Tafsir
Hadrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm' called out to Allah for his son: O my Lord! Surely my son is from my family. Surely Your promise is true, You are the judge of judges. Here, however, Noah out of compassion and out of a soft heart wanted to pray to Allah for his son. Allah said, 'Do not pray for those who do not believe in me and do not acknowledge your Prophethood. In the thirty-seventh verse of this Surah, he said, "Build the ship and do not tell me anything about the wrongdoers! They will surely drown.
It was because Hazrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm' saw his son from his own family and did not want to lump him in with those who would be left behind, that is, with the disbelievers. He wanted to pray to Allah (swt) in the hope that Allah (swt) would forgive him because he was his own son. He wanted to ask Allah for forgiveness for his son, based on the verse, 'O Noah, put your family on the ark. But put those who believe in you on board the ship, although he knew the verse, he sought Allah's mercy and asked for his son's forgiveness because he was from his own family.
What is said in the video
Surah Hud, the 45th verse. Noah prayed to his Lord and said: O my Lord, surely my son is also of my family. And Your promise is surely true. You are the Judge of judges. he says. That is, in the position of a father, especially since it is his child, he makes a plea to Allah Almighty. He too is of my family, he says. What does he say? O my Lord, surely my son is also of my family, he says. Of my family. That is, if You would forgive him for my sake; and Your promise is surely true, he says. Whatever You command is certainly true. You are the Judge of judges. You do nothing wrong, he says. Yes. You are surely the one who gives the most right decision.
At the same time he submits to Allah Almighty. With a father's heart he tries to protect his son, and at the same time, Allah Almighty being the Judge of judges, to the decision Allah Almighty will give he bows his head. If there is a shortcoming in what he will do, he seeks refuge in Allah. Yes. Noah (peace be upon him), pleading with Allah for his son: O my Lord! Surely my son is also of my family. Your promise is surely true. You are the Judge of judges, he said. Yet here Noah, out of his mercy and soft-heartedness, to Allah for his child wanted to make a prayer. Allah Almighty said: For those who do not believe in Me and do not confirm your prophethood, do not pray to Me.
In verse 37 of this surah: Build the ship, and do not speak to Me about those who do wrong. They will surely be drowned, He said. We are recalling the earlier verse. And according to this verse, Noah (peace be upon him) on the one hand says to Allah Almighty, out of mercy: I wonder, will my Lord forgive him because he is of my family? And on the other hand he fears: will I commit an error toward Allah Almighty? He fears. And in His presence (?) for the Judge of judges, (?) I submit to the decision, he says. Yes.
So, Noah (peace be upon him) seeing his son as of his own family comes from his not wanting to lump him together with those to be left behind, that is, the disbelievers — not wanting that. Because his son, with the disbelievers, he did not want to lump together.
Here, Noah (peace be upon him) seeing his son as of his own family came from not wanting to lump him together with those to be left behind, that is, the disbelievers; since it was his own son, hoping Allah would forgive him, to Allah Almighty he wanted to make a prayer. That is, relying on the verse 'put that family aboard the ship', from Allah for his son he wanted to (?) forgiveness. That is, he says this relying on some points he could hold on to. But: put those who believe in you aboard the ship. Although he knew this verse, taking refuge in Allah's mercy, because his son was of his own family, he wished for his son's pardon.
Yes. You know, there are some criminals. Criminals. Well, the sultan wants to imprison that criminal. Meanwhile, the criminal's father or relative, who is close to the sultan, pleads with the sultan for his crime to be pardoned, you know — like that. Like that. Noah too, for his son: I wonder, will my Lord forgive him? His saying: you know, he is of our family.
But Allah Almighty's command is true. With Him, whatever was in the past is also what will be in the future. If he is a wrongdoer, mercy will be lifted from the wrongdoing people, and he is not of your family, He says.
