Translation

This (behavior) is because they say; “The fire may only touch us for a short number of days”. What they had made up previously has misled them about their religion.

Tafsir

This attitude of the Jews, i.e. changing the Verses of Allah (swt) and turning their backs on the commands of Allah (saying that the Fire will touch us only in the numbered days), do they have any proof from Allah? Allah is the Possessor of justice. If that were so, he would have told everyone in advance where he would go in the Hereafter.

(He has misled them about their religion in what they used to invent). With this verse Allah says that they are lying and that their saying that the Fire will not touch us more than a few days is their own fabrication. Previously, they had monks in synagogues make changes in the Book of Allah in exchange for money. The changes they have made in the Book of Allah show that they have misled themselves, and that their fabrications are just like the tales of their ancestors, and that they are consoling themselves.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-Imran, verse 24. This attitude of theirs is a result of their saying: the Fire will touch us only on numbered days. And what they once invented has, about their religion, deceived them.

Osman Kuru also says may Allah be pleased with you, and if there are no more questions in our lesson, we continue. This attitude of theirs is a result of their saying the Fire will touch us only on numbered days, it says.

Who are they? The Jewish people; look at these people's insolence towards Allah Almighty and the whims they hold against Him, against Allah. I will do what I want in the world. You created me anyway; had You not created me. What will You do to me? At the very most You'll expose me to punishment for a few days. In the end I'll do what I want both here and there. Oh my goodness! Look at this mindset.

Well, (?) Allah Almighty says, one Muslim is worth three unbelievers, He says. By this He wants to say: the Muslim mind works much more than the unbeliever's. It works much more than the non-Muslim's. Since it works three times more, with a third of the mind the non-Muslim will think like this within that world of fantasy. That is the capacity he gets. That is the capacity.

If he had a mind like a Muslim's, would he speak like this to Allah Almighty? Then look at this arrogance. Look at the arrogance of this nafs. In the world he'll do it, do it. So what? There I'll suffer punishment for a few days and get out, he says. A few days. Punishment will touch me on numbered days. Is it worth it, he says, to suffer hardship in this world? Is it worth doing what Allah says? Don't eat the forbidden, don't deal in interest. So to speak, don't commit adultery. Why did I come into the world? For pleasure and enjoyment, he says. Am I to live like a vegetable, he says. Look at the words.

These are the words. Yet the poor man doesn't know that he hasn't found peace in this world. People who, to find peace, in drink and gambling act outside the limits Allah does not want. And you will do this. You will (?) Allah, and Allah Almighty will lift His attribute of justice from you; in the hereafter you will enter Paradise just like that, and there too do what you want; Paradise is a supreme place of peace. Are those who know and those who don't, those who work and those who don't, ever equal, says Allah Almighty. If you turn your back on Allah and, out of the whims of your nafs, into Islam you don't enter, if you move away from Islam despite knowing the truth, that first blow you will take there.

We gave many examples in our last lesson.

I don't want to waste time giving those lessons and their examples here again. In the things they once invented, about their religion they deceived themselves, it says. Invented. About their religion. What is their religion? What is religion? Our Lord's command. What they invented, that is, what they wrote with their own hands. About their religion they deceived themselves, it says. Because they invented it themselves. I said no such thing, says Allah Almighty. These are their own inventions, He says. Now, according to this verse, including the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel in their hands, about their religion, it says.

By religions, the books that came from my Lord.

Invented, about their religion, it says; if it says that in the things they once invented they deceived themselves about their religion. Now, according to this verse, I ask. Are the books before them as Allah sent them, in their original? So superstitions have entered all of them. Into all of them people, with their rabbis and priests, for their own interest, put invented words.

Why was Prophet John put in prison?

With their inventions they wrote in the Torah that an uncle marries his sibling's daughter, that is, his sister's daughter; he is her uncle, and he marries her. A king called (?). A king. His sibling, his elder sister, wants to give her daughter to her brother. He calls Prophet John.

Perform our marriage, he says. I won't perform your marriage, he says. Why, he says? I am of the religion of Jesus, he says. But, he says, in the Torah it says so. I don't judge by the Torah, he says.

Upon that he is beheaded. They have him beheaded.

So with what they invented with their hands, saying it is written so in the Torah, they deceived themselves about their religion, it says. That is, they turned their backs on Allah and went with the whims of their nafs. They fell under the verse: have you not seen the one who deifies his nafs?

This attitude of the Jews, that is, their changing Allah Almighty's verses and turning their backs on Allah's commands, is a result of their saying: the Fire will touch us only on numbered days. Yet do they have in their hands any proof that this came from Allah? This is how they say it. Allah Almighty is just. If it were so, He would have told everyone in advance the place they will go to in the hereafter. Indeed. Since you decided by yourself and said no punishment will touch me except on numbered days, do you have such a proof in your hand? If you had a proof from your Lord, Allah Almighty would treat everyone, all the people to come until the Day of Judgment, the same way.

Because Allah Almighty never discriminates among His creatures.

Never discriminates. He judges with justice. By what? By His saying: what you earn is the recompense of your two hands.

And in the things they once invented, they deceived themselves about their religion. With this verse Allah Almighty says they are lying; their saying the Fire won't touch us beyond a few numbered days is their own invention, He declares. Even before, about their religion, in the synagogues they had monks make changes in Allah's book for money. Yes, the changes they had made in Allah's book show that they deceived themselves, that these inventions of theirs are just like the fables of their old ancestors, with which they consoled themselves; this is what they reveal. Just in the last lesson we said: although only a short time had passed since their destruction, although since their destruction only a short time had passed, how they resembled their ancestors, and took their path. We will come to more verses, God willing. Yes.
