Translation

Verily, My verses were read to you but you were turning your back.

Tafsir

On the Day of Judgment Allah will say to those people who disbelieved in Allah and the Hereafter: "Surely My Verses were recited to you, but you turned back. You were proud and arrogant and mocked My Verses and My Prophets among yourselves. You were in disbelief, not believing that you would reach this Day, and you were doing all kinds of filth. In return for your turning your back on me in the world, today you are here alone and desolate.

What is said in the video

In verse 66 of Surah Al-Mu'min: Surely My verses were being recited to you, and you kept turning back on your heels. Yes. We said that Allah Almighty's words confirm one another. Never does one word of His contradict another. Now I will show you a verse. We'll read it here all together. We'll read this verse too.

Listen well. The verses — how wrongly the wrong ones have been interpreted, whereas the right ones — how they confirm one another. Maybe my understanding only goes this far. If these two verses do not fit my right (?) but do fit their (?), tell me that too: Hodja, even though you say so, the right one is this. You have to say that. Yes. Now we read it.

Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 17.

Now I'm reading the wrong one. The wrong one. Listen well to my words. My words — pay attention to the words coming out of the mouth. Their — the hypocrites' — situation is like a fire lit in a dark night. Yes. Well.

I'll read it again. Their — the hypocrites' — situation is like a fire lit in a dark night.

In a dark night the hypocrites cannot light a fire. Why, Hodja, they light so many fires, they shoot fireworks into the air? Here, when Allah Almighty's word says dark night — the Quran is the illuminator. The illuminator of the worlds. Not lit in a dark night, but like a burning fire. In a dark night, the hypocrites, the hypocrites, and like a fire burning in a dark night is their situation. When the fire lights up its surroundings, Allah at once takes away their light, it says. God forbid! God forbid! Whereas the right one: when the fire lights up its surroundings, those who put out the fire leave themselves in darkness. They no longer see.

They turned their backs. Now what does it say here? Surely My verses were being recited to you, and you kept turning back on your heels. Now, is the first one I read right, I wonder, according to this verse? Because verses do not contradict each other. Or is the verse I opened up as right the correct one?

Ender, my child, or another child of ours, this: perhaps, Hodja, you have understood it wrongly. The first one is right. What is the first one? Their, the hypocrites', situation is like a fire lit in a dark night. When the fire lights up its surroundings, Allah at once takes away their light and leaves them in darkness. What is the right one? Their, the hypocrites', situation is like a fire burning in a dark night. When the fire lights up its surroundings, those who put out the fire leave themselves in darkness. They no longer see. Yes.

And here, what does it say? Surely you — My verses were being recited to you, and you kept turning back on your heels.

To whom does He say this? To those who turned their backs on that fire, He says it to non-Muslims who pass to the hereafter.

Allah Almighty, as just said, at the Resurrection, to these people who deny Allah and the hereafter, will say this: Surely My verses were being recited to you, and you kept turning back on your heels. In arrogance and pride, among yourselves, the verses and the prophets — how you mocked them! Not believing you would reach this day, you were in denial, doing every kind of filth. In return for turning your back on Me in the world, today here you are without anyone and alone, He says. How beautiful. Yes.
