Rather, what prevented people from believing when guidance came to them, was only that they said, “Did Allah send us a human being as a Messenger?”

Tafsir

When Allah (swt) sent a guide to people, people did not want to believe in these messengers of Allah, the Prophets. Selfishness, arrogance and pride in the human soul gives a person a love of greatness. They also become arrogant towards the Prophets sent by Allah, and they patronize them. They say, "Why did Allah send a human being like you as a Prophet?

In fact, when our souls are created in the Hereafter, when we are addressed by Allah (swt), since our souls are a part of Allah (swt), in terms of resemblance to our Lord, they did not believe in Allah (swt) there either, and denied Allah (swt) because they were waiting for the Allah of their own imagination.

When they are born in the realm of property, people with the same feelings and thoughts believe in the Allah they imagine according to their own minds. They deny Allah, the only Creator of the worlds.

If people think about it, there is no other deity other than Allah saying, "I am Allah". It is always the one and only Allah who says, I am Allah and I am the one who is the absolute power in the worlds, the one who is worthy of praise and adoration in His property. In this case, since Allah, whom people imagine according to their minds, has not made a sound all this time, how can people deny Allah, the Creator of the worlds, by making Himself known?

Allah (swt) addresses people in the Holy Qur'an and says, "Do you not use your intellect, do you not contemplate? Unfortunately, those who deny Allah (swt) in the Hereafter are veiled against the Word of Truth in this world, so they do not want to hear the Word of Truth and they do not want to see the Truth. Therefore, they are blind, deaf and their hearts are sealed. In this state, they cannot find the right path for eternity.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-Isra, verse 94. Indeed, when the guide to guidance came to them, the guide to guidance: the prophets, the verses, people's believing in it was prevented solely by their saying, "Has Allah sent as a prophet a human being?" That is, their saying something like "If only He had sent us an angel" prevented it, it says. "Has Allah sent us as a prophet a human being?" Yet Allah Almighty says in His verse: "Whatever you are, We send you a prophet of your own kind." Whatever you are, We send you a prophet of your own kind. For example, the angels too have their prophets. There are four great angels.

Azrael, Gabriel, Israfil, Michael. Now these are the four great ones of the angels. And among the prophets, people too will have their prophet. He will explain to them. Who will it be? He too will of course be from among humans. In this case, even if Allah Almighty sent one from the angels, if there is a trait in your nature of not believing, you will still not believe. And the prophet Allah Almighty would send you would fall into the same situation as the prophet He sent as a human on earth. You would fall into his situation. In this case, because Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes, He neither sends you a prophet from the angels nor sends the angels a prophet from humans.

For example, the Prophet (peace be upon him), a mercy to the worlds, is the prophet of mankind and jinn. Yes.

Indeed, when the guide to guidance came to them, people's believing in it was prevented solely by their saying, "Has Allah sent a human being as a prophet?" When Allah Almighty sent people a guide to guidance, people did not want to believe in these prophets, Allah's messengers. Indeed, had they believed: when Allah Almighty, in the realm of Lahut, said to us, "Am I not your Lord?", people there would have had to say, "Yes, You are our Lord, You are our Lord." "But Hodja, they did say yes there!" If only we could know the (?) of that yes here, we would be telling the secret of the matter anyway.

Their saying yes is their knowing that they were created by a Lord. Their knowing that they were created by a God, by a Creator. In this case, because Allah Almighty gave man very great value, a part of His spirit He has given him. Some people within the circle of ignorance, despite our warning, still in the direction of their own reason, acting with their own carnal feelings, to the cat, the dog, well, the plant, this and that, (?) people. These are people who act as hodjas in helplessness and who turn the religion of Islam into (?). These are (?). Now, since the spirit is only in man, because He holds man as an addressee of His Self, Allah Almighty has given a part of His spirit.

In this case, because people subsist through their Lord, in paradise and in hell they are immortal. In paradise and in hell they are immortal. Because Allah Almighty has given them a part of His spirit. If people in paradise, in hell, in the realm of the hereafter were mortal, if those spirits were mortal, then one day it would come out that our Lord too is mortal. If Allah Almighty is the First, the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, if He subsists by His Self, if He is the Living and has given man a part of it, then, since man subsists through his Lord, in this case, in the hereafter, in paradise, in hell, he too will leave the entrusted body.

Because spiritually he subsists through his Lord, he will remain eternally in paradise and hell. Yes. If people only knew the (?) they gave to Allah Almighty in the realm of the hereafter, and if man knew that He gave him great value and held him as an addressee of His Self, would man shy away from Allah Almighty? Their saying yes, their saying yes: they knew they were created by a Lord, but because, spiritually, as a part, He created people with the attribute of His Self, because He made them resemble the attribute of His Self, made them resemble Him in human form, people could not recognize the Lord before them as Lord; the Lord of their own imagination they waited for. So their saying yes is because, by a Lord, they knew they had been created.

If they had not said yes, it would have come out that Allah Almighty could not give them a reason to prove that they were created by a god; that is what would have come out. They said yes. "Yes, that is, we were created, but how do we know that You created us?" That saying, "How do we know that You created us?", is why Allah Almighty created the unseen realms and, because He is free of deficient attributes, brought us and placed us in the realm of mulk, to make His Self known through prophets and scholars, through books. So that tomorrow, on the Day of Judgment, in the realm of the hereafter, you would not say, "If You had sent me to a realm where Your Self is not seen, I would have worshipped You there." Indeed, of Surah Al-Ahzab, probably the 47th verse it will be. Let us look here.

We have read it to you many times anyway.

Let us look here now.

Surah Al-Qasas, verse 47. When a calamity befalls them because of what they themselves have done, "Our Lord, what happened? You should have sent us a prophet so that we would follow Your verses and be among the believers"; if they were not going to say this, We would not have sent you, it says. Surah Ta-Ha, verse 134. "If We had destroyed them with a punishment before this, before the Quran, they would surely have said: O Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, so that before falling into this baseness and disgrace we would have followed Your verses." That is, "I, if You had sent us to the world, sent us to a realm where Your Self is not seen, and not shown Your Self, and sent us prophets, scholars and books, we would have believed in You there"; so that they would not say this, Allah Almighty, being free of deficient attributes, created these realms.

So Allah Almighty, of them, says: because they knew that by a Lord they had been created, they say yes. Yes. Otherwise He calls them denying unbelievers. Now here, both yes and denying unbelievers. How can that be? They knew. Knowingly, despite knowing that they were created by a Lord, although there is no other god besides Me, they denied Me. (?) denying unbelievers. One must know the verses very well. One must understand them very well. Otherwise, with such a simple mind, well: "No, Allah said yes, but people in the world (?)." "No, Allah was generally unaware." "He acted according to people's situation." These as Allah's attributes, Allah forbid.

And they have explained it like this in the Quran too. (?) We are trying to (?) these mistakes.

Yes, let us read the verse once more. Indeed, when the guide to guidance came to them, people's believing in it was prevented solely by their saying, "Has Allah sent a human being as a prophet?", it says. When Allah Almighty sent people a guide to guidance, people did not want to believe in these prophets, Allah's messengers. The ego, arrogance and pride in man's nafs give a person a passion for greatness. Toward the prophets Allah has sent, too, they act arrogantly and lord it over them. "Of all people, did Allah send a mortal like you as a prophet?" they say. Or, "Of all people, did Allah send an orphan of Abu Talib like you as a prophet?" they say. Allah forbid.

With their pride within their own worldly possessions, taking pride in the matter Allah gave, without seeing the Giver, making claims with Allah's creations, toward the one Allah sent as messenger, the messenger He sent to the worlds, that person who makes the worlds dust under his feet, boasting with a tiny bit of matter.

You ask, is there a verse for what they say? There is. These are the verses answering what they said.

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. What does it say?

"Even if the whole world were on one side, even if everyone turned away from you, say: Allah, Lord of the heavens and the earth and of the great Throne, is enough for me," they said.

So if, in return for this matter Allah has given people as a part, a person falls into pride and arrogance with that matter, sees what Allah gave but does not see the Giver, of course he will act big toward the messenger Allah sent too.

Indeed, in the realm of the hereafter, in the realm of the hereafter too, when our spirits were created, when we were honored with Allah Almighty's address, since our spirits are a part of Allah Almighty, since they are a part of Him, in terms of resemblance to our Lord, there too, by not believing in Allah and waiting for the Allah of their own imagination, they denied Allah Almighty. How do we understand that here too they wait for the Lord of their own imagination? By their making shapes according to their own imagination, making horns, or making animals, making frightening shapes, well, and worshipping them.

That is how they imagine them. That is how they imagine their Lord. Allah forbid. In the realm of mulk too, when they come into the world, people of the same feelings and thoughts believe, by their own reason, in an Allah they themselves imagine. They deny the one Allah who created the worlds. If people would think: no other god besides Allah comes forth saying, "I am Allah." Is there anyone like that? There have been. Like whom? Like Nimrod. Like whom? Like Pharaoh. What became of them in the end? Their end made Nimrod very small in people's eyes. Plus, he said, "Let me take a look at this army of Abraham." With an army of mosquitoes Allah Almighty destroyed him.

How did He do it? From the mosquitoes (?) he hid himself. He hid in a room. A lame mosquito that came in through the keyhole, while he was asleep, through his nostril got in. It began to nibble at his brain. This brain began to itch. He hired men; he kept having them hit his head with a mallet, so that he would get relief. Taking blow after blow of that mallet, he croaked and was gone.

Some remedy that was. Pharaoh took the same path too. In the end, while drowning in the Red Sea, "I have believed," though he said this to the Lord of these people, "Now," He says, "you believe in Me? Despite so many miracles? I will leave you, this lifeless body of yours, as a lesson to the worlds," He said, and the British found him in the Red Sea, on a rock, prostrated in that position. Right now in England, in a museum, what can I say, on display in a museum. These are our Lord's verses. His miracles. Yes.

Indeed, in the realm of the hereafter, when our spirits were created, when we were honored with Allah Almighty's address, since our spirits are a part of Allah Almighty, in terms of resemblance to our Lord, there too, by not believing in Allah and waiting for the Allah of their own imagination, they denied Allah Almighty. In the realm of mulk too, when they come into the world, people of the same (?) and thoughts believe, by their own reason, in an Allah they themselves imagine. They deny the one Allah who created the worlds. If people would think: no other god besides Allah comes out saying, "I am Allah." Even if one says so, he is destroyed anyway.

It is always that one Allah who says, "I am Allah, and the absolute power in the worlds, in My dominion worthy of praise and glorification, is Me." Who is He? He who created us, besides whom there is no god, who with His majestic name holds His Self great: Allah, all the way since Adam, our forefather, has been addressing us. Ever since we, the human world, came into the world, He has been addressing us. Those who come forth apart from Him perish and are gone. But that One, the absolute power and creator of the worlds, has always been addressing us. On what reason do these people rely, in what power do they believe, what power do they take behind them, that they turn their backs on Allah who created the worlds and go over to denial?

Even calling them fools would not be fitting. The word "fool" falls short. Yes.

Well, in this case, since the Allah people imagine by their reason has, for so long, made no sound, the One who makes His Self known and created the worlds, Allah Almighty, how do people deny Him? they ask. Their thinking is like this. The idol worshippers'. They will serve the idols they made with their own hands, feed them, give them drink. That is, without those idols even knowing, they will give them things. And when the Prophet (peace be upon him) says these have neither benefit nor harm for people, come, believe in the one Allah, look, Allah's verses are like this, those idol worshippers say, "Look," they say, "Muhammad's Allah talks, it seems." If Muhammad's Allah does not speak... if He speaks, if Muhammad's Allah speaks, He shows you the truth.

He created you, and put before you, well, a guide, so that you find peace in the world and in the hereafter find life; of course He will speak to you. You, with a sound mind, act crooked, do wrong. Bring to your idol, bring food, serve a piece of wood, while Allah gives you so many blessings, feeds you and gives you drink, you turn your back on Him, serve what you made with your own hand, and then they say Muhammad's Allah talks, it seems. So the words these, these people say are neither words nor words befitting the honorably created human being. Yes. We will say: may Allah reform them.

So in this case, if you pay attention, the verses always address reason. Reason, and we too always try to open up the verses to you rationally and logically. So in this case Allah Almighty (?). "Do you never use your reason? Do you never reflect? Do you never think?" He says. How beautifully Allah Almighty puts it. Yes. So Allah Almighty, addressing people in the Holy Quran, says: "Do you never use your reason? Do you never reflect?" He says. Unfortunately, those who denied Allah Almighty in the realm of the hereafter, in this realm, being veiled against the true word, the true word they do not want to hear.

Hatemallâhu alâ kulûbihim ve alâ sem'ihim, ve alâ ebsârihim gışâveh, ve lehum azâbun azîm. Their eyes are veiled against the Truth, their ears are blocked against the Truth. In this case, their hearts too have been sealed by Allah, by their own wish. When they hear the true word, they get into a state that would make the clouds in the sky burst.

They do not want to hear the true word, nor do they want to see the truth. For this reason they are blind, they are deaf, and their hearts are sealed. In this state they will never find the right path.

May Allah protect us from such a state.
