Say; “By Allah’s grace and mercy, they shall rejoice with these. This is better than what they have been gathering (in worldly possessions).”
Tafsir
People boast of their worldly possessions to each other and rejoice in these worldly possessions. However, these worldly goods are items created for people to receive rewards and sins. They are also temporary blessings that people need while they live on earth within a certain life span. When people die, all the worldly goods they have earned go to their heirs. They cannot take even a particle of it to the Hereafter. Except what they spend and sacrifice for Allah. They carry that to the Hereafter as rewards. The property itself remains in the world.
When people give for the sake of Allah the wealth that they carry to the Hereafter as rewards, they will receive the mercy of Allah. Those who spend the wealth they gather in this world for their ego, and those who spend it for the sake of Allah are better off than those who spend it for the sake of Allah and cannot part with it out of greed for worldly goods.
If they have earned Allah's favor with the wealth they have spent for the sake of Allah, they can rejoice in the nearness of Allah. These are the people who have won from Allah the abode of eternal bliss and attained salvation. This is the situation to be happy about.
What is said in the video
Surah Yunus, verse 58. Say: only in Allah's grace and His mercy — in these let them rejoice. In Allah's grace and His mercy. This is better than what they gather as worldly goods. Allah's grace — what He made known to us through the Holy Quran, what is it that He made known? Let him rejoice in a good deed he has done, it says. His grace — with good deeds. And with His mercy: when that person gives charity in Allah's way, when he looks after the poor and needy, when he strives in Allah's way, when they help mosques and Quran courses,
these may hope to come under Allah's mercy. If we said they will enter, and a situation arose where the end was uncertain, we would be saying something wrong. They may hope. If it goes on that way, Allah's mercy is upon them. Yes. People boast to one another of the worldly goods in their hands and rejoice in these worldly goods. Yet these worldly goods are materials created so that people earn reward and sin.
Moreover, while people live on earth within a set lifespan, they are blessings they need temporarily. With people's death, all the worldly goods they earned remain to their heirs behind them. Death is real, inheritance is lawful, says Allah Almighty. Yes.
They cannot take even an atom of it to the hereafter. Except what they spent and gave in charity for Allah; that they carry to the hereafter as reward; the property itself stays in the world. That is, those who buy Paradise with their wealth and their lives, those who give charity with their wealth in Allah's way — although the property stays in the world, although Allah gives His servant what Allah created, although the servant gives it to Him in his Lord's way — that Allah Almighty takes back what He Himself created, and in return for that person's generosity gives him His Paradise, which He also created.
The greatness of Allah Almighty, that He needs nothing at all, and that the human knows the purpose of his creation and, while in the world, says 'Allah'. So the Prophet too says in a hadith: do not wish for death. Staying in the world for a moment is better than lying under the earth for a thousand years, he says. The reason? If you say 'Allah' once in the world — since Allah Almighty created you so that His essence be known, within your own partial will — since He created you so that Allah Almighty's essence be known, it is better than lying under the earth for a thousand years. For this reason, when they give for Allah the goods they carry to the hereafter, people attain Allah's mercy.
Those who spend the goods they gathered in the world on their nafs — than the goods not given for Allah, which they cannot part with out of greed for worldly goods, the goods spent for Allah are better. They are better. Also, Allah Almighty says this to such people in a verse: Those goods given to them, the yellow gold and silver they hoarded — those who hoarded out of greed — in Hell, it says, these will be heated and they will be branded with them, it says. Those who are stingy and do not give, who deify it and sit on it. Yes.
For this reason, when they give for Allah the goods they carry to the hereafter, people attain Allah's mercy. Those who spend the goods they gathered in the world on their nafs — than the goods not given for Allah, which, out of greed for worldly goods, they cannot part with, the goods spent for Allah are better.
If they have earned Allah's grace with the goods they spent for Allah, they may rejoice in this nearness of Allah. These are the people who win Allah's abode of eternal bliss and attain salvation. And this is the state that will bring joy. It is this state. That will bring joy. They are the victorious. Even if victory in the world brings a person pride, glory, fame, it is temporary. It all stays in the world. But true victory is the victory of the one who wins Paradise in the hereafter, who wins Allah's mercy. Yes.
