(Oh Prophet!) Say; “Pray to the ones that you claim (to be deities) other than Allah. But they will not be able to distance any of your calamities nor change them!”

Tafsir

Allah (swt) throws another light in front of the people. Say, My Messenger, if you leave Allah, the One who created you, and there is no God but Him, and call upon those whom you think to be gods, they will not be able to take away your distress, nor will they be able to change it. For they too are Allah's creatures in need of Allah. In fact, those who shape inanimate beings with their hands, make idols, and worship them by standing in front of these idols, those who make desires and requests from these idols made with their hands out of stone and earth, where there is no life, life and mind, and who are ignorant of themselves, and those who beg them, is the most honorable creation of human beings becoming the mascot of the cursed devil. These beings they worship are unaware of themselves. They can neither harm nor benefit themselves.

But Allah, Who created the universe and is the guarantor of the sustenance of His creatures, is all-knowing. He knows His creations very well. If man turns to his Lord and asks Him, the unknown doors of Allah will be opened for people.

Those who turn their faces away from those who are ignorant of themselves, those who turn their backs on Allah, will neither benefit nor harm from what they worship. But they become disbelievers because they turn their backs on Allah. The idols they worship can neither relieve people's distress nor change them.

What is said in the video

My Messenger, say: Call upon those you claim to be gods besides Allah. But they can neither remove your distress nor change it, it says.

When people made their covenant with Allah Almighty in the first barzakh, they denied Allah Almighty. They expected the Lord of their own imagination. So, toward Allah Almighty, even though Allah Almighty created them, the people, our souls, they turned to denial. So Allah Almighty, with them, with that denial of theirs, made the covenant, and in His verse addressed them as lying disbelievers. Indeed, in one verse He even says they will not be able to see their Lord. In one verse as well. So these people, bringing to life the beings of their own imagination — that is, picturing their Lord as if there were supposedly a god other than Allah, picturing the Lord who created them as they imagined Him — carving stones or wood that they shaped with their hands and giving them form, worshipped what they had shaped.

We call them idolaters, and Allah Almighty is addressing them. Say: Call upon those you claim to be gods besides Allah. That is, He is addressing the idolaters. But they can neither remove your distress nor change it. These lifeless beings neither hear them, that is, hear you speaking, nor can they give you an answer, nor do they understand you. They have neither reason, nor life, nor soul. So we will call these people senseless; they supposedly deceive their own nafs like this: we do not worship them, we worship the spirit that has entered into it. That is, he gives form to the shape in his own imagination.

However he wishes — the Lord who created him, a non-existent Lord — however he wishes, he gives it a form. Then he brings its spirit and puts it inside it, in imagination, and with the world of imagination he worships. Imaginings. People who have become Satan's playthings. So they themselves have done wrong to their own souls. Allah Almighty holds yet another light before people. What is it? That there is no god but His Self — this is what Allah Almighty is trying to put into practice. (?) if you leave Allah, who created you, the One besides whom there is no god, and implore those you suppose to be gods, they can neither remove your distress nor change it.

Yes, let's put two letters here. They can neither remove your distress nor change it. Because they too depend on Allah; they are Allah's creations. From the earth to the spheres, every created being has been created by Allah.

Indeed, shaping lifeless things with their hands, they make idols, and standing before these idols and worshipping them — those who, from these idols, unaware of themselves, without life, soul and reason, which they made with their hands from stone and earth, make wishes and requests, who implore them — the most honored of creations, man, falls into being the laughingstock of the accursed Satan, and they become wretched people who wrong their own souls. These beings they worship know nothing of themselves. They can bring them neither harm nor benefit.

But Allah, who created the universe and guarantees the provision of His creatures, is aware of everything. He knows His creations very well. If man turns to his Lord and asks of Him, Allah's unknown doors will be opened to people. So people who heedlessly turn their faces toward such things unaware of themselves, who turn their backs on Allah, get from what they worship neither benefit nor harm. But because they turn their backs on Allah, they become disbelievers. And the idols they worship can neither relieve people's distress nor change it.
