Say; “If you possessed the treasures in mercy of my Lord, (most of) you would refrain from fear of spending. Verily, such people are stingy.”
Tafsir
In this verse, Allah declares that He has mercy and compassion and that He has bestowed on mankind abundantly. That is to say, even though the people He created disbelieved in Him and were ungrateful for the blessings He gave them, eating and drinking the blessings He created and then turning their backs on Allah, Allah gives all people their full sustenance within their own destiny, so that they may bear witness to Allah and to the world around them. He feeds, sustains and nourishes them throughout their lives. But if man, by Allah's mercy, had the treasures of Allah's creation, he would cut down on his wealth for fear that it would be spent, and he would not donate or help anyone. In one of the verses of the Qur'an, Allah says, "You say you have nothing, even though you are not able to consume the sustenance I have given you for a lifetime". That is to say, because man is fond of the wealth and property created by Allah and lives in love with it, he becomes covetous of the wealth created by Allah and forgets Allah, the Creator of these worlds.

Al-Isra Surah, its verse 100, a wrongly interpreted verse; let's look here, let's see, well, how verse 100 of Surah Al-Isra has been wrongly interpreted. Yes. Surah Al-Isra, verse 100: Say: If the treasury of your Lord's mercy you possessed, for fear of it being spent you would hold back more and more; and man is very tight-fisted, it says. Where is the mistake here? I'll read it again. Say: If you possessed the treasury of my Lord's mercy, for fear of it being spent you would hold back more and more; and man is very tight-fisted. Their interpreting this in this way: how do they describe Allah's attributes, the attributes? Allah created man very honorable and created him very beautifully, and created man in the best form, it says. Man, whom He created in the best form, despite creating him so deficient; He does not create him this deficient. That is, "man is very tight-fisted." And the prophets came; they are not tight-fisted.
Scholars, the ulema, friends of Allah, saintly servants. So how shall we render this part?
For fear of it being spent, many people would hold back more and more. When we say "many people", we put this in parentheses. Why? Because, in terms of meaning, the verse's equivalent, the Arabic, the Turkish equivalent, does not carry a meaning that would put in this word. That is, it does not express the word. The meaning is the same: many people. That's what the meaning comes to. That is, for fear of it being spent, many people would hold back more and more. Thus people's hands, such people's hands are very tight. How beautifully He says it. Now.
Ve kuntum ezvâcen selâseh, (?) three classes, it says. Ve ashâbu'l-meymeneti mâ ashâbu'l-meymeneh: those on the right. Ve ashâbu'l-meş'emeti mâ ashâbu'l-meş'emeh: those on the left. Ve's-sâbikûne's-sâbikûn ulâike'l-mukarrabûn fî cennâti'n-naîm, as it says, the foremost, that sentence. In the world of spirits. They were divided into three. Now, can you call all of them wrongdoers? Yes. There are (?). There is the class of the mukarrabin. Well then, can you call all of them tight-fisted? And there are people who have obeyed Allah and submitted. But in the verse, when it says "man", with none of them not being tight-fisted, in the sense that all of them are tight-fisted, (?) Allah created.
No one can oppose what Allah has created. And then you cannot call me to account for the tight-fistedness in us.
For example, He created the animals and programmed them. For the harsh behavior the animals have shown toward one another, He will take their rights from one another; He will not ask them for an account, Allah Almighty; they will vanish. But us, us He left free in our will. So He created very beautifully, too. He also gave a beautiful mind. In this case, not all of us are tight-fisted. Many, many people would hold back more and more. Such people's hands are very tight. In this verse, Allah Almighty declares that He is full of mercy and compassion, and that He makes these gifts to people. Because Allah the Creator has created the universe.
Whatever people, His creatures, need, He has placed on the earth and prepared. Here you go, Abraham's table; it too is from my Lord's mercy, of course; the table of the Prophet Abraham, too, is from our Lord's mercy. Eat and drink, He says, eat and drink but do not waste, and do not be ungrateful, He says; remember the One who offers you this blessing and give thanks to the One who gave you this blessing, He says; I want nothing else from you, He says; do not associate partners with Him, He says; do not associate partners with the One who gave you this blessing. And to His word (?), do not turn your backs.
Your Lord who created you does not want hardship for you, He says. He does not want hardship. In that case, although I set all blessings before you, so that you do not suffer toil in this world I send you My words. I hold a light for you, before you. So that you may live with one another in peace in life in the best way, I send My laws. If you turn your back on your Lord, if you are ungrateful to Him, if you do not like His laws, then you end up in a bind, and you live restless and scattered. As a saint said: what does that saint say? A person who runs every matter by his own mind resembles legless people wearing an artificial leg.
He sets out to change today what he did yesterday, he says. So Allah Almighty, with His noble rulings, since He knows what, until the Day of Resurrection, people will wish and desire, has placed His laws before them; so that mankind may live in the world in a festive atmosphere, so that they may live with one another in friendship, brotherhood and sincerity, Allah Almighty has established the laws people need through verses. In this case, if you do not like these choice laws Allah has sent you, if you call them backward, if you say they belong to the past, if you say they address, well, past ages, in our time, in this time, (?) in the coming time, if you act according to your own mind; it will be a bit harsh, but unfortunately, as Mehmet Akif also said, those who seek civilization in nakedness, "so say animals are more civilized than us," he says; those who strip their wives, families, children stark naked and offer them up to others, those who do not recognize the concept of honor, who, saying "we are civilized", are stripped, then flirt here and there and are deceived, themselves like a rag, though a rag still has some value.
Those rags, those oakum cloths, still clean up dirt. These are the ones who, bringing themselves into a state more wretched than that rag, attempt suicide. Then those who kill each other. Then those who burn each other to escape, to get away from the laws.
If you were governed by Allah's law, would these things happen? Would such unrest have been lived?
Yes.
So man, with the deeds he does, he is human, with some of his deeds he is (?) the animal. They are like the four-legged ones walking the earth, says Allah Almighty. Yes.
So in this verse Allah Almighty declares that He is full of mercy and compassion and that He makes abundant gifts to people. That is, even if the people He has created deny Him, and even if these people, being ungrateful for Allah's blessings, eat and drink the blessings He created and then turn their backs on Allah, Allah gives all people, within their own destinies, so that they keep themselves in check toward Allah and those around them, their complete provision, without lack. Without lack. Now what does He say in the verse?
My mercy is for everyone in the universe. Because, so that people can prove what kind of people they are, Allah Almighty will give them their provision within their destinies. Yes. Throughout their lives He feeds them, gives them drink and nourishes them. But man, if through Allah's mercy he came to own the treasuries Allah created, for fear they would be spent and run out, would hold back his wealth more and more, and to no one would he give any gift or help. In a verse Allah Almighty says: although the provision I have given you, a whole lifetime you could not finish eating, you still say "there is none", He says.
So man, from his attachment to the wealth and property Allah created, and from living with the love of it, is greedy toward the wealth Allah created. Allah, who created these worlds, he forgets.
