(Oh My Messenger!) Or do you ask them for a fee? The reward of your Lord is better. Ultimately, Allah provides the provisions (all the sustenance and needs).
Tafsir
Allah (swt) is aware of everything, yet He says in the verse: O Messenger! Did you demand a wage from them for your Prophethood and for entrusting them with the truth?" Allah (swt) said, "I know that you do not continue your duty for a wage. For you know that your Lord is the best of providers. So their disbelief in you is because of their former covenant with Allah and their disbelief in Allah.
The owner of the universe is Allah. Allah sustains people within the will of people. People can receive sustenance from people. This sustenance from people is temporary. When Allah takes back this sustenance from the people to whom He has given sustenance, those people also become needy. Therefore, Allah is the best of providers, for Allah, who does not need anything, has created sustenance for human beings.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 72. My Messenger, or are you asking them for a payment? That is, O My Beloved, when you convey My command to them, when you tell them the verses, are you asking for a payment in return for the verses? And the Prophet himself says: O my companions, O you who believe, O you who listen to me, I ask no payment from you, I expect my payment from my Lord, he says; my payment is from my Lord, it is upon my Lord, not upon you, he says. Yes, and we say the same: in return for telling you, we expect no payment from you, Allah forbid, our payment is upon our Lord. My Messenger, or are you asking them for a payment? The reward of your Lord is better, it says.
You expect it from your Lord anyway. He is the best of providers, it says. That is, not necessarily in this world; true sustenance is in the hereafter; this world, it says, is a place of brief enjoyment. So we receive sustenance in a place of brief enjoyment, but our eternal sustenance is in the eternal hereafter. People say: Hodja, is there eternity in the Holy Quran? That is, does "eternal" occur in it? Now some say there is no eternity in the Quran, in the Quran, some say. Now let us see where eternity is in the Quran.
I came across it somewhere here. If I can find it, I will show you, inshallah.
Let us look at the thirty-ninth verse of Surah Al-Baqarah. What does the thirty-ninth verse of Surah Al-Baqarah say?
Yes.
Those who deny Our verses and fall into kufr, they are the people of Hell, they are its people, they will remain in that fire eternally. Eternally. Another one: Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 81, let us see what it says there: Truly, whoever earns sin and kufr and is surrounded by his sins from every side, such people are the people of Hell, they will remain there eternally. Where else does it say it? In verse 82: those who believe and do righteous deeds, they are in Paradise, the people of Paradise, they will remain there eternally. So, people, where is "eternal in Paradise"? Those who say they too will serve their punishment there and come out, this is for them.
Not for those who believe. Well, so our Lord has written everything out, laid it down and made it known to us. Yes. The true sustenance, our sustenance, the best of providers, and I will benefit from every kind of sustenance so that I will enjoy it, taste it, and the sustenance our Lord offers us I will eat with delight and pleasure; where is this? In the hereafter, because it is eternal. Paradise is eternal too. Well, in Hell they will also eat, but look what it says. There they will eat from the fruit of the zaqqum tree. The fruit of the zaqqum tree is like the head of Satan, it says. It is all lumpy.
When they eat it, a fire will fall inside them, it says. It will be as if it tears their intestines apart. And he will be thirsty, it says. We will give him hot water, mixed water, it says. With pus, that is. We will give mixed water, it says. He will drink the way camels drink. Allah protect us. Allah protect us. So who is the best of providers? Say it is Ahmet or Demet. You work there. He gives you your wage, but the one who makes him give that wage, and the one who gives to the giver, is Allah. So the best: in the hereafter, if, with the good deeds we did in this world, we attain our Lord's mercy, in the hereafter we will attain the best, the finest, the purest of that sustenance, inshallah.
Yes.
Although Allah Almighty is aware of everything, His saying in the verse: O My Messenger, or did you, because of your prophethood and because you delivered the truth to them, ask them for a payment? This means Allah Almighty says: I too know that you do not carry on your duty in return for a payment. Because you also know that the best of providers is your Lord. So their denials of you stem from the covenants they gave Allah before, and from their denial of Allah.
The universe, and the owner of this universe, is Allah. Allah provides for people within people's wishes. People can receive sustenance from people. This sustenance received from people is temporary. When Allah takes this sustenance back from the people He gave it to, those people too come (?) into need. So, since Allah, who is in need of nothing, created His provisions for people, Allah is the best of providers. Yes.
