And wake up at one part of the night (and establish a prayer that’s) exclusively for you. So that, You can hope that your Lord will make you reach a praised rank.
Tafsir
The night prayer is not obligatory on people. However, if people lose their sleep at night, leave the comforts of their souls and worship Allah (swt), they will be rewarded with great rewards. This prayer at night is also called the Tahajjud prayer.
This is how Allah (swt) said to our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Habib-i Kibriya Hatemen Nabi (peace be upon him), a special prayer for you and then gave him the good news that He would send him to a praiseworthy position, that is, a position He called Mahmud, a position that people cannot even imagine.
This means that those who adhere to the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) and do what the Prophet (PBUH) did will also receive great rewards, and Allah (swt) gives good news to people that those who pray at night and continue to do so will also receive great rewards.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Isra, we have come to verse 79. Rising for part of the night, perform prayer as a supererogatory act special to you, it says. Had it not said special to you, it would have been obligatory for his community. So we, at that precious time, by performing the noble sunnah, the tahajjud, the supererogatory prayer, both fulfil the noble sunnah and, in order to attain our Lord's mercy, worship Him. Rising for part of the night, perform prayer as a supererogatory act special to you. So you may hope that your Lord will send you to a praiseworthy station, it says. Yes, which station is this? The 8th paradise, Maqam Mahmud; people, it says, cannot even imagine it. Yes.
The night prayer is not too much prayer for people; but if people leave the comfort of night sleep, (?) pleasing to their nafs, and engage in worship of Allah Almighty, they attain great rewards. This prayer performed at night is also called the tahajjud prayer. The tahajjud prayer is rising after lying down a while, after sleeping. If you don't sleep, if you pray without sleeping, it becomes the salat al-layl prayer. That is, night prayer. It is called the salat al-layl prayer. If you sleep and then get up, it becomes the tahajjud prayer. And the tahajjud prayer, as we said, the most precious moment: an hour, an hour and twenty minutes before, the prayer is begun.
You will bring it down below this one hour. You get up an hour and twenty minutes before. You renew your ablution. Well, you put on your clothes. An hour is left anyway until the prayer. When you begin the prayer, the tahajjud prayer is eight rak'ahs. Two by two, two by two, eight rak'ahs, with whatever suras come easy to you, you perform your prayer. In addition, you perform a supererogatory prayer of four rak'ahs, provided it is two by two. Twelve rak'ahs. You want to pray more. Pray. Pray as much as you like. Well. At night you glorify your Lord until imsak. Well. Then, a little while after imsak begins, fifteen, twenty minutes later, according to the Hanafis, with 30 to 35 minutes left before sunrise one stands for prayer, or with 20 to 25 minutes left one stands for prayer, and since at night we got up, after imsak, for some 15 to 20 minutes, our morning lessons, our suras I read, then perform my prayer and lie down.
Because the morning prayer is between imsak and sunrise. We allow a tolerance of 15 minutes, 20 minutes; we perform our morning prayer and move on. Yes, you too can perform the tahajjud prayer this way. So Allah Almighty's saying to the Beloved of the Most Glorious, the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad (peace be upon him), a prayer special to you, and then that He will send him to a praiseworthy station, that is, that this is a station He calls Maqam Mahmud, is the good news that He will bring him to a station people cannot even imagine. From this follows the meaning that those who hold fast to the sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him), who do what the Prophet (peace be upon him) did, will also attain great rewards; and so, that to those who perform the night prayers and persist in them great rewards will be given, Allah Almighty gives people the good news.
