Say; “Should I tell you what is better than these? For those who abstain, with their Lord, there are paradises beneath which rivers flow and in which they will stay eternally, pure companions and (above all) the contentedness of Allah. Indeed, Allah sees Allah’s servants very well.

Tafsir

Allah (swt) addressed His Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.), to inform him how people can get more reward in the sight of Allah. (Say, "My Messenger, shall I inform you of what is better and better than the wealth of this world? The best in the sight of Allah is Taqwa. In one of His verses, He says: "We have sent you two garments, the first is the garment that covers your modesty and the second is Taqwa". Taqwa is avoiding what is doubtful for the sake of Allah.

Allah says, "Shall I tell people what is better for them than the wealth of this world, gold, silver, children, fattened horses and crops?" This is to work for Allah and earn Paradise. If people have the wealth of the world, but they do not put love in their hearts, but say that it is a favor of Allah, and they earn it by remembering Allah and observing what is lawful and unlawful, and spend it in the way of Allah, they will have done the most acceptable deed in the sight of Allah, and such people will have in the sight of Allah paradise with rivers flowing in it and immaculate wives, and even higher than that is the pleasure of Allah.

(Allah sees His servants very well). All creatures are servants of Allah. Wherever these creatures are in the universe. Whether they are in the earth or in the heavens or between them or under the earth, Allah knows them and sees them and is aware of what they do.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-Imran, verse 15: My Messenger, say: shall I tell you of something better than these?

For those with taqwa, with their Lord, beneath which rivers flow, gardens where they will stay forever, pure spouses, and above all of them is the pleasure of Allah. Allah sees His servants very well, it says.

Now, according to this verse, there comes to my mind a couplet of Yunus Emre. Paradise, what they call paradise, a few youths, a few houris; give it to whoever wants it, I need You, You, he says.

So above these too, it says, above all of them is the pleasure of Allah. If you have earned your Lord's pleasure, then surely within His pleasure you will have everything you could be pleased with. Surely His pleasure is above all of them. Allah surely sees His servants very well. Yes.

Allah Almighty, addressing the Prophet (peace be upon him), makes known how people will earn more reward with Allah. My Messenger, say, it says, say: of what is better and more blessed than that worldly wealth shall I tell you? Than worldly wealth. With Allah the finest thing is taqwa, it says. With Allah. What is taqwa? Minding halal and haram. Avoiding doubtful things. In a verse: We sent you two garments. The first, a garment covering your private parts. The second is taqwa, He says. Taqwa is avoiding doubtful things for Allah's sake. Turn to taqwa, says Allah Almighty. To taqwa, that is, by minding halal and haram; since you cannot take a single atom from the world to the hereafter, for the hereafter prepare while in the life of this world, and for your Lord, by giving charity, by avoiding your Lord's commands and prohibitions, by His commands observing, you, the hereafter's (?), earn it, and in this way your Lord's pleasure, earn it. Allah Almighty to people: than these possessions, their gold, their silver, their children, well-fed horses and crops, shall I tell you of something better?

He says. Than those; what does He say? Shall I tell you of something better than these? He says. What was it? In the previous verse, to people: than these possessions, their gold, silver, children, well-fed horses and crops, shall I tell you of something better? His saying this: even if people own these possessions, if they do not put love of them into their hearts, if they do not put love of them into their hearts, if they say it is Allah's grace to people, and what they earn they earn remembering Allah, minding halal and haram, and in Allah's way spend it, they will have done the deed most accepted with Allah.

And for such people, with Allah, gardens beneath which rivers flow, and pure things, spouses, and above that, the pleasure of Allah, we said. Here now a couplet comes to my mind. Al-faqru fakhri, al-faqru fakhri, did not the pride of the worlds say that? Mention his poverty. Mention his poverty. This heart of mine found it in faqr and fana. does not mean poverty. Even if you own all these worlds, the heavens and the earth and what is between them, knowing they are Allah's, even if you surrender it to Allah from the heart, surrendering your own being to Allah too, and with your spirit if you prostrate before Him, if you surrender your spirit to Him too, then you are in the state of the poor.

Here you go as far as 'la mawjuda illallah'. Yes. It does not tell you: do not earn in the world. If it says those are the passing blessings of the world, benefit from those blessings, but do not put love of them into your heart.

Allah sees His servants very well, it says. All created beings are Allah's servants. Wherever in the universe these creatures are, whether on earth, or in the heavens, or between the two, or under the earth, Allah knows them, sees them and is aware of what they do. In a verse Allah Almighty says: He encompasses and perceives all eyes. He sees and perceives all of them. Yes.
