunderstood; we are explaining it. Yes.

We read the verse once more and move on. Then to those who wronged themselves it will be said: taste the eternal punishment. Will you find a recompense other than for what you have been earning? He says. Here too, Allah Almighty — e leysallâhu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn — as the Judge of judges, without discriminating among any of His creations, on the Day of Judgment too will give them what they earned in full. We explained this 'in full' to you a little. When we say 'in full', you will understand it like this: in full. For the disbelievers, in full. For the disbelievers it will be in full. For Muslims, what they earned will be in full.

In full, plus there are favours from our Lord's own essence, He says. This now goes beyond 'in full'. Sometimes — you may well ask me — Hodja, you say 'in full', but you say it is in full, yet when Allah Almighty's favour is added on top of this 'in full', doesn't it exceed 'in full'? If you put this question — so that you don't need to put this question, we split this 'in full' into two parts. Yes. We try to cut off the questions you would ask. Yes. I don't know if I can get it across. (?)

Those who wrong their own selves by denying Allah and His Messenger will be told: taste the eternal punishment. Eternal punishment. The eternal punishment here: because they did not believe in Allah and the hereafter, these are the ones who have bought the eternal life in the abode of Hell. Yes. When I say eternal punishment, the abode of punishment is Hell. And the abode of delight and pleasure is Paradise. The abode of bliss. Yes. People, in this world, take on the condition for Paradise and Hell — through the deeds they do. That's not right, Hodja. Why? Well, wasn't there the address Elestü bi-rabbiküm?

There, those who gave their covenant well, those who denied. Here: did you think that without proving yourselves, themselves, what kind of person you are, you would die? According to the verse. Since Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes — didn't you say: if You sent me to a realm where Your essence is not seen, I would worship You there? Since you said so, here is a hidden realm for you where His essence is not seen. Here, through the deeds people do, they will prove what kind of people they are. Based on what? Earlier, in the barzakh, at that address Elestü bi-rabbiküm, according to Surah Al-A'raf, verse 172 — of the covenant they gave, as a result, the destiny they had written for themselves and the characters placed in that spirit — their source, that is, their field, is the world.

He will sow here, mercy will rain, in that mercy it will sprout; whatever the seed is, it will reveal itself. In this case, if the seed is zaqqum, zaqqum; if pomegranate, pomegranate; if grape, grape — these will show themselves. Yes. Allah Almighty rains down His mercy, His mercy; He has each person start the worldly realm from zero; those places seen as a child — just as in a computer's memory you encrypt places you don't want to be seen, so Allah Almighty has encrypted these places in our brain.

The realm of the hereafter is not known. But it is in us. Because we have lived it.

In the world, according to the characters from there, Allah Almighty makes events appear for all these people. Events. In these events people turn their desires and wishes into actual deeds and earn rewards and sins. Can you grasp Allah's attribute of being Allah? He will make events appear in this universe. Each person will act through deeds according to his own desires and wishes, will prove what kind of person he is. Yes. These are Allah's attributes of being Allah; no one (?) will be able to question Him.

Will you find a recompense other than for what you have been earning? No soul bears either the sin or the reward of another soul. Every soul will find the recompense of what it did. Yes.
