Translation

And they said; “We depend on Allah. Oh, our Lord! And do not make us a matter of test for that nation of oppressors”.

Tafsir

The Jewish people who believed in Hazrat Moses (peace be upon him) said: Yes, we have relied and trusted in Allah, and we ask Allah not to make us humiliated by them. That they may not mock us along with Allah in whom we believe, and that they may not make us taste oppression by humiliating us even more in the presence of this group of wrongdoers. May they not maintain their superiority over people by being arrogant against the true Allah, whom the transgressor Pharaoh introduced himself as Allah. They insulted us, saying that if the God you believe in had existed, He would have saved you and helped you, so that He would not force us to turn away from our religion.

What is said in the video

And they said: We have relied on Allah; our Lord, do not make us a trial among that wrongdoing people, it says. A trial. Do not make us a trial for them. Do not let us be humiliated among them. That is, by them ruling over us, do not test us any more together with those who are patient, it says. Do not, it says. We have already believed in You. Because we have believed, now, it says, against them, by making us suffer at their hands, do not put us to the test, they say. Do not. What does it say? And they said to them: We have relied on Allah. Our Lord, do not make us a trial among that wrongdoing people.

We have been crushed as much as we could be already, O Allah, they say. They have loaded on us as heavy a burden as they could. From now on, it says, do not make us a trial against him. We trust in You, we say. They leave the decree to Allah. The Jewish people who believed in Moses (peace be upon him) said: We have relied on Allah and trusted in Him. What we ask of Allah Almighty is that He not let us be humbled by them. Let them not mock us along with Allah, in whom we believe unseen, and let this wrongdoing people not humiliate us even more and make us taste oppression. Let Pharaoh, who exceeded all bounds and presented himself as god, against the true Allah growing arrogant, not (?) over the people.

Insulting us, saying: if the Allah we believe in existed, He would save you, we would help you, let us not be forced to turn from our religion, they said. That is, we have been patient as much as we could. We will still be patient, but now do not let this wrongdoing people, ruling so much over you, reach the point of exceeding all bounds, O Allah, they say. That is, they are making a kind of prayer.
