So that I can commit righteous deeds in the world that I idled in.” No! Verily, what he says is a mere (empty) word. And there is a realm of Barzakh waiting for them, until the Day in which they will be resurrected (from death).

Tafsir

This disbelieving person, when he is in the state of death, begs Allah (swt) to send me back to this world. He says, "Let me spend my wasted time, these dark times of disbelief and shirk, in worshipping you.

Allah (swt) says, "No, your speech is nothing but empty talk. In this case, why does Allah (swt) not give man another opportunity? He will not send them back to the world, saying that what they speak is empty talk.

In reply, we say that Allah (swt) is the Truth. When Allah (swt) made a covenant with these people at Kalu Bela, these people denied Allah (swt), whom He created very close to them, even though they knew that they were created. In this case, they believed in the Lord of their own imagination, of their own dreams. This state of theirs, their desires and wishes, is written for them as their destiny. Therefore, if these people were to come back to this world not once but several times, they would commit the same deed. They will never stop denying Allah.

No matter where you show the movie taken by a camera, it always shows the same things. Whatever a person is destined to do, that is what he will live and he will not be able to go beyond that. Therefore, their begging to Allah (swt) and saying, 'Send me back to this world and see how I will worship you' is nothing but self-deception. Allah (swt) knows what they will do, for He has written this condition for them as their destiny. Therefore Allah (swt) declares that their talk is empty talk.

If these people had repented in the Hereafter and truly submitted to Allah in their hearts, Allah would have forgiven them after they had served their punishments. Accordingly, Allah (swt) says (if only they had repented there) means that in any case, these people would have expressed their repentance with their tongues in order to be released from their punishments. In their hearts, they remain in Hell for eternity because they feel that their imagined Lord will save them and they are waiting for the day when they will take revenge on Him for punishing them for their enmity against Allah, our Creator and Creator. Since they have their will in their hands and they have programmed themselves according to this program, they will not be able to get out of this situation for eternity. They can never return to Allah. Therefore, He says that their words are empty talk.

These people are returned to the realm of Berzah, the grave of our souls, where our souls wait until the day they are resurrected. We have explained the realm of Berzah in the previous verses, and to briefly mention it here, Allah created our souls in the realm of Lahut. Then He told them at Kalu Bela that I am your Lord. Then He made a covenant with them. Then each soul was taken to a waiting place called the realm of Berzah, the tombs of souls, until a time when each soul would come to earth. Then, when the time has come for the soul to come to the world, then, according to its covenant, it is returned to its grave in the realm of Berzah, the place from which it was first lifted, until the day of its resurrection.

What is said in the video

Now what does that wrongdoer say? So that I may do good deeds and acts in the world I wasted, he says. No, these words of his are nothing but empty talk. Why are they nothing but empty talk?

You tell me, Emre. I think it's because they are liars at the root that they are lying, sir. Right.

A little more (?). You tell, open it up a bit more. I say the same thing too. I'll say it the same way. All right, let me open it up a bit. Because of their covenant at the address Elestü bi-Rabbiküm, its opening, this is the opening of it. When they made the covenant, since their wishes and desires, their aims, became their destiny, and since these destinies will not change, they (?). Yes. Those are empty talk. What does Allah Almighty say? If We do not will, you cannot will. What does this mean? That is, according to this covenant I have taken from people, if there is anyone who will change these destinies I have written for them, it is I.

But a word has also gone forth from Me. Paradise (?) Hell. Why? Are those who know and those who do not know equal?

Is one who knows our Lord and obeys equal to one who rebels against our Lord? In this case, since Allah Almighty, the Just, will not change their destinies again either, why will He not change them? If He had changed them, He would not have sent us to the world, He would have abolished Hell and put us all in Paradise. It's that simple.

So that in the world I wasted I may do good deeds and acts, he says. The person, at that moment of death. No, He says. These words of his are nothing but empty talk. And before them there is a barzakh lasting until the day they will be resurrected, (?). Barzakh. That is, the place where souls wait. The place where our soul waits.

What does it say?

Ve min verâihim berzahun ilâ yevmi yub'asûn. Yes. And before them there is a barzakh lasting until the day they will be resurrected, He says. Indeed, when He made the covenant with our souls, He raised our souls to the barzakh. From the barzakh He sends the soul whose time has come into the mother's womb. From the mother's womb, when the person comes into the world, he proves what kind of person he is. With death he goes back to his place. He goes to the barzakh. Until when? Until the Last Day. Indeed: and before them, until the day they will be resurrected. That is, the Last Day comes, and in the realm of the Hereafter the earth is another earth, He says.

When the sky is another sky, when the earth is brought there completely flattened, He says. (?) That is where we will be resurrected. We will all head toward the place of gathering. Yes, these parts would need a broader explanation, in more detail, but that is outside our lesson. So this denying person, while in the state of death, pleading with Allah Almighty: send me back to the world again. My wasted times, that is, these dark times when I was in kufr and shirk, let me spend them in worship of You, he says. In answer to this, in reply to this, Allah Almighty says no. Your talk is nothing but empty words.

In this case, why does Allah Almighty not give a person one more chance? Saying that what they say is nothing but empty talk, He does not send them back to the world, I wrote. We probably explained this here; let's see, did we explain them? Yes, we explained it here with a long text, sir; we probably wrote at length. Let's read this part, shall we? We get the answer from our lesson. We say, it says, Allah Almighty is the Truth itself. When Allah Almighty made the covenant with people at kâlû belâ, these people, although they knew they had been created, Allah, who created very close to them, they denied.

Now let me open this up a bit for you here: when it says very close to them, it's not like facing each other a few meters apart.

In terms of attributes, since they saw Him close, in the form of a human figure, since they saw Him like a human, Allah Almighty, that He created them, they did not believe. They waited for the Lord of their own imagination. That is where they fell into denial. And so Allah Almighty says to them: do you never use your reason? What is this using one's reason? Well, if, if, suppose that I did not create you. This is reason. Suppose that I did not create you. That's what I was thinking there. Suppose it's not this one. Someone else created us. If I believe in this one, that one will reveal himself.

And together with him he will destroy those who believe in him, I say. I think this. Let me gain time, I say. Surely all these people, if there is that other Lord who created us, that is, a god, to this one, I say, he will not hand over to us. That is, he will not hand this over to us. He will not hand this over to us, I say. What will he do? He will reveal himself. No one has come forth. Isn't this enough for you? You too were created. You see that you suddenly exist. You suddenly see your existence. You claim that you were created. In this case, is there any way out other than submission? No. So, because it was created close to them, they denied Allah.

In this case, they believed in the Lord they themselves imagined, the Lord of their own imagination. These states of theirs, these wishes and desires, have been written for them as destiny. Therefore, even if these people came to the world not once but several more times, they would do the same thing. They would never give up denying Allah.

Wherever you show a film shot by a camera, it always shows the same things. So too, a person will live whatever he desired in his destiny, and will not be able to get out of it. Therefore, their pleading with Allah Almighty and the words, send me back to the world, look how I will worship You, are nothing but these people deceiving themselves. Since Allah Almighty wrote these states of theirs for them as destiny, He knows what they will do. Therefore Allah Almighty makes known that their talk is empty talk. Empty talk.

If these people had felt remorse in the realm of the Hereafter too and truly submitted to Allah in their hearts, after they served their punishment, Allah would forgive them. If they had fully believed. What does it say? If only they had known here, it says. This part too, as they see fit: if only they had known beforehand, that is, in the world, it says. If it said beforehand, that works. That is, it refers to the address Elestü bi-Rabbiküm: if only they had known there. Yes. That works too. Beforehand works. But since they mean the world, they remove Elestü bi-Rabbiküm: if only he had known here. That is, look what they do here: they imagine.

For example: we took a promise from the Children of Israel, but he did not keep my word. For example, as an illustration. Sir, (?) Allah Almighty says, We made a covenant with them too. Covenant, (?), we took a promise and he did not keep my word. Look, which human being could make a covenant with Allah Almighty and then break his covenant? This is not possible. This is not possible. Then Allah Almighty would be unaware of a single living being that will come until the Last Day. Yes.

If people had felt remorse in the realm of the Hereafter and truly, in their hearts, submitted to Allah, after they served their punishment Allah would forgive them. Accordingly, when Allah Almighty says, if only they had felt remorse there, it means these people, in any case, express their remorse with their tongues in order to escape the punishments; that's what it is. Since in their hearts they await the Lord they imagined to save them, and, out of their enmity toward Allah, our Creator who created us, because He punishes them, they await the day they will take revenge on Him; being in these feelings, they remain in Hell forever.

Supposedly, you know, it says they will not be able to see their Lord, well, this is it: he waits for the Lord of his imagination; that Lord of his imagination, in the desire of waiting for Him, and within the punishment Allah Almighty has given them in return, they increase their grudge against Allah Almighty, and their grudge, waiting for the Lord of their imagination, they will take revenge on Allah. Within these feelings he burns and burns; the more he burns, the more his grudge grows; the more his grudge grows, the more he (?) his Lord. The Lord of his imagination. Whereas to another Lord (?).

These are the feelings of the people of Hell. Yes.

With their partial will in their own hands, since they had themselves programmed according to this program, from this state of theirs they can never escape. They can never return to Allah. Therefore He declares that their words are nothing but empty words. Empty words.

So these people, until the day they will be resurrected again, are returned to the realm where our souls wait and which is the grave of our souls, the realm of barzakh. We explained the realm of barzakh with the previous verses. To touch on it briefly here too: Allah Almighty created our souls in the realm of Lahut. Then at kâlû belâ He said to them: I am your Lord. Then He made a covenant with them. Then, until the time each soul would come to the world, they were raised to the realm called barzakh, the waiting places that are the graves of our souls. Then the coming to the worldly realm of the soul whose time has come, then the Hereafter; in proportion to its covenant, having made itself a witness to itself, to those around and to Allah, until the day it will be resurrected, to its grave in the realm of barzakh, the place where it was first raised, it is returned.

That is, we, a traveler, a traveler, still have a road ahead.

After we complete our lifetime in the world, ahead of us are the tombs where our corpses will wait, and the graves, the place where our soul will wait. There is the realm of barzakh. Then there is a resurrection again. Then there is going to the place of gathering. Then there is the Day of Reckoning. After that we will be at rest. Either to Paradise or to Hell. May Allah make all of us among those who attain guidance, and in the highest Paradise, in the most beautiful places, join us to the servants He has settled there. Yes.
