Tafsir
Hazrat Noah (peace be upon him) started to build the ark upon the revelation of Allah (swt). However, the prominent people of his people, that is, the people who had wealth, used to mock Hadrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm' whenever he visited them.
They think that Hazrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm' was just like some crazy or unintelligent people who put things on their heads and worked on them, that he was working on his own, that he was living in his own world of imagination. They see him as a person who was convinced that something would happen. In that case, they would continue to ridicule Noah. Allah (swt) says in His Verse (Say: If you mock us, know well that we will mock you as you mock us). Hadrat Noah (peace be upon him) is a Prophet. Prophets have more intelligence than human beings. Moreover, Allah reveals the unseen to His Prophets as much as He wishes. In this respect, people with limited intellect cannot believe in what Prophets do or say because they cannot comprehend it. However, people with faith will attain peace and prosperity if they follow them. The people of Hadrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm' did not believe Hadrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm' in this respect. This is because they made their egoistic feelings and desires their destiny while they were determining their own destiny. In this respect, they were people who had dulled their senses of sight and hearing. If they had used their intellect and obeyed reason to determine their own destiny, they would have followed Allah's inviters, heard and seen the truth, and would have attained salvation.
When these foolish people in the people of Hazrat Noah's people mocked Hazrat Noah, Hazrat Noah both pitied them and told them the verse that Allah had revealed to him, saying, "If you mock us, know well that we will mock you as you mock us".
What is said in the video
We have now come to Surah Hud, verse 38.
Noah is building the ship. And whenever the notables of his people passed by him, they mocked him. Just as I said a moment ago. He has lost his mind, he was crazy anyway. here he is carving trees, trying to make something, they said, mocking him. Noah is building the ship; whenever the notables of his people passed by him, they mocked him. Say: if you mock us, know well that just as you mock, we too will mock you. That is, when that day comes and (?) boils with a boiling, when from the sky in the form of a flood rains pour down, when the water on earth joins the water of the sky, when the whole world is under water, the world, it is then that, just as you mocked us, because to the hereafter you go denying Allah, we too will mock you, He says.
Allah Almighty says this to them: we too will (?) you when the time comes. Yes, then, when all except those who believed in Noah have perished, Allah Almighty gives His command. O earth, swallow your water, and from the sky, hold back your water, He says. That is, the rains from the sky stop, and on earth the waters recede. And finally the world, in the form we see now, becomes fit for human life.
Upon Allah Almighty's revelation, Noah (peace be upon him) begins to build the ship, but the notables of his people, people of (?), whenever they passed by Noah (peace be upon him), would mock him. Like some madmen, or madmen, or senseless people who get something into their heads and keep busy with it, they thought Noah (peace be upon him) too had got something into his head and was busy with it on his own, living in a dream world by himself. They saw him as a man who had convinced himself that something would happen.
So they kept on mocking Noah. So Allah Almighty, in His verse: say, if you mock us, know well that just as you mock, we too will mock you. Yes. Noah (peace be upon him) is a prophet. The prophets' reason is greater than that of people. Because Allah Almighty guides them with His verses. Of course, by teaching His prophets many things they do not know, He sends His prophets as the elder and father of their people, and before their people as light and illumination, as proof. Since no prophet will come after the Prophet, and since scholars are the heirs of the prophets, scholars too, exactly in the position of the prophets, before people are (?) as proof and light.
The prophets' reason is greater than that of people. Moreover, Allah reveals to His prophets as much of the unseen as He wills. From the unseen, for example, that He would send the flood to Noah, and from the unseen how the ship would be built, oh, that all the people in the world would drown, His telling him to take those who believe in you onto the ship — all this is Allah giving news from the unseen. It is His informing His prophet of what will happen later. Yes. Therefore people of little reason, what the prophets do or say their minds cannot grasp, so they do not believe.
But believing people, as they follow them, attain salvation and peace. So the people of Noah (peace be upon him) too, in this respect, did not believe Noah (peace be upon him). Because, while determining their own destinies, they had their carnal feelings and desires written for them as destiny. Therefore they are people who have (?) the senses of sight and hearing in themselves. Using their reason, obeying reason, they had their own destinies determined. In this case, had they had their own destinies determined that way, they would surely follow Allah's callers, see the truth (?), (?) salvation everywhere.
So when these senseless people among the people of Noah (peace be upon him) mocked Noah, Noah both pitied them and, reciting to them the verse Allah had revealed to him by revelation: if you mock us, know well that just as you mock, we too will mock you, he said. Everything has a coming-about, that coming-about has a time; when that time comes, the decree of Allah Almighty becomes manifest. His command becomes manifest. And in this case, in this case Allah Almighty tells the believers: you be patient. Be patient. Be patient. In many places of the Quran Allah Almighty says be patient, He says. Be patient.
In fact, to us, spiritually, while I was just maturing, Allah Almighty, to my heart, my heart, by inspiration: Such a time has begun: recommend to My servants patience. Such a time has begun: recommend to My servants patience. We will be patient.
Through our conduct and through our words, we will warm people not to ourselves, but to Islam.
Yes, we have come to Surah Hud, verse 39.
Soon you will know upon whom will come the punishment that disgraces him and upon whom a lasting punishment will descend, He says. Allah protect us.
