Tafsir
When people feel themselves on land, they think they are safe as long as their feet are on the ground. People will experience what they are destined to experience. But as long as people do not put their trust in Allah, when a calamity befalls the ships or the rafts on which they are sailing - a hurricane, a gale, a gale of wind, a storm, a sea surging with waves, and the ships in danger of being swamped by the waves and sinking - people are filled with the fear of death. In this situation, they immediately turn to Allah. The partners they had previously associated with Allah are forgotten. This is because Allah has given man an intellect to know His Essence. Man, on the other hand, turns away from Allah out of hatred and arrogance, so he associates partners with Allah. But in the face of such a danger, man's hatred and arrogance are broken and he seeks refuge in Allah out of fear of his life. People wish to God that once we put our feet on land, look how I will worship or help the poor or sacrifice in the name of God.
Before people used to call upon Allah in this way, before a calamity befell them, that is, before they sailed the seas, they did not remember Allah at all, and they used to associate partners with Allah, following every stubborn devil. When their feet were cut off from land and a calamity befell them, the partners they used to associate with Allah were forgotten and they began to call upon Allah. Allah makes such wrong-doers prove His existence to such people who disbelieve in Allah by making them witnesses in these situations. When they come to safety, they again forget Allah and return to their former deviation. On the Day of Judgment, on the Day of Reckoning, when they will be tormented as wrongdoers against their own souls, they will not be able to find a word to say against Allah (swt).
Such people are very ungrateful. If he asks for Allah's mercy and then turns his back on Him, if he disobeys Allah's judgment, if he disobeys Allah, if he eats and drinks and does not see the Giver of his sustenance, he is rebelling against Allah and has bought the life of eternal hell.
What is said in the video
Verse 67 of Surah Al-Isra is a verse that has been explained wrongly. The mistake is that at the end of the verse they have attributed something to Allah Almighty. Look how they attribute it. When misfortune strikes you at sea, all those you implore besides Him vanish away. Correct. When He saves you and brings you ashore, you go back to your old ways. Mankind is very ungrateful, it says. Now this last sentence, this last sentence attributes it to Allah Almighty. Mankind is very ungrateful. And I would say to Allah Almighty: You created us like that, what can we do? We would say that, wouldn't we? I mean, we would have a right to ask.
Having created us this way, what do You want from us? But if we change this part, the verse falls into place. What do we say? (?) Such people are very ungrateful. That is, such people. (?) After all these people are saved from the sea, are there not some who stay true to their word? Are there not those who worship Allah Almighty continually? There are. So in that case, if we generalize this to everyone, to everyone if we generalize it, we would be attributing it to Allah Almighty. So what shall we say? Since Allah Almighty is free of both attributes, if you return again to your old ways, such people are very ungrateful, says Allah Almighty.
Yes. That is the correct form of the verse.
When people feel themselves on land, as long as their feet stand on the ground, they think they are safe. Yet what will befall us a moment later? We are people unaware of that. Because the keys of the unseen are with Allah. What lies in our destiny a moment later, what we will live through, we cannot know. So Allah Almighty says: are you sure of your lives? That no calamity will come upon you from the sky, or that no calamity will come from (?), are you sure of that, it says. Now, according to these verses, we are not sure of our life one moment later. That is up to our Lord's decree. Where will our life come to an end?
Since we do not know that either, people, when they have brought themselves to a certain place, think themselves safe there. Yet safety lies in taking refuge in Allah. Yes. People will live whatever is in their destiny. So people, as long as they (?) Allah, when a calamity befalls them on the ships or rafts they board, that is, a hurricane, a storm, and along with it the seas swelling into huge waves, when the ships, struggling with these waves, face the danger of sinking, people are suddenly filled with the fear of death. Then they immediately take refuge in Allah. The partners they had earlier associated with Allah are forgotten.
Because Allah has given man a mind that (?) His Being. But man, turning his back on Allah out of rancour and arrogance, associates partners with Allah. But in the face of such danger, the rancour and arrogance in man are broken; for fear of their lives they take refuge in Allah. People: if only we set foot on land, look how I will worship or help the poor or sacrifice animals in Allah's name, they say, and make requests to Allah. Before people implore Allah Almighty like this, before misfortune befalls them, that is, before they set out to sea, they never remember Allah, or else, following every stubborn devil, they would associate partners with Allah.
But when their feet were cut off from land and misfortune befell them, the partners they had associated with Allah were forgotten, and the imploring of Allah began. So Allah, in such situations, makes such wrongdoers witnesses against themselves, and thus proves His existence to such people who deny Allah. Once they reach safety, they again forget Allah and return to their former errors. On the Day of Resurrection, at the great tribunal, on that Day of Reckoning, when, as wrongdoers against their own selves, they are sentenced to punishment, they will not be able to find any word to say against Allah Almighty. Mankind is very ungrateful: it asks for Allah's mercy, then, if he turns his back on it, such people do not abide by Allah's judgment; he opposes Allah, eats and drinks, and if he does not see the Giver of this provision, man with these ungrateful acts rebels against Allah, and has bought an eternal life in Hell.
Yes.
Such people truly
This part it is worth correcting. A word was missing a letter. We corrected that. Yes. Such people are very ungrateful. We had put (?) there. (?) there 'is very ungrateful'. It asks for Allah's mercy. Then, if he turns his back on it, he does not abide by Allah's judgment. He opposes Allah, eats and drinks. If he does not see the Giver of this provision, man with these ungrateful acts rebels against Allah, and has bought an eternal life in Hell. In that case he has sold the life of this world in exchange for the punishment of the Hereafter, and for a few hours', a few hours' life of pleasure in this world, he has agreed to an eternal life in Hell.
Such people are truly foolish people. Fools. Again, such people are people who do not reflect, who do not use their reason. With what shall we reflect, Hodja? With what shall one use one's reason? If you say that, if you say that, you will think like this.
You will look at these worlds. Everything has been created in order and harmony. That nothing is by chance, that everything was created with knowledge and firmly, you will see. If man, without looking much around him, considers his own inner world, with what knowledge he has been equipped, he knows that a being created with such knowledge surely has an owner, has a Creator. Every mind knows this. So the one who has reason, through such reflection, surrenders himself to the One who created him and, towards Allah Almighty, towards our Lord who created him, tries to fulfil his due duty. Yes.
