Al-Isra 93: “Or, you should have a house of gold or you should ascend to heaven. Unless you bring us a Book to read, we will not believe that you ascended (to heaven) either!” (My Messenger!) Say; “I exalt my Lord. I am only a human Messenger (an admonisher).”

Translation

“Or, you should have a house of gold or you should ascend to heaven. Unless you bring us a Book to read, we will not believe that you ascended (to heaven) either!” (My Messenger!) Say; “I exalt my Lord. I am only a human Messenger (an admonisher).”

Tafsir

Their fifth request was that you should have a house of gold. In the eyes of those who disbelieve in Allah, people should have positions and things so that these disbelieving people will believe in these Prophets. They should revolve around him for his position and material things. Even then, it is not that they believed in the Prophet, but that they pretended to believe in him in order to protect their own interests.

Their sixth request was that you should ascend to heaven or bring us a Book from there that we can read, and unless you bring this Book, we will not believe that you have ascended to heaven. But they did not believe it, even though they were being read the Verses of the Holy Qur'an, which were appearing before their very eyes. Those who do not believe in the verses of the Holy Quran, what else will they believe in?

It is in the nature that one should not deny Allah. They will never find the right path for ever, and they will not understand the word of truth, no matter how much it is spoken to them. But these words of truth will only increase their disbelief.

What is said in the video

Yes, what were the non-Muslims, the polytheists, saying to the Prophet? Let us sum it up briefly. They had demands. We had come to this fifth demand of theirs. Well, regarding this fifth demand, Allah Almighty says in His verse: "Or you must have a house of gold." That is, they say it to the Prophet, the non-Muslims. "Or you must ascend to the sky," about the Prophet. "Unless you bring down a book for us to read, we will never believe that you ascended to the sky." "Say," this time Allah Almighty to the Prophet, "I exalt my Lord above all. I am only a human messenger." Yes.

The non-Muslims, the polytheists: even if you show them miracles, if, to Allah Almighty, at the address "Elestü bi-Rabbiküm", they gave their covenant as deniers, if they turned their backs on Allah and gave their covenant so as to wait for the Lord of their own imagination, however many miracles you show them, they are never going to change their destiny. In this case, among them, of course, there are those who turn back; of course not all of them gave the covenant to Allah Almighty in the same way. Every person, by his own will, had his own covenant written to our Lord. In this case, "Say to them," He says, "I exalt my Lord." He is free from all deficient attributes.

"I too am a human being like you, a mortal," he says. I am a messenger. A messenger Allah has sent. We said these non-Muslims, however many miracles you show them, will not believe, because they are not going to change their destiny. In this case, how beautifully Allah Almighty lists their traits for us. "Beware," He says, "of falling into these states too, being caught by the devil's deception and falling into doubt." Their fifth demand: they said, "You must have a house of gold." Indeed, in the eyes of those who deny Allah, people must have rank and wealth so that these denying people believe in these prophets.

So that they flutter around him like moths for his rank and wealth. Even then, it is not because they believe in the prophet, but to keep their own interests protected that they would appear to have believed him.

People, we said it before too, the polytheists said, you know, "Of all people, was prophethood left to Abu Talib's orphan? Prophethood should have been given to someone in one of these two cities," that is, to a rich one in Taif and to someone rich in Mecca; he must be rich, so that people coveting his wealth and property would believe what he says. Yet Allah Almighty sends people no one would expect as prophets. For example, for example, just as He sent Moses, like that. Well, the way He sent the men in Surah Yasin.

The way He sent the Prophet, the way He sent Jesus. If He had sent from wealthy people like this, a person would (?) his money. He would believe him with his tongue; with his heart he would believe, not believe. In this case he would not fully prove himself. So Allah, Allah Almighty, His Self not by matter but by the true words coming from the mouth, true words; Allah Almighty wants people to the words coming from the mouth of the prophet or of the scholars to give value; that is what He wants. Value. Otherwise, if value were given to money, wealth, matter, palaces, rank, everyone (?) one another.

But even if a person worked wonders with his tongue, worked wonders with his tongue, if there is no turning back in his destiny, he will not turn back. But if there is matter and rank, he appears that way to him; he is seen as having turned back. And he would, well, deceive people too. Whereas he has not believed from the heart. But since he went that way, he could have said to Allah Almighty, "Look, I worshipped here, I did this, I did that." But in such a different (?), or in poverty, or, I don't know, to people He brought from such a normal level, to His prophets, not for matter, but believing in the words from their mouths, in the true word, He wants them to, well, have faith in him. For this reason all the prophets, all the prophets, because of coming through lineage, always like this grew up in poverty, in torment.

For example, they threw Abraham into the fire. Moses fled; he had killed a man. He fled. Well, the other, Saleh, again: though he was a respected person among his people, his people still did not believe in his true word. They did not believe. For this, a person is not going to change his destiny either. And because he cannot change it, Allah Almighty, in the best way, among people, sends them prophets and messengers in their own language, sends scholars; those people, according to their character, according to their destiny, either believe, or, as the non-Muslims say, are found in the (?). Who are you?

Do you have a label? Which university did you finish? Well, what is your rank? Words like these, well, people learning from one another, with one another's superstitions, talk within one another's mental capacity pleases one another, so they look for people of this kind. Or they look for labels and rank. Or they look for matter. That is why, in this world, to matter, to rank, or, well, to acting big toward a person, giving no value, the true word, you will look at people's true word. Walking in the mountains, you see a shepherd who speaks like a master. A master. Take him on your back, carry him on your shoulders.

Well, a saint, spiritually accomplished. In your city you have come to have trillions. Let me tell you, the man has become a swindler. Come on, with carnal feelings he has fallen into a superiority complex. He has moved away from the qualities of a human being. In character a human, but in appearance a human, but in character, on earth, he has turned into animal forms. So what if such a one is human?

This is how beautifully our Lord warns people with His verses. Through people's words.

Their fifth demand: they said, "You must have a house of gold." Indeed, in the eyes of those who deny Allah, people must have rank and wealth so that these denying people believe in these prophets. So that they flutter around him like moths for his rank and wealth. Even then, it is not because they believe in the prophet, but to keep their own interests protected that they would appear to have believed him. Their sixth demand: "Or you must ascend to the sky. From there you must bring us a book we can read." "As long as he does not bring this book, even if you supposedly ascend, we will not believe," they said. Yet, although the verses of the Holy Quran appearing before their eyes were read to them, they did not believe in it.

Those who do not believe in the verses of the Holy Quran, what else would they believe in? Each one of its verses is a miracle. So, once they have made denial of Allah in their nature, in their nature, that is, at the address "Elestü bi-Rabbiküm", when Allah Almighty (?), once toward Allah Almighty they turn their backs and have their nature written so as to deny Him, these will never again find the right path, ever, and however much the true word is told to them, they do not understand. These true words serve only to increase their kufr.
