(Remember) when your Lord revealed to you; “Your Lord has encircled mankind!” We projected (shown) those visions for you and the tree that was damned; To make people witnesses (against themselves). We frighten them but this only makes them anything but go more astray.
Tafsir
Allah (swt) has encompassed not only human beings, but all the worlds, the seven layers of the heavens and the Throne of Allah. When Allah (swt) says that He has encompassed human beings, it means that He has encompassed the human beings who have the will in their hands, and He has encompassed all the worlds. If He has encompassed those whose will is in His hands, He has already encompassed those whose will is not in His hands. That is why he said, "Your Lord encompasses mankind.
It was from this siege that He showed some events to His Messenger, and He showed him some realms. According to some commentators, they say that they are images from the events of miraj. In this verse, however, Allah (swt) is not talking about miraj, but about dreams. One of the twenty-four faculties in which prophets grow is the dream world. This is how He encompasses those realms that He has shown through the realm of dreams, encompassing people all around, and how He showed the image of this to His Messenger personally.
Prophets, who have been raised with the knowledge of Allah, understand Allah's word better and fear Allah more than people and love Allah more than people. The fact that he mentions the oleander tree in Hell and calls it cursed is meant to draw people's attention and to make them think.
The oleander tree has a vegetative life and life because it has no mind and life. Those who have no mind and no life are not responsible to Allah. Those who are not responsible are not subject to Allah's curse. Allah (swt) will keep the oleander tree in Hell just to test people. Who will envy this tree and love it, taking pride in its name. And the tree of oleander, which Allah has cursed, he will abhor and shun it because Allah has cursed it.
Allah (swt) has done this as a test for people. We see it in our time, people are proudly using the name oleander to create an atmosphere. According to the hadith of the Prophet (PBUH), the oleander tree will be in hell, and the person will be there with the one he loves.
If a person takes pleasure in doing what Allah (swt) does not like and does not want, he should fear himself and know that he has fallen away from the mercy of Allah (swt).
Allah (swt) wants to guide people by frightening them with the torment of Hell and miracles. He wants to save people from torment, to prevent them from following Shaytan and taghut, and to turn them to the Truth. But some people, in the face of these miracles and frightenings, increase their disbelief and whip up their unruliness, even though they have seen all these events.
If a question comes to our minds as to why these miracles and people's trials are increasing their rebellion, even though Allah (swt) knows that they will increase their rebellion, we will say in reply that Allah (swt) is exempt from any imperfect attributes. On the Day of Judgment, on the Day of Reckoning, when people see the torment of hell, they will say, "O Allah! He creates these events so that they will not say, "O Allah, if only you had shown us miracles, if only you had frightened us, we would not have committed these evils. In addition, people who have faith in Allah (swt) take lessons from these events and strengthen their faith in Allah (swt) and refrain from committing evil deeds. In this way, Allah (swt) will prevent people from asking questions of Allah (swt) by creating actual events that will make people's questions to Allah (swt) come to life and prevent people from asking questions of Allah (swt). This is the attribute of Allah's Godhood. No one can ask Allah any question or inquiry. Because whatever he is going to ask will be realized and people will be tested by what they have done and will give an account for it.
What is said in the video
Verse 60 of Surah Al-Isra is also a verse that has been rendered wrongly. Let's see how it was rendered wrongly and which part was rendered wrongly.
We're reading the wrong one. It's already marked in red here. "Remember when We told you: your Lord has encompassed people all around. The visions We showed you and the tree cursed in the Quran We brought about only to test people," it says here. Now look, just look at the error. Are they ascribing attributes to Allah or not? "To test people" — so now Allah Almighty doesn't know, of these people, what they will do in their destinies, He doesn't know. He doesn't know. And as we said earlier, according to people's states, according to which state — Allah Almighty doesn't know whether those people, if good, are good and will later turn bad, if bad, bad. Now He will test these people and find out what they are.
What does it say? "We brought it about to test." "We frighten them, but it brings them nothing but great transgression," it says. Now we read the correct one. Look. Remember when We told you: your Lord has encompassed people all around. The visions We showed you and the tree cursed in the Quran, only to make people witnesses to themselves of what kind of people they are, did We bring about. Do you see? So that they bear witness to what kind of people they are. Those cursed trees — what they will do, what they will get up to. Allah Almighty — we know. But because of Allah Almighty's attributes of Godhood, on the Day of Resurrection no human will be able to question Allah Almighty.
That is, not because Allah Almighty frightens them. Everything they would ask will have come to pass in the world, and what kind of people they are will become evident. Whatever there might be to ask, in answer to all of it he will see that he himself is at fault and deficient, and will be left with no question. Yes. So what is it now? So that they themselves witness what kind of people they are, We brought it about. Not to test. To make them witnesses. This part is meaning. Since it is not in the Arabic wording, that meaning is in parentheses. Which one? To make them "(of what kind of people they are, to themselves)" — close parenthesis — witnesses, We brought it about.
We frighten them, but it brings them nothing but great transgression. Yes.
Allah Almighty has encompassed not only people but all the worlds, the seven layers of the heavens and even the Throne of Allah (?).
Allah Almighty saying He encompassed people — that among His creations He encompassed all around the people who hold their partial will — that He encompassed all the worlds: that is what it means. If He encompassed those whose will is in their own hands, then those without a will of their own He has already encompassed. That is why: remember, your Lord has encompassed people all around, He had said. That is, if He programmed all these worlds according to His own will, and people too He programmed according to His own will — programmed according to His own will — people — if people themselves had their own intentions, their own wishes and desires programmed by Allah Almighty, then in that case if Allah Almighty encompassed them all around too — the others anyway He Himself has encompassed all around — if He encompassed the people whose will He left free too, then He has encompassed the worlds anyway.
Yes. He is thus the Lord of the worlds.
Yes.
So, from this encompassing, to show His Beloved certain events, before he even came into the world, to the Prophet — that is, "We told you your Lord has encompassed people all around" — He showed him certain worlds. For example, in the verse "remember" — He had shown him before he came into the world, and now to this He says "remember". So, from this encompassing, to show His Beloved certain events, He showed him certain worlds. According to some commentators, these were scenes from the events of the Mi'raj, they say. In this verse, however, Allah Almighty, not of the Mi'raj but of a dream, is speaking. One of the 2400 in which the prophets were raised is the world of dreams.
So those worlds He showed through the world of dreams — His encompassing people all around — that is, His showing the image of this personally to His Beloved. Yes. Prophets raised with Allah's knowledge, understanding Allah's word better, fear Allah much more than people do and love Allah much more. Meanwhile, His mentioning the Zaqqum tree in Hell and calling this tree cursed is to draw people's attention and to lead people to reflection.
Yes.
Let me give you this.
The Zaqqum tree exists. And since the Zaqqum tree will grow from Hell, in Hell, its fruit, it says, is gnarled. It is like Satan's head, it says. And its fruit is bitter. When they eat it, it says, the bowels, it says, will swell. A burning heat, it says, will overcome them. Then they will be given a drink, water mixed of boiling water and pus — may Allah protect us.
What are we saying? Now, prophets raised with Allah's knowledge, understanding Allah's word better, fear Allah much more than people do, and love Allah much more. Meanwhile, His mentioning the Zaqqum tree in Hell and calling this tree cursed serves to draw people's attention and to lead people to reflection. Since the Zaqqum tree has no reason and life, there is a vegetative life and vitality in it. Those without reason and life are not accountable to Allah. And those who are not accountable are not subject to Allah's curse. Allah Almighty, solely to put people to a test, will have the Zaqqum tree be in Hell.
Who will believe in this tree and, taking pride in its name, love it, and who, toward the Zaqqum tree that Allah has cursed, because Allah cursed it, will feel disgust and turn away? So Allah Almighty did this as a test for people. In our time we see people proudly using the name Zaqqum, putting on airs. The Prophet (peace be upon him): "A person will be resurrected with what he loves." According to this hadith, since the Zaqqum tree will be in Hell, and a person will be with what he loves, he will be there together with it. A person who, by doing what Allah Almighty does not love and does not want, takes pleasure in it should fear himself and know that from Allah's mercy he has moved away.
So Allah Almighty, warning people with the punishment of Hell, with miracles, wants to guide them. He wants to save people from punishment, keep them from following Satan and the taghut, turn them to the truth. But some people, despite seeing so many events, in the face of these miracles and warnings, increasing people's kufr, their transgression (?). Yes.
Now we see it. New Year is coming.
They will celebrate their Father Noel (Santa Claus). Who is this Father Noel? Father Noel.
Probably a man named Noel who would buy gifts at New Year to make children happy.
People liked this. They celebrate what this man did every year. Now how nicely people expose themselves by what they do.
Wrongdoing people, the wrongdoers, being in need of love, once a year put on a show of love. Because they are wrongdoers. So if we compare with the Muslim: since the Muslim needs only Allah's love, they, rather than once a year, without needing people's love, love each other every moment. Because Allah Almighty says if there is a Muslim at one end of the world and at the other end a Muslim, they are brothers. So, as the saying goes, even if a brother throws his brother, he holds him at the cliff's edge. So since the love of Islam is constant, it has no need for love once a year. Since the wrongdoers, those far from Allah, those whose hearts are restless and scattered, need love, they celebrate this love once a year — and in a way Allah does not want, wildly, overstepping the limits — and on top of that they shamelessly call it the birth of Jesus.
The birth of Jesus, of a prophet — is it celebrated so wildly, in a way Allah does not want, outside the Sharia rulings, by overstepping the limits? Is it? The mistakes they make come up further down. Further down. Well now, what if these were human? They know nothing of humanity. Their hearts are restless and scattered. They themselves are liars. Nearly everything they say is a lie too. Because Allah Almighty says in His verse, they are lying disbelievers.
If you also watch their films on television, pay attention. They always lie to each other. Always lies. They don't trust each other either. Nor do they believe each other. But a Muslim, what his Muslim brother says, from the heart believes. From the heart. Because he knows: my Muslim brother does not lie. Yes. Never be drawn toward this filth of the non-Muslims called Christmas. Our New Year has passed. What they call their New Year is a celebration of filth, and one our Lord does not want, which, outside the Sharia ruling, oversteps the limits and will incur Allah's wrath. We don't call it a celebration.
It is their coming to a state in which, with tremors that would nearly drown the earth in destruction, (?) on people, Allah's wrath would be scattered over people — and when they get stirred up like this, what will we do?
If we know the Quran, we will read the Quran. If we don't, we will remember our Lord. Failing that, we will pray one or two rak'ahs. We will pray voluntary prayers. At least — two — if the disbeliever pulls from one end, let the Muslim pull at the other, so that for the sake of this Muslim, Allah Almighty may keep this universe, until the day He promised, standing. Certainly.
Allah Almighty knows it will increase these people's transgression; even so, why with these miracles and the testing of people does He increase their transgression? Here, not "testing them" but rather "their trying themselves", we will say. Yes. Their trying themselves — people trying themselves, this increases their transgression. Yes. If another question comes to mind, we answer: Allah is free of deficient attributes. On the Day of Resurrection and the Day of Reckoning, when people see that punishment of Hell, so that they do not say, "O Allah, had You shown us miracles, had You warned us, we too would not have wanted these evils," He creates these events.
Moreover, people who believe in Allah, taking lessons from these events, strengthen their faith in Allah Almighty even more, and from doing evil they keep away. So man, through the decisions he made by his own will, makes himself a witness. Yes.
In this way, the questions people would ask of Allah's Self — Allah Almighty, by making them manifest, by creating actual events for all of people's questions, keeps people from asking Him questions. This is Allah's attribute of Godhood. No one can call Allah to question. Because whatever he would ask will have come to pass, and man, tested by what he did, will give his account.
