Translation

Satan said; “Did You see the one whom You have made superior to me? Verily, if You give me time (make me live) until the Day of Judgment; I will gain control over his progeny, except a few.”

Tafsir

The brazen, mind-bogglingly reckless way in which he spoke against Allah (swt) shows how much hatred Iblis harbored against mankind. Although he knew that no force or power could stand against Allah, out of selfishness and pride, he braved all the torments coming from Allah, risking to endure these torments, saying to Allah, "Look at the one you have made superior to me," shows how much he despised our ancestor Adam, and therefore the human being. It also reveals its ignorance.

Iblis's ignorance is shown by the fact that he did not know that he and all the worlds were created from the light of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.), that he thought he was a scholar with his little knowledge, that he thought that he was a scholar, that he thought that there was no other being superior to him, and that he said to Allah (swt), "Look at the one whom you have made superior to me", showing that he was in ignorance. The fact that the pride, arrogance and selfishness in the angel led Satan to disobey Allah, even though he knew that even if all the beings created by Allah (swt) united, they could not harm Allah, again shows his ignorance.

In this ignorance and hatred, he said, "If you give me a period of time until the Day of Resurrection, I will bind his descendants to me except for a few. Allah (swt) accepted this wish of the angel. He gave him a lifetime until the Day of Resurrection. Satan, being the enemy of our ancestor Adam, has been turning mankind away from the path of Allah by setting ambushes and traps for his descendants and by giving them mischief and temptations in their hearts. He does not rule over them, except for a few among them. These are the believers, those who obey Allah and His Messenger, submit to Allah's commands, and turn to taqwa. They understand the temptation of Satan and do not follow him because they fear Allah.

What is said in the video

In verse 62 of Surah Al-Isra too, he said: this one You have raised above me, just take a look. You see, Satan says: just look at this one You have raised above me. I swear, if You let me live until the Day of Judgement, except for a very few, his offspring I will bind to myself, he says. Yes. The accursed one speaking to Allah Almighty shamelessly, in a mind-boggling way, recklessly, shows how much hatred Iblis bears toward mankind. Indeed, the accursed one, at the peak of pride and arrogance, at the very moment he saw himself at the highest summit, Allah Almighty creates a being, and prostration to it is made. And of course this will weigh on the accursed one here.

Yes, in this case, his defying the One who created him shows that Iblis is at the peak of ignorance. Although he knows that no power or might can stand against Allah, out of the egotism and pride in him, bracing himself against all the torments coming from Allah, daring to endure these torments, his saying to Allah Almighty: this one You have raised above me, just look at him, shows how much he despises our forefather Adam and thus mankind. Besides that, it reveals his ignorance. Yes, mankind was created honoured above the worlds. Because before mankind came to earth, Allah Almighty first gave him of His spirit, the spirit from light, and within those frequencies He created from fire, the accursed one He had created, probably, again because of being created from Allah Almighty's light, seeing himself superior; but our Lord being the whole spirit, and, by giving people a part of this spirit of His, making people honoured above all the worlds, unaware of this, this accursed one, seeing himself, out of pride and arrogance, with feelings of the nafs, above all the worlds, rises in rebellion against Allah Almighty and despises man.

And this shows that how (?) man is, and how (?) he was created, he does not know.

Iblis's ignorance: since he did not know that he and all the worlds were created from the light of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he thought himself a scholar with the little knowledge in him, and that a being superior to him did not exist; falling for this fancy, his saying to Allah Almighty: this one You have raised above me, just look at him, shows that he is in ignorance. Although he knows that all the beings Allah Almighty created, even if united, could do Allah no harm, that the (?) pride and arrogance, egotism, led Satan as far as defying Allah again shows his ignorance. Now there are many matters here.

For instance, that Allah Almighty gives man of His spirit, and that the accursed one does not know why He sends man to (?). That is, man, at that address "Alastu bi-Rabbikum", by people being honoured with our Lord's Self, by being honoured with our Lord's Self, these people who (?) our Lord themselves could not believe that Allah Almighty created them for Himself, and because they were waiting for the Lord of their own imagination, they rebelled. In this case, since Allah Almighty is free from deficient attributes, sending mankind to earth, wrapped in the garb of a body, and man in this lost realm not being bound by our Lord's command, our Lord, by sending prophets and scholars and making His Self known to people, so as to bring out that our Lord is free from deficient attributes, wraps man in the garb of a body.

But the accursed one, since it is within that garb of a body, within those frequencies, (?), sees him only within that garb of a body. Being unaware of his spirit, and unaware of such matters, since he does not know why man is wrapped in the garb of a body and why he will be sent to the world, since he does not know, he despises man in this way. Whereas man was created honoured above all the worlds.

Yes.

So, in this ignorance and hatred, he said: if You grant me time until the Day of Judgement, except for a very few, I will bind his offspring to myself. Allah Almighty accepted this wish of the accursed one. Because again in His verse He says: to show the truth there are prophets and scholars. In this case, He says, they also needed someone to show falsehood. Since everyone is free in his own will, he is free. He will either follow the one who shows the truth, or follow the one who shows falsehood. And in a verse Allah Almighty says exactly this: The accursed one, the accursed one proved right in his guess, He says.

Look what He says. He does not say he proved right in what he said. One must pay great attention to the words. He proved right in his guess, He says. Because the keys of the unseen are in Allah Almighty's hand. The guess is his saying: I can bind these to myself. Indeed, since Allah Almighty knows who will follow the accursed one, He sets him too over them as a guide. For whom? He says there is no problem with the broadcast, Hodja, he says. Yes. May Allah be pleased with him. He keeps us alert.

Yes. So, in this ignorance and hatred, he said: if You grant me time until the Day of Judgement, except for a very few, I will bind his offspring to myself.

Allah Almighty accepted this wish of the accursed one. He gave him a lifespan until the Day of Judgement. And since Satan is the enemy of our forefather Adam, by setting ambushes and traps for the people descended from him, and giving whispers and temptations to their hearts, he turns mankind away from the path of Allah. Among them a very few are excepted; his rule does not hold over them. These are the believers. Those who, obeying Allah and His Messenger, submit to Allah's commands, who turn to piety. These (?) the temptations Satan gives; because they fear Allah, they do not follow him. Moreover, Allah Almighty says in His verse of the accursed one: the temptation he gives to My servant who knows Me is foolish, He says.

Because those people who possess piety (?), since they are bound by our Lord's verses, the temptation the accursed one gives, beside the Truth, turns into superstitions.
