Translation

(Eventually), Allah Commanded; “Oh land, take in the water. And oh sky, keep out (your water)!” The water was taken in, and the deed was completed. (And the ship) landed on (mount) Judi. And it was said; “Far away shall be that nation of oppressors”.

Tafsir

Allah (swt) said to the earth, 'Swallow your water and hold your water, O sky. Do they have life and life in them that they are addressed in this way? The meaning of this verse is that Allah, the Owner of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, judges them with His knowledge and fulfills His will with His knowledge. Here, when He says "swallow the water of the earth", He means that He intends the waters to recede. He told the heavens to hold back the water to show that He intended to stop the rain in the form of a deluge.

His commanding the earth and the heavens to show how this will of his is fulfilled and how the heavens and the earth obey his command is actually to show his own knowledge and the fulfillment of his will. He says, "The earth was told to swallow its water and the heavens were told to hold its water," in terms that people can understand, so that they can understand more easily.

So the waters receded and the work was finished. Allah willed it, the tribes to be destroyed and those who were wicked on the earth were destroyed. All living creatures except the ark of Noah were destroyed and Allah's will was fulfilled. In other words, things were finished as Allah intended.

And the ark settled on Mount Judi. The meaning here is that this ship will remain on this mountain and cannot be moved by people, and that the construction of this ship will remain a mystery, and that when it is searched for and found, in the course of time, only a trace of it will be found on the mountain on which it sits.

And the people who rebelled against Allah were drowned in the water and perished, and Allah addressed the people who were left behind, saying: "And the souls of the wrong-doers will go to Hell." He informs us that they are eternal Hell-dwellers and that they have bought the eternal and everlasting misery, sorrow, grief and torment of an eternal and immortal life.

What is said in the video

(?) Surah Hud, verse 44 (?).

Verse 44. Finally: O earth — Allah Almighty, in the verse, says 'finally'. O earth, swallow your water. That is, Allah Almighty wills that the water recede; it is not that to the water He is commanding — (?) that it should swallow its water, that is, that the earth swallow the water. His will, that is: We, Our will has been fulfilled, those We were to destroy have been destroyed. After this, for the ship to finally settle on land, and for its people to multiply again on the earth, to prepare the ground of a piece of land for them, Allah Almighty, by His knowledge and power, had the water once more recede back, and it was said: O sky, withhold your water; that is, He stopped the rains.

And also, well: to Hell with that wrongdoing people, was said. To Hell with the wrongdoing people. Those who did not carry out Allah's command anyway, they, anyway, their destinies in that way (?), people who had their wishes written as their destiny. Because Allah Almighty knows this, He says: to Hell with that wrongdoing people. They are for Hell anyway. Yes. It was said by Allah Almighty to the earth: swallow your water, and: O sky, withhold your water. Do these have life, that they were addressed in this way?

What is meant in the verse is Allah, the Owner of all the heavens and the earth and what is between them, ruling them by knowledge, and whatever His will is, His carrying out that will by His knowledge.

Here, His saying 'swallow your water' is His willing the waters to recede. His saying to the heavens 'withhold your water' is to show that He willed the flood-like rain to be stopped. That is, that Allah Almighty, by His knowledge and power, holds the universe under His rule, He shows us here once more. Now, what does this resemble? For Allah these events are very easy, very simple. Take a computer, write a program; through the computer you can make water boil up from the ground, and make water come down from the sky. And inside the computer, with this program, you flood these places, the lands, and you can make rain fall from the sky as you wish.

With a program you simulate this on the computer. For Allah Almighty, who possesses universal reason and universal knowledge, what you do with your partial reason will of course be easy. These things are very easy for Allah. Yes.

To show how this will of His is fulfilled and how the heavens, the earth and what is between them obey His command — His commanding the earth and the heavens is in fact to show His own knowledge and His fulfilling of His own will. O, swallow your water.

Come on, let it swallow. But Allah makes it swallow that water through knowledge. For example, Allah Almighty said 'kun', that is, 'be'.

That is not with sound and letters. But many people, many, right? a great many people think it is like this. They think it happens with sounds and letters. That is, Allah willed it, said 'be', and it was. It just came to be — it is not like that. If it had just come to be like that, Allah Almighty would not have said: We created the earth in two days, the heavens in two days, and what is between them in two days. He would have said: when We say 'be', We create it instantly, at once. That is, the meaning here is our Lord's will. Whatever He calls His will, He creates within His knowledge and power.

Yes. In this case, His saying to the heavens 'withhold your water' and to the lands 'swallow your water' is, by Allah Almighty's knowledge and power, the dispersal of the clouds, and His saying to the earth 'swallow your water' is the waters once more receding back through the pores. Now, all these substances have come about from the combination of elements. The elements: hydrogen, oxygen, well, carbon dioxide, nitrate — such substances, through their combinations, the elements, and through the combination of those elements, produce the substances. So many millions, perhaps billions of substances all come about from the combination of these elements.

In this case, when Allah Almighty sends the clouds in the sky an opposing element that will disperse them, even if those clouds would rain, they do not rain. For example, when hydrogen and oxygen combine, this does not necessarily mean it will be water. But if two hydrogens and one oxygen combine, they form water. In this case, if Allah Almighty makes the hydrogen a bit more, and sends the oxygen a bit more, if He disrupts the combination, those waters, the waters raining from the sky too, stop. Allah Almighty is capable of everything through His knowledge and power. He creates by His knowledge. By His knowledge.

Yes. To show how this will of His is fulfilled, how the heavens, the earth and what is between them obey His command — His commanding the earth and the heavens is in fact to show His own knowledge and His fulfilling of His own will. That is: when I will it, look, I made even such boiling waters be swallowed. I have it drawn into the earth. And by making the earth boil like this, boil like a tandoor, well, I drown the lands in water as well. And the heavens, whenever I wish, I make rain like this. And whenever He wishes, I cut off the rains like this. This is within Allah's knowledge and power. Yes.

His saying to them, to the earth 'swallow your water' and to the heavens 'withhold your water', is to show His own knowledge, His knowledge to people. So that people understand more easily, it means declaring, with a concept people understand, that to the earth 'swallow your water' and to the heavens 'withhold your water' was said. Now, suppose Allah Almighty — how He made the heavens rain, how He made them rain as a flood — had made that knowledge known to us, and how He made the waters gush like this from the earth — had made that knowledge known to us, these people, with knowledge of these, with this knowledge, acting in this way, in the way Allah Almighty made known to us, would destroy all the (?).

these people would do this. For this reason Allah Almighty, by keeping this knowledge to Himself, gives life to people and at the same time makes known to us that He is the owner of great knowledge. He makes known to us that whenever He wishes, whatever He wishes, He carries out His will. Yes.

So the waters receded, the matter was finished. Those Allah willed to be destroyed, and within the earth, the (?) were destroyed. All living beings outside the ship of Noah (peace be upon him) were destroyed, and Allah's will was fulfilled. That is, in the way Allah willed, yes, in the way He willed, it was finished. And the ship was settled upon Mount Judi. Yes.

The meaning of its being settled here is that this ship would remain on this mountain and could not be carried away by people, and also that the building of this ship would remain a secret, and that when this ship is searched for and found, in the time that has passed, the ship would be come upon only through what it left on the mountain where it settled. So, with those who rebelled against Allah perishing by drowning in the water, Allah Almighty, addressing the people left behind, said: and to Hell with that wrongdoing people. That they are eternally people of Hell, that of an endless and deathless life the eternal and endless torment, pain and grief, its punishment, they have bought — this it makes known to us.

Yes.

Always like this, and when destructions, destructions are mentioned, a couplet I wrote always comes to mind.

We put that couplet in the (?) too. You know: this world is not worth this uproar, let the mountains move from their places — we wrote that. Truly, this world is not worth it. It is not worth this pomp, this splendor.
