Verily, We have dignified the sons of Adam and made them honorable. We have transported them (by different means) on the land and the sea. We have given them beautiful provisions. And some of those We have created (among humankind) are certainly superior to others.
Tafsir
Since Allah (swt) willed that His Essence should be known through man, He created His Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) from His light. Then He gave him his soul. It is because Allah (swt) gave a part of His spirit to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and created him close to Himself that man was created as the most honorable of all creatures. In this respect, Allah (swt) said to man (lekad haleknel insane fi ahseni takvim). That is to say, I have created man in the most beautiful form. That is why man is the best of creation and the caliph of the earth.
The glory and fame of man is because Allah (swt) has given man a perfect intellect among the creatures. With this intellect, humans do many things and make the world serve them. By making many inventions with technology, by inventing electricity, ships, airplanes and land vehicles, by moving from one place to another with them, and by using the intellect that Allah has given to human beings, and by using Allah's knowledge to discover as much as Allah has allowed people to discover, and by presenting the inventions that people have found to the service of people, people will have fame and glory.
Or they try to become the kind of servant Allah (swt) wants them to be by reforming their nafs, by obeying Allah's commands and prohibitions, by doing good deeds and worships, by adorning themselves with taqwa. By studying religious sciences and reforming the nafs in the way of Allah, they ascend. Allah (swt) equips such people with knowledge. They become religious scholars, shed light on the path of Allah and solve people's problems. They introduce and explain Allah and the Hereafter to people. Allah (swt) says that such people are people of glory and honor. These are the ones who have true glory and fame.
(We carried them) on land and sea (by various means of transportation). The meaning of this verse is; As we have explained above, Allah (swt) has given people a good intellect. When people use this intellect and find as much knowledge as Allah (swt) permits them to find and make the world serve them, Allah (swt) says: "We have carried people on land and sea with various means of transportation, surely because of Allah's favor and bestowal upon mankind". Allah has not given such ability to any creature other than human beings. No other creature other than human beings can voluntarily study their knowledge as much as Allah permits them to do. However, these created creatures are programmed with a program for the tasks they are to perform. All creatures perform their duties according to this program. Humans, however, acquire knowledge by using the intellect Allah (swt) has given them and as much as Allah (swt) permits. The inventions that people have found and discovered are due to the blessing of intellect that Allah has given to people. (He says: "We have carried people on land and sea by various means") because of the new and new inventions that people will come up with, and because of the intellect that Allah has given to human beings.
He has also fulfilled the needs of people by creating a wide variety of sustenance for them. He has created birds flying in the sea, land and air as sustenance for human beings. He has revealed what is beneficial for the human body among all creation, and has provided mankind with the richest nutrients in the form of various plants and meat products.
(Again, they are the people whom We have created, some of them are indeed superior to many). People are superior to each other in proportion to the covenants they have made with Allah (kalu bela). Everyone's faith is different. Their faith is in proportion to their own will and meaning. Those who know Allah or those who do not know Allah are also different in terms of degrees in the sight of Allah. This verse also emphasizes that those who believe in Allah are more numerous than those who do not believe. When some are said to be superior to many, it means that some are superior to many in their belief in Allah and the Hereafter, and that those who believe in Allah and the Hereafter are more numerous than those who do not.
What is said in the video
We have come to Surah Al-Isra, verse 70, and this too is a wrongly interpreted verse. First let me read you the wrong version there. "We have truly made the children of Adam possessors of glory and honor." See how beautifully it says it. Now some people say this about me: this man follows wahdat al-wujud. I laugh at them. These people are truly stuck inside a circle of ignorance, (?) in ignorance, without knowledge, but a dry tree, without knowledge.
(?) in his hadiths he says, "By the right of that Creator, the Essence of Majesty." "By the right of the Essence of Majesty." "By that Essence," he says. He swears an oath.
So Allah Almighty too says so beautifully in His verse: "We have truly made the children of Adam possessors of glory and honor." Why? He made them possessors of glory and honor. Because He gave us of His spirit. Well, is there a verse about His giving of His spirit? Can you support with a second verse that He made us possessors of glory and honor? Of course. Allah Almighty reconciles the verses with one another throughout the Holy Quran. He says, "Whoever seeks glory and fame: glory and fame, honor is with Allah," He says. If Allah Almighty possesses glory, fame and honor, and made man too a possessor of glory, fame and honor, He says so beautifully that He gave a part of His essence.
He says so beautifully that He created him in a likeness to His essence. But we are created, and our Lord is the Creator. By speaking of wahdat al-wujud we are never in the position of the Creator. But truly, we subsist in our Lord. Because we are a part of Him, Paradise and Hell are everlasting. A person who cannot fit this everlastingness into his mind accuses us of wahdat al-wujud. This comes from a person's lack of reason, from his lack of knowledge; though he himself is a believer, in this way, just as the polytheists picture Allah Almighty in their own fancy, he too pictures something formless, and so, lacking knowledge, he can say words about Allah that must not be said.
Yes. What are we saying now? We continue with the verse. That is enough on this. "We have truly made the children of Adam possessors of glory and honor. We carried them on land and sea with various means of transport. We gave them fine provisions. And We truly made them superior to many of those We created," it says. Yes. Now this part is wrong. Which part is wrong? "And We gave them provisions. We gave them fine provisions. And We truly made them superior to many of those We created," it says. So Allah Almighty says, "We have truly made the children of Adam possessors of glory and honor." (?) He says, you know, that honor is with Allah.
Glory, fame and honor are with Allah. So, since He also gave a part of His spirit, if man was created in the most beautiful form, if He made man honored above the worlds and says this in His verse, then it would mean that there are some beings superior even to mankind, given that it says this. But how is it really? "And some of the people We created are truly superior to many." That is what we say, see. "And of the people We created, those people We created honored, some are truly superior to many." Such as? There are two paths. One is the path of Islam. The other is the non-Islamic, non-Muslim path.
That is, of these two paths, one leads to Paradise and one to Hell. That is one. Second, the human nafs has seven states. Seven states. Nefs-i emmare, nefs-i levvame, nefs-i mülhime, nefs-i mutmainne, nefs-i raziye, nefs-i marziye, nefs-i safiye. So the owners of each nafs are people who hold stations above one another. So the righteous servants are in the Garden of Eden. A person in nefs-i raziye is above a person in nefs-i emmare, in nefs-i levvame, or in mülhime, or in mülhime, that is, above four stations; nefs-i mülhime is above three stations: nefs-i mülhime, nefs-i emmare, nefs-i levvame, nefs-i mülhime; nefs-i mülhime, the door of miracles, is in a station above nefs-i levvame.
Nefs-i levvame is above nefs-i emmare. Although nefs-i emmare is the lowest state of the nafs, pay attention:
if he goes to the hereafter with faith, he is above the non-Muslim. He will come out of Hell and go to Paradise. If he has sins, he will enter Hell. After serving his punishment there, he will go to Paradise. So what is it? Some people are truly superior to some, to many, we say. Yes. One must pay very close attention to the verses. These are verses interpreted without knowledge, by people not versed in this knowledge, who give Allah Almighty attributes and (?) wrong words as they interpret these verses. I suppose this part is understood too. Allah Almighty in His verse; we read it once more: "We have truly made the children of Adam possessors of glory and honor.
We carried them on land and sea with various means of transport. We gave them fine provisions. And some of the people We created are truly superior to many." Since Allah Almighty willed that His essence be known through man, He created from the light of the Beloved of Majesty, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Then He gave him of His spirit. Through Allah Almighty giving a part of His own spirit to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and creating him close to Himself, man was created as the most honored of created beings. For this reason Allah Almighty said to man; that is, He declares: I created man in the most beautiful form.
That is why man is the most excellent of created beings and the vicegerent on earth. Yes.
Man's possessing glory and fame lies in this: that Allah Almighty, among created beings, gave man a perfect intellect. With this intellect people do many things and make the world serve them. Making many inventions, inventing with technology electricity, ships, planes and land vehicles, they are carried with these from place to place, and people, using the intellect Allah gave them, again Allah Almighty, inventions for people, as Allah Almighty lets them discover Allah's knowledge as far as He permits, by offering the inventions they have found to people's service, people become possessors of glory and fame.
Or, by reforming their nafs and observing Allah's commands and prohibitions, through obedience and worship, adorned with taqwa, they strive to be servants as Allah Almighty wishes. Pursuing religious sciences, they rise on Allah's path by reforming the nafs. Allah Almighty equips such people with His knowledge. They become scholars of religion. Shedding light for people on Allah's path, they become a remedy for people's difficulties. They make Allah and the hereafter known to people and explain them. Allah Almighty declares that such people are people of glory and honor. And those who truly possess glory and honor are these.
Yes. That is, this verse supports it: "The passing of your scholars to the hereafter is like the sun leaving and darkness coming", the people of whom this is said.
"We carried them on land and sea with various means of transport." The meaning of this verse: as we explained above, Allah Almighty gave people a fine intellect. People, using this intellect, finding His knowledge as far as Allah Almighty permits and making the world serve them, is surely out of Allah's grace and kindness to people; so He declares: We carried people with various means of transport on land and sea. Allah Almighty has given no creature other than man such an ability. No creature created other than man can, by its own will, find through effort Allah's knowledge as far as He permits.
Rather, these created beings are programmed with a program for the duties they are to perform. All creatures carry out their duties according to this program. But people, using the intellect Allah Almighty gave, and as far as Allah Almighty permits, become versed in His knowledge. The inventions people find and discover come from the blessing of intellect Allah gave people. Since the ever-new inventions people will yet find come about through the intellect Allah gave people, He declares: We carried people with various means on land and sea. Moreover, by creating abundant and varied provisions for people, He has met their needs.
He created the birds flying on land and in the air as provision for people. Among created things He made known those beneficial to the human body, and with all kinds of plants and meat products He has offered mankind the richest nutrients. "And some of the people We created are truly superior to many." People are, it seems, superior to one another in proportion to the covenants they gave Allah. Everyone's faith is different. Their faith is in proportion to their understanding by their own will. Those who know Allah and those who do not are also distinct in rank in Allah's sight. This verse also emphasizes that people who believe in Allah are greater in number than those who do not believe.
When it says "some over many", with regard to created beings' belief in Allah and the hereafter, by some being superior to many, that those who believe in Allah and the hereafter are even more numerous than those who do not believe is also indicated, we say.
You might put a question to me like this.
Today we look: the world population, I don't know how much it is by now, let's say 5 billion, 6 billion people; of these, 1.5 billion, let's say, or 3 billion, or 2.5 billion are Muslims, and 3.5 to 4 billion, or the people above that, are non-Muslims. Then how are these non-Muslims, in this way, more than the Muslims, the Muslims more than the non-Muslims? Then don't this verse and this contradict each other? That is, when you ask whether there isn't a contradiction here: this is not a contradiction. You should think of it like this: since our father Adam, Allah Almighty has sent prophets to people.
People believed in these prophets. He destroyed those who did not believe. So the believers fulfilled it. Up to the time of the Prophet, most of all the peoples believed in their prophets and had faith. If to their numbers we add the number of Muslims in our time as well, they truly outnumber the non-Muslims. Yes, the Prophet (peace be upon him) also says in one of his hadiths as follows: "Marry and multiply; I will take pride in the great number of my ummah," he says. Yes.
