Translation

Say; “If there were angels in the earth walking calmly, We would surely have sent to them an angel as a Messenger.”

Tafsir

When Allah (swt) sends a Prophet to His creatures, He sends a Prophet from His own kind. He sends Prophets to human beings from human beings, and He sends Prophets to angels from angels. Indeed, the Qur'an says that if the angels had settled on the earth like human beings and wandered around, and if angels had settled on the earth instead of human beings, We would certainly have sent them a Prophet from heaven who was an angel.

There are four great angels of the angelic realm. These are the elders of the other angels. These are Gabriel, Michael, Israfil and Azrael. Whatever Allah has created, He has placed at its head an elder of his own kind, and their obedience to him ensures their order of life.

Don't we see bees, with a bee master at their head and all the bees obeying this bee master, and ants and many animals and the leaders at the head of these animals? By obeying these leaders, they preserve their lives among themselves.

So Allah sends His Prophets from their own kind as a leader of guidance to mankind. But since most people are rebellious, they disbelieve in a Prophet from their own kind because they disbelieve in Allah. People who disbelieve in Allah are not only not subject to the Prophet, but they also say, "Why did Allah send a human being like you as a Prophet? With this kind of speech, they commit disbelief and are wasteful to their own souls. They buy the eternal torment of the Hereafter while they are in this world.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-Isra, verse 95. "Say this," it says, "say this: If there had been angels settled on the earth, walking about, We would surely have sent them an angel from the sky as a prophet," it says. Why did we say this? In our earlier lesson too, not in our earlier lesson, rather when we talked a little while ago: "Whatever you are, We send you angels of your own kind," says Allah Almighty, so the verses confirm each other; indeed, they support each other. If Allah Almighty sends a prophet to His creatures, as a prophet of their own kind He sends him. To humans a prophet from humans, to angels a prophet from angels He sent.

Indeed, in the verse: if angels had been settled on the earth like humans, walking about, and if, instead of humans, angels had settled on the earth, from the sky We would surely send them a prophet as an angel, He declares. Yes.

The realm of Malakut has four great angels. These are the elders of the other angels. They are Gabriel, Michael, Israfil and Azrael. Yes.

Whatever Allah has created, He places over it a great one of its own kind, and through obedience to him He secures their order of life.

Don't we see the bees? Over them is a queen bee, and all the bees obey this queen bee. Likewise ants, and many animals, and the leaders over these animals; through obedience to these leaders they protect their lives among themselves. Whatever animal there is, there is a leader among them. Of their own kind. Yes. Allah Almighty has set a law for us too. What does He tell us in His verse anyway? "Before your eyes hundreds of miracles appear every day. You are blind, you do not see," He says. Yes.

So Allah Almighty sends people His prophets as guides to guidance, from their own kind. But because most people are rebellious, a prophet who comes from their own kind, because they deny Allah, they deny the prophet too. People who deny Allah, besides not following the prophet, also say this: "Of all people, did Allah send a mortal like you as a prophet?" they say. With such talk they fall into kufr and do harm to their own selves. While in the life of this world, they buy the eternal punishment of the hereafter. Yes.
