Tafsir
What do you think of your own making some of the sustenance that Allah has sent down to you lawful and some unlawful? Has Allah forbidden them to you? In the days of ignorance, people did not benefit from some animals and made them unlawful for themselves. This is explained in the one hundred and third verse of Surah al-Ma'ida in the second volume, on page seven hundred and seventy, and it would be useful for them to refer to it. Here we will mention their names without explaining them, and the names of the animals that they have forbidden to them are Bahira, Saiba, Vesile, Ham.
Has Allah permitted Him to make these animals unlawful for you? You make partners for Allah to your idols, which you have invented in your own minds, and you sacrifice animals to them in your own minds, or you make laws among yourselves, and what Allah has made lawful for you, you make unlawful for yourselves, and you make laws among yourselves, and you try to make these laws for Allah.
Or do you slander Allah by saying that Allah has informed us that these things are forbidden, when Allah has not told us?
What is said in the video
SURAH YUNUS VERSE 59: Say: What do you think of the provision Allah sent down to you, that you find part of it lawful and part of it unlawful? Say: Has Allah permitted you, or are you inventing lies about Allah? People, by their own minds, for the idols they worshipped, saying this is lawful, this is unlawful, used to make some things lawful and unlawful for themselves. And Allah Almighty answers them anyway. Allah Almighty: of your own accord you make part of it lawful and part of it unlawful.
That's it.
Come over here.
So, what do you say about making part of it lawful and part of it unlawful? Was it Allah who made these unlawful for you? In the age of ignorance, people would not make use of certain animals.
They made these animals unlawful for themselves. (?) Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse 103, in that verse, on page 770, we said these are explained. They are explained. It is useful for them to refer to it. Some of these animals are sabiha. And some are ham. There is one more. If we read this in (?) Surah Al-Ma'idah, we will have (?). Now, let's see what it says here.
Allah has not ordained any such thing as bahire, sahibe, vesile and ham, it says. (?) What is bahire? In the age of ignorance, a camel that had given birth five times and whose fifth young was male — they would slit its ear and set that camel free. They would never again make use of that camel. Such a camel they called bahire. Bahire. This is the state of the Arabs in the age of ignorance. They make it unlawful for themselves. What is saiba? Sahiba are camels vowed to idols, in the name of idols, as an offering. A wish was made of the idols, and in return, when their wishes came true, they would donate a camel to that idol.
When these people's wishes came true, they would release that camel and make it unlawful for themselves ever again to make use of that camel. And this was called sahiba.
Vesile are sheep set aside for the idols. If a sheep bore a female, it belonged to its owner. If it bore a male, it was sacrificed to the idols. If the sheep bore one female and one male, they would say the female has joined her brother, and they would not sacrifice that male. How nicely they make things up. The things they make up, the things! And ham is a male camel from whose loins ten camels were born; its back was considered forbidden. That is, they set it free and loaded no burden on it. Every pasture and water was free to it. And when it died, women and men ate of its meat. From the carcass, that is. Oh dear. Yes.
We have written it here as well. Here too, in explaining these, we will just list their names. The names given to the animals they made unlawful for themselves are bahire, sahibe, vesile, ham. We have explained them. So, did Allah permit you to make these animals unlawful?
You make laws as you please. You (?) it to Allah, saying He made it unlawful for us. Associating partners with Allah in your idols, which you invented by your own minds, again by your own reasoning sacrificing animals to them, or, by laws you yourselves have set, counting as unlawful for yourselves what Allah made lawful for you, making laws among yourselves, these inventions of yours to Allah you (?). Or, though Allah did not say it, are you slandering Allah by saying that these are unlawful for us, that Allah decreed it?
These are, let's say, people who show who they are, people whose colours are clear. Who are they? Idolaters. Is there nothing like this in Islam today? He has a mascot in his hand. He considers his mascot a lucky charm. In fact, because he considers that mascot a lucky charm, I witnessed this myself. He rubs it on his private parts, and when he rubs it, it supposedly brings him luck. How is a person who believes like this any different from this idolater?
Yes.
