The dignitaries from the infidels of his people said; “Just like us, we see you only as a human being. We don’t see anyone else from us following you other than the miserable ones who act with a simple view. And we don’t see any superiority in you over us. To the contrary, we contend that you are liars.”
Tafsir
On the contrary, we think you are liars.
The elders of Noah's people said: We only see you as a human being like us. These people denied the Prophets or the messengers sent by Allah, as we have explained in our previous lessons, because they were expecting the gods they had in their minds, and they imagined that the Prophets were like them, similar to them, frightening them and not allowing them to be intimidated. If only these people knew that Allah loves human beings so much that He created them close to Himself and made them His interlocutors. In this respect, by valuing the human being so highly, he said that he left the human being free in his own will!
Also meaning the elders of his people: They refer to wealthy people. These people have the same character in every age. They boast of the worldly blessings given by Allah. They consider themselves powerful with the material things in their hands. They oppress the poor and create class differences between them in order to make them serve them. In this situation, they consider themselves superior to the poor. Wealthy people with this mentality told Hazrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm', "We see you as a human being just like us. We do not see anyone other than us, our lower class who act with simple views, following you. And we do not see any superiority of you over us." Those who pursued glory and fame by valuing everything in terms of material things, by valuing wealth and property, ignored Allah and those who invited them to salvation, and disbelieved in Allah and His Prophet. People with such pride and arrogance cannot submit to Allah.
Those who disbelieved continued their speech and said: "We do not see any superiority of you over us. On the contrary, we think that you are liars." These disbelieving people spoke recklessly and arrogantly against people who did not have the blessings of the world and against Hadrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm'. They insulted him by saying, "We consider you liars. In return, Noah treated them with mercy.
What is said in the video
Surah Hud,
verse 27. The leading ones of his people who disbelieved said: We see you as nothing but a human like us. This is exactly where people go wrong.
Allah Almighty created us like His own Self. But when we say partial intellect, so that I grasp this, when we say His Self, it cannot be a Self. Like my form. Whereas (?), from a part of Him, Allah Almighty, who created the soul of the Prophet (peace be upon him), from his soul created the souls of all the people to come, from our father Adam until the Day of Judgment, and we all see that no form resembles any other form, that even if close, with different attributes they are distinct from one another. Is that so? From a part of Him. Can you imagine the universal attribute of His whole?
Here is a verse for you. However you know or see Me, I am the opposite of that, the opposite of that, and the opposite of that, He says. Yes. So, having created people like His Self, when He said before them "I am your Lord", the true form He spoke of, the form seen in the address of Elestü bi Rabbiküm, is His true form. Because man saw Allah Almighty as like himself, he could not believe in Him; because he awaited a Lord he imagined, he turned his back on Him. But he grasped that he was created by a Lord. With what? With the intellect given (?). In this case they will not see their Lord. Of course they cannot see Him. Is there a god other than Allah?
You also know that I was created by someone. Then where is it that you go wrong? Your Lord, who took you as a mirror to His Self, who gave you a partial form from His forms, because He held you as His addressee created you closest to Himself, as the noblest of creatures, as the most excellent of the created, and held you as addressee of His Self. He made the partial soul the addressee of the universal Soul.
Now, this man, the souls (?). This man ties souls to one single place, to Allah. Well, where do you tie the soul? Go on, tie it; where will you tie the soul now? Man being the noblest of creatures, his creation as honored above the worlds, comes from the partial soul in him. Since the universal Soul is Allah Almighty, since He says the soul is of My command, to whom besides man are you patching the soul onto? If you had knowledge, if you knew of the Quran, of the verses, if your ear heard the word coming out of your mouth, before your Lord you would be ashamed of your responsibility and could not speak like this.
Prove to me that Allah Almighty patched the soul onto others. Bring me a verse, and I'll leave this place, I'll say. Your knowledge does not reach this far. That is why you cannot examine this Quran. You cannot examine the knowledge I have opened up. You are obliged to learn. And you will learn.
If you put before our young people of this age, whose minds work, books written 100, 150 years ago, you end up facing a youth just like this.
So use your minds. If I put my finger on something, I say nothing I cannot account for. My account is the Quran verses in hand; your account and proof: the opinion of Ahmet or Mehmet, the fabrication of this one or that one. I will further prove to you that the universal Soul belongs to Allah Almighty and that apart from man no (?) created being has a soul, and that this soul you patch onto this and that belongs only to Allah, with many verses, with proofs.
They probably think I learned from some ordinary Ahmet or Mehmet, from someone. They are probably trying to put me on a par with them. They are trying to throw falsehood over the truth and patch it on. But the truth has come and falsehood has become manifest. Do not forget this verse. This is the voice of the Truth, the voice of the spirit of the Quran, this is falsehood being removed, (?), this is the word of the spirit of the Quran. You will learn this. You are obliged to learn.
If you occupy a certain position, toward these people, toward Muslims you are responsible. Do not put your finger on places you do not know, and learn these parts and those parts too, and in the next lesson teach them too. I do not want to force my own opinion on you and make you accept it by saying "this is it". I show you with verses that this is so; you show me a verse that it is not so, and I'll leave this place and go and apologize to you, and to Allah I'll repent and seek forgiveness, and grieving over my own state I'll try to bind myself in covenant to Allah. But show me a verse, show me a verse that the soul is in other beings.
Just as on other websites, Islamic sites, they patch the soul onto this and that, and just as you patch it onto Gabriel, onto the angels, do you never think? How did a soul get into an angel created from light? Actually, a verse. Whatever you are, He says, We send you a prophet of your own kind. If we are humans, a human prophet. If angels, a prophet from the angels. Angels are created from light. Though Gabriel is created from light, how can you call Gabriel a soul? Does your mind accept this?
I am addressing (?) people. I am addressing the people who are at the head of religion.
People may not know. You occupy a certain position. And on top of that you say this man ties the soul only to Allah. How nicely you expose your own shame. Your own shame. You say this man ties it to one single place, and how nicely you expose your shame. We have our CDs in hand. Depending on your answer, we will broadcast to the whole world. To the world, to the whole Islamic world.
You are obliged to listen to me, and you will listen. You will listen. If you are a Muslim, if you want to worship Allah, if you want the truth to be spoken, if you want to live the truth in yourself.
Well, I did not oppose the six thousand some verses written; the wrong rendering of five hundred some verses is what I opposed, in these five hundred some verses, if you attribute qualities to Allah, if you say Allah has no knowledge of the future, if you take people's partial will away from man and patch it onto Allah, if you accuse Allah of injustice, which Muslim stays silent at this?
If I put my finger on these places, if I tried to warn you, you too, with that superstitious mind, about a knowledge you do not know, which we do speak of, say: "You have no authority to examine this." "This is outside your authority." Go on, call this man in. What kind of authority is this? Go on, call him in.
Even though I say it like this, you come and try to throw superstition over the truth. Look, I am telling you with verses. Show me just one verse. This one's or that one's opinion, only "in such-and-such book it comes like this" to me. "It has been written like this for 14 centuries." Say those. Say "in Arabic (?) it comes like this". So that you do not cause a flaw in Arabic, go on attributing qualities to Allah. (?) Is this your seat of guidance? Is this how you occupy that (?) position? Are you not of the community of that prophet who said "if knowledge is in China, go seek it, go take it", you?
I am a person who seeks knowledge. I am a person thirsty for knowledge. If I am wrong, set me right with verses.
Yes.
The leading disbelievers of his people said: We see you as nothing but a human like us, it says. Only a human like us. That is how they see Allah Almighty too anyway. A being like themselves. That is why, My beloved, look in the verse, My beloved, do not mind their denying you, their calling you a liar. In their time they betrayed Me too, He says. How? Although I said I created you, they awaited the Lord of their imagination, and although I gave them being from My soul, as equal to My Self, and took them as a mirror to My Self, they denied Me, He said. A human I created so (?) denied Me, He says.
This is where you go wrong. Here are the points where you processed that superstition into your heads, your brains. Even if your heads were to roll, you would not turn back from it.
Yes.
Well then, between the talk of these disbelievers of Noah's people and your denying this truth, what difference is there? What difference is there?
Only there is faith. Faith, a dry, bare testimony of faith. So now I am calling out to you.
I am calling out to the person who sent me this writing.
I won't say ninety-nine point nine percent.
One thousand five hundred percent, you are in contradiction with yourself. You are in contradiction with yourself. And about the world of the hereafter you are in doubt within yourself.
You are a person who at times struggles with himself. What saves you is that dry faith. A dry faith.
If you say, how can you talk about me like this, I know your insides, your insides. From the words you wrote I know where you are coming from. How beautifully Mevlana Rumi says it. Speak a word to me, he says, and I'll tell you where you stand. If you were aware of the divine manifestations, if you knew the nafs at peace, if you had attained the quality of a believer, you could not have written me this. Here, the proof that you are not a believer, that in a state where you could not reform your own nafs you are in contradiction with yourself, is right here. Shall I show you in a verse? O soul at peace! Your Lord pleased with you and you with your Lord, enter among My servants, enter My Paradise: the person He says this to.
Who is this? The believer. If you were in this state, you could not have written this. So you are a person in contradiction with yourself. You are of no benefit even to yourself. From where will you grasp the truth and speak? From where will you be (?) in this knowledge and speak?
look I keep telling you verses we continue: apart from our lowly class among us who act on shallow judgment, we see no one else following you, it says. Look at the pride, look at the arrogance, the ego and grandeur. Why then did the disbelievers deny? That is already there, because they saw their Lord as like themselves. What did he do? You cannot be my Lord. He awaited the Lord of his imagination. In this case, how beautifully Allah Almighty says it. They will not see their Lord. Because there is no creator other than Allah for them to see as their Lord. Now, when the Diyanet tells us this man puts his finger on certain places, (?) the soul to one place, (?) to one place, he lives in his own dream world, now I am calling out to you.
Do you have any knowledge of souls? Do you have any knowledge of the realm of Lahut? Do you have any knowledge of Elestü bi Rabbiküm? If you had, I swear by Allah, by Allah, God forbid, you could not write such a thing. How deep in ignorance you are, that you are (?) the verses, and that since the founding of the Republic these verses have been covered with ash, and that superstitions were passed off on you as the truth, that you build a building on a building without foundation: you are proving it to me. Hand me that paper from my bag, my dear. Give me my bag. How nicely you prove it.
Bring me my bag, my dear.
give it to me yes, to the (?) words the Diyanet sent, these are the answers we gave, (?) (?) that of these places you put your finger on, not even an atom's weight of these do you know, and that you are unaware of this knowledge, that the verses were covered in ash and superstitions were planted in minds: how nicely you prove it with this, with the words you said with these words you said; we will broadcast this to the world, to the world hand me my bag; we will broadcast this to the world either you will learn this knowledge, this knowledge you will learn, or else we will broadcast you to the whole world; the chip in hand the chip in hand, from this chip we will have it printed we will have copies made, to the places needed, our two-hour twenty-five minute talk, the voice of truth, the spirit of the Quran, we will try to make people hear it.
Yes. Who are you? To put your finger on these places and throw falsehood over the truth.
So that pride and arrogance in them, their desires and wishes, their intentions: in the address of Elestü bi Rabbiküm, when He said I am your Lord, when they made a covenant with Allah's (?) "Where did you get this covenant, Hodja?" In Surah Al-A'raf, verse 172: Bismillahirrahmanirrahim Ve iz ehaze Rabbüke min benî Âdeme My Lord, He says, made a covenant from Adam. Min zuhûrihim zürriyyetehüm. With those who will come forth from his offspring. O you who oppose this! You know this as "in the mother's womb", as they say. Or is it when he came into the world? You have no knowledge of this either. Or is it in the hereafter? If you do not have this knowledge, what are you opposing when you speak?
With those who will come forth from the offspring of the son of Adam. Where? In that address of Elestü bi Rabbiküm. When He said I am your Lord. In the realm of Lahut, when Allah Almighty created the souls, gave them life all at once and said I am your Lord.
All the (?) into three classes. Three.
O you of the right, glad tidings to you. O you of the left, woe to you, He says.
A third group, He says, the group of the foremost, the sabikun. The group of saints, prophets, martyrs, (?). Do you know about this? You pass over these verses too. Covered in ash, covered in ash, you make things up by your own mind and move on. So these were separated there. Those of the left were separated there. Everyone's desire and wish, their intention, was written for them as destiny. This is where destiny comes into being. How does destiny come into being? When Allah Almighty said I am your Lord, they divided into those three groups, and when He made a covenant with each one of them, their desires and wishes, their intentions, since our Lord knew them, their intentions as destiny for them He writes. He instills them in them as characters.
So this coming into being of destiny happens according to the person's desire and intention. Then when man comes into the world, desire and wish begin, according to his intention. According to the characters he wanted. And Allah Almighty, this is His divine attribute, it does not fit into our minds. His creating causes according to the desire and wish of every human, every being He created, and the person working these causes through religious deeds and earning reward and sin. And blessed man, where here do you tie this to Allah's willing? By removing the person's will, and how, attributing justice to Allah, Allah puts whom He wills into Paradise and whom He wills into Hell, you say.
You say Allah created many of mankind and jinn for Hell. This is how you render the verse "cehenneme kesîran mine'l-cinni". Do you not fear Allah at all? You remove Allah's attribute of justice, and when we explain to you that these are wrong, you say this man is acting on his own whim, and this you report to the relevant offices too, without shame, without embarrassment, and in your helplessness. I will disgrace you before the world. I will disgrace you before the whole Islamic world.
Yes. what kind of Muslimhood is this, what kind of standing at the head, at the summit of Islam is this, what kind of rendering of the Quran for the times and addressing of these people; this is not a time when fields are ploughed with oxen; this is a time when computers have come into play, a time when minds work superbly; you might perhaps fool those who plough the fields. But you cannot fool this youth. Your knowledge is not enough for this youth either. It is not enough to guide this youth.
The leading disbelievers of his people said: We see you as nothing but a human like us. He saw Allah Almighty as like himself too. The soul is His part, man too is His part. If I take a drop of water not from a sea but from the seas, one drop, does this one drop of water I took from these seas carry the properties of the seas or not?
In this case, if Allah Almighty, from a part of Him, gave to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from His soul,
and from his soul the souls of the prophets and the peoples, and indirectly all people from our father Adam until the Day of Judgment, from that one part of Him, created people in all the forms that do not resemble each other, can you bear that the form of the universal Soul can (?) change?
Yes. Well, with that whole giving its soul to its part, we said there are many more verses
that there is no soul other than in man. Within these six verses, can you tell me that Allah Almighty, in a verse, gave a soul to such-and-such place too? Can you say it? Other than man, though. But I will show you a verse. We breathed Our soul into Adam, He says, into Adam, and after that We said to Iblis and the angels: prostrate, He said. Prostration. Well, blessed man, to that man in the Diyanet who says "he ties this soul only to Allah", I am calling out from now on. He has no knowledge, but maybe if he listens a bit, he'll learn this way, by a beating. He'll learn. if, when He gave a soul from His part to Adam, He made the angels and Iblis prostrate,
when Iblis played a game of logic and said fire cleans mud, mud cannot clean fire, if Iblis had known that prostrating to Adam, if it was prostration to his soul, he was prostrating to Allah. To Allah. In this case, since Allah Almighty, before giving His soul to Adam, made none of them prostrate, and since He gave Adam His soul and then made them prostrate, can you find a verse in which He made them prostrate to anyone in the universe other than Adam? Find it! In 6600 some verses.
So since the part of the soul is in man, if man was made a mirror to His Self, if He created man so honored above the worlds, how can you this soul to a cat, a dog (?), and how can you ascribe it to other than Allah?
Your hand cannot reach this.
I am talking about those whose heads are spinning with (?).
I have nothing to say to those who grasp these. But those who wrote this writing like this and to the relevant places, the relevant place reported it: I am calling out to them. They have exposed their own helplessness. They have exposed their own shame.
Yes.
Of us, it says, other than our lowly class who act on shallow judgment, who following you do we see? That is, out of pride and arrogance, instead of obeying Allah Almighty and submitting to His prophet, we see the lowly class, the poor and needy. None of us follows you. Because their minds work. You are (?) people anyway. You are lowly people. Right? Out of pride and arrogance, people who discriminate between people, who discriminate, and the ranking among people they rank according to their own minds, people who, looking at differences among people, bring about classes: this (?) has come down from that time until now.
That's where it starts. It starts with pride and arrogance. It starts with ego and grandeur. Seeing themselves as high. Over the servants Allah created, you cannot make any (?). Allah's mercy is in everyone in the universe. People's ranks are between Allah and themselves. How far or close any person is to Him, we cannot know. You cannot even say of priests: this man is a priest. Among them, He says, there are people who pray and give zakat, He says. Then what is this man? Ah, he works as a priest. He works as a priest, I see that. But his inner world, Allah knows best.
His covenant, Allah knows best.
On what basis do I say this? Here's a verse for you. Do not mock any people. That is, do not ridicule, He says. It may be that that people is better than you. That is, looking down on him, seeing him as low, saying this is a non-Muslim, this is a disbeliever, this is an idolater, this is (?). In his present state, perhaps he is. But tomorrow, when he repents, when he returns to his Lord, then, among those people, those who will return are perhaps even above my rank. So you cannot step between Allah and the servant and pass Allah's judgment on the servant.
