Tafsir
Allah (swears by His Essence) exposes the condition of these people by informing us and the people who will come until the Day of Resurrection. Those who deny Allah in their nature, do not believe in the Hereafter, associate partners with Allah, or seek other ideologies as if there is a God other than Allah and a religion other than Islam! They worship the stories they have invented and call religion. These people continue to deny Allah out of pride and arrogance, despite the fact that Allah (swt) has put these people through hardship according to His verse in which He says, "We do not put on your backs a burden that you cannot bear". They continue their denial of Allah in a show of heroism so that they will not be humiliated in the presence of the people in whose ideology they find strength. In this state, they cannot seek forgiveness from Allah (swt).
These people cannot repent to Allah (swt) with humility. O Allah, I was on a wrong path, I disbelieved in You and associated You with shirk. I disbelieved in the last Prophet whom You sent and the Holy Qur'an which You sent with him and the religion of Islam which You revealed as a religion. Now I realize that if I continue on this path, I will not be able to save myself from Your wrath. O Allah! You are gracious and merciful. You are abundant in forgiveness and mercy. I regret what I have done, and I promise to obey You and never stray from Your path again, forgive me. Even if the sins of such people reached the clouds in the sky, Allah would forgive them and grant them His mercy. But these people cannot show this humility. Because those who think that the rebellion in their nature and their denial of Allah and their filth for their desires are life, cannot turn to Allah, considering it a disgrace to leave them. O man! For a momentary moment of worldly pleasure, with this pride and arrogance, is the eternal and everlasting life to be disregarded and torments to be suffered? Have you ever contemplated the torments of the everlasting life, in addition to the torments of the everlasting life, when you could not tolerate the troubles in the worldly life of a few hours, and raged in rebellion? Allah is the Almighty, there is no time for repentance. Before the moment of death comes, before the doors of repentance are closed, turn to your Lord. There is no God, nor Lord, nor ruler besides Him.
What is said in the video
We are starting our lesson. Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 76. Indeed, We afflicted them with hardship, yet they did not bow to their Lord. Nor do they show humility and supplication. Who are these? Non-Muslims. We give them, it says, 3 or 2 calamities a year. Still, it says, still they show no humility toward Us. That is, they do not turn back to Us. And, it says, indeed, We afflicted them with hardship, yet they did not bow to their Lord. Still they do not bow. They do not say: O my Lord, we have erred.
Semih has understood, he says. I understood, sir, he says. He does not say: O my Lord, we have erred. Forgive us. How beautiful. Allah Almighty also gives an example of this in the Holy Quran. About Jonah: He sends a prophet to Jonah's people. However much Jonah told them, his people would not lend an ear to what he told them. And: Am I to be a prophet to people like you, he says, that is, to tell you? And he leaves and goes. Are you one to leave your people? When he boards a ship, as the ship struggles amid the waves, they say: We will throw someone into the sea, we will draw lots. The lot falls to Jonah (peace be upon him).
Well, they lift him and throw him into the sea. Allah Almighty, of course, a fish comes, ready. It takes him. Some say in its belly. Some say on its back. Well, after roaming the sea, it becomes uneasy. By our Lord's command it brings him out onto land. There he lies unconscious. Allah Almighty, at his head, makes a fruit of the gourd kind grow. He eats of its fruit. And its leaves give him shade. When he comes to himself, what does he say? Lâ ilâhe illâ ente sübhâneke innî küntü mine'z-zâlimîn. O my Lord. I have understood, he says, I have wronged my own self. Forgive me, he says. How beautifully he says it. A person makes mistakes.
He does. Well then, you too, turn to Allah, turn to your Lord. He does not turn. Pride and arrogance. That is how they are. This is in their covenant. Because when they made the covenant with our Lord, when they made the covenant with our Lord, they denied Allah. They denied their own Creator. In that case Allah Almighty says: They are lying unbelievers. Lying unbelievers. Their words are not to be believed. One does not set out on the road with them. When a pact is made with them, tie your pact tightly, says Allah Almighty. Tie it tightly. When they are about to be defeated, they invite you to the table.
And that is how it actually goes. At the table, in the agreement, they put you in a losing position. Well. In this situation they tell every kind of lie. Every kind of lie. And pride and arrogance and grandeur never let them come near to turning often to Allah, to bowing down.
Perhaps even Satan does not have this much pride. Satan. Now these are worse even than Satan. The non-Muslims. When he says it, I will prove what I said. I will prove to you that they are more accursed than Satan. At the Battle of Badr, to the Meccan polytheists Satan says: Muhammad's side is getting ready to attack you, well. He stirs them up. He comes all the way to Badr. He comes out in front of the non-Muslims, the idol worshippers, and there he says exactly this: If you had seen what I
see, you would not stay here; count me out, he says, and he turns back; he sees the angels Allah sent, and he fears Allah, he goes back, and at one point he also says: I fear Allah, I fear. These ones cannot even say that. Even that they cannot say. So truly, these are the people of the earth worse even than the accursed one. Yes. Allah Almighty, swearing by His own Self, these people's condition, making it known to us and to the people who will come until the Day of Judgment, (?). Allah Almighty makes these things clear to people. Yes.
That is, those in whose nature lies the denial of Allah, who do not believe in the hereafter, who associate partners with Allah, or who, within other ideologies, as if there were a god besides Allah and another religion besides Islam, go searching, cling to the stories they invented themselves and also call religion. Allah Almighty, according to the verse where He says: We do not put on your backs within their destinies what you cannot bear; although they are cast into hardship, these people, out of pride and arrogance, keep on denying Allah. In front of the people from whom they draw strength within their own ideologies, so as not to lose face, by denying Allah, in a display of heroism they continue their denial.
In this state they do not seek pardon and forgiveness from Allah Almighty. Yes.
So these people, toward Allah Almighty, with humility, (?) are unable to. O Allah, I was on a wrong path, by denying You, I associated partners with You. The last prophet You sent, and the Holy Quran You sent with him, and the religion of Islam that You made known as the religion, I denied. Now I have understood that if I continue on this path, I cannot save myself from Your wrath. O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful, abundant in pardon and full of mercy. I regret what I have done. I promise never again to leave Your path and to obey You. Forgive me, if he said that: Allah after all wished His Self to be known by people. Even if the sins of such people reached the clouds in the sky, Allah would, with pardon and forgiveness, let them attain His mercy.
The Prophet says so.
Even if your sins reached the clouds in the sky, when you repent with an intense heart, We will change your sins into good deeds, he says. Yes. Because those who, through the rebellion in their nature and the denial of Allah, take their filth driven by the whims of the nafs for living, regarding it as degrading to part from it, cannot return to Allah.
O human! For a fleeting, momentary worldly pleasure, with this pride and arrogance, should the eternal and lasting life be kicked away, and should one be left subject to torment upon torment? While you cannot bear hardships in a few hours of worldly life, besides your raging in rebellion, have you ever, reflecting on the torment of the lasting life, thought about it? Allah (?). Repentance has no set time. Before the moment of death comes, before the doors of repentance close, return to your Lord. Apart from Him, neither a god nor a Lord nor a holder of judgment exists. Yes.
