They say; “Oh Our Lord! Our transgression overpowered us. We were a nation of people that went astray.”
Tafsir
On the Day of Reckoning, in response to Allah's questions, they will reply to Allah: "Our Lord! Our rebellion overcame us. They will blame themselves, saying, "We were a group of deviators. In addition to these people blaming themselves, it will also become clear that they deserve these punishments. That is to say, "Our rebellion overcame us" is because Allah (swt) has written for them as their destiny what they had asked Allah (swt) for in Kalu Bela. Those who disbelieved in Allah in the past will certainly disbelieve in the life of this world. If you kill and resurrect them not once but many times, they will still disbelieve. Because denial is in their nature. In not recognizing Allah and disobeying Him, they are waiting for their own imaginary Lord. Therefore, their blaming themselves and asking Allah's forgiveness is with their tongues. Otherwise, Allah is not cruel that He should continue tormenting them after their souls have reached maturity.
If a Muslim were to enter Hell, when the light of faith in that Muslim reaches its perfection, he will find the punishment that Allah (swt) has given him too little. With the perfection of this faith, Allah (swt) will take that person out of Hell. But those who disbelieve in Allah and the Hereafter have disbelief in Allah in their nature, they do not recognize Allah as Lord because they do not acknowledge Him in their hearts. Therefore, Allah says, "If only they had believed there in their hearts". This verse shows that on the Day of Reckoning, they will ask Allah for forgiveness, thinking that they still do not believe in Allah and that they will deceive Allah with their tongues.
That is because their evil desires were given to them in their own wills. As for the believers, why did not their transgression overcome them and make them deny Allah and the Hereafter? Because they used their reason at Kalu Bela. They said, "Yes, You are our Lord," believing that there is no other God but Him. In this respect, their wills were also destined for them. One in disbelief and one in faith, they make themselves witnesses against Allah (swt) in proportion to their covenant in the realm of property. On the Day of Reckoning, in the sight of Allah, everyone will be rewarded for what they have earned, and they will go to the places they deserve. Those who were rebellious in their covenant with Allah will say, 'We were a people of error.
What is said in the video
In verse one hundred and six Allah Almighty says, let us give it in translation. They will say, Our Lord, our transgression overcame us. Our transgression. We were, we were a people astray. They will say this. Our transgression overcame us. We were, we were a people astray. Now, do you know why I compare this to that?
a guilty person, look, let me give an example from our own time. Let me give an example from this time. They locked the (?) up. Isn't that so? You, they say, if you show remorse, you will benefit from the, you know, feeling of remorse. You know, if you tell us the secrets, maybe we will pardon you. Isn't that so? They let them out.
This is the same situation. But that one may regret it and not do it again, whereas this one shows even his remorse only supposedly, to escape the punishment. That is, something like: forgive us, we were astray there, but we did not know. In fact he cannot grasp that before him is the One who created him. There is the One who made a covenant with him at the call of Elestü bi Rabbiküm. There is the One who, according to his covenant, wrote his wish for him as destiny. And there is the One who engraved characters according to those destinies. It is not possible for him to turn back again. He does not grasp this; again, according to his covenant, he will deceive Allah (?).
In reply to the questions Allah Almighty asks on the Day of Reckoning, they will give Allah Almighty this answer. Our Lord, our transgression overcame us. We were a people of error, they will say, blaming themselves.
Besides these people blaming themselves, it will also become clear that they are deserving of these punishments. Deserving of punishment. That is, their saying our transgression overcame us is probably because the wish they had asked of Allah Almighty was written for them by Allah Almighty as destiny. Those who denied Allah before will surely deny in the life of this world too. Even if you kill and revive them not once but many times, they will deny again. Because denial lies in their nature. Denial. That is the character.
In not knowing Allah and opposing Him, there is the waiting for the Lord of their imagination. Therefore their blaming themselves and asking Allah for forgiveness is with their tongues. As I said a moment ago. Not from the heart. Allah Almighty knows. Otherwise Allah is not unjust, that after their nafs has been perfected He would keep punishing them. Indeed Allah Almighty says this in His verse. If only they had known Me here, He says. But because they interpret the verses wrongly, they say: if only they had known in the world. Some also say the world, a bit earlier, but they do not know the truth of the matter. When He says, at Elestü bi Rabbiküm, if only they had known before, instead of meaning that place they make it mean the world. This needs to be explained further.
At that call of Elestü bi Rabbiküm, if only you had known Me. Because now your destinies have been given. We brought you into the world not once, but time and again. Even you would do the same deed. Why? Well, now I am explaining this here. And this is recording, isn't it? It is recording. Let's close this here. (?) Even if you listen to this tape fifty thousand times, you will always hear the same words. Can you hear anything else? That is my character too. Then what does this, which verse does this support? Which verse? There is not a single living being to come until the Day of Judgement of which we do not know what it will not do.
Yes.
If a Muslim were to enter hell, when the faith in that Muslim is perfected, they will find the punishment Allah Almighty gave him too little. They will find it too little. Why will he find it little? That non-Muslim will say, you were a Muslim in the world. What are you doing here? Why did they throw you in here? And that Muslim will answer exactly like this. When I was in the world, I was perhaps in worse states than you. This punishment my Lord gave me is, from His mercy, even too little for me. When he says this, since there is faith in him, he already knows his Lord. His faith has been perfected.
Allah Almighty is aware of their conversation. My servant, He says. Your faith has been perfected, come out of there. He takes him and sends him to his place. As for the other, there, we saw the punishment, right, because he is a denier. He is waiting for the Lord of his imagination. According to the verse, they will not see their Lord; there is no god but Allah so that they would see their Lord. Those who don't know this say they will be raised there blind and sightless, they say. Because they are people unaware of the verses. They will not see their Lord. Because the verses confirm one another.
What does it do? La ilahe illallah. There is no god but Allah. In this case, waiting for the Lord of their imagination, with the feeling of taking revenge on Allah, who punishes them and who truly created them, as their hatred of Allah Almighty grows they remain there. They remain in these feelings. Otherwise, just as the Muslim there likewise suffers punishment, finds faith and comes out of there, if his faith too had been perfected, if he too had truly known Allah, Allah is not unjust, that He would leave him there. And even though it is so, after they have suffered punishment there for many thousands of years they will no longer feel or taste it, He says.
Again Allah's mercy will reach them. He will remove their nerve senses. They will remain there as logs of hell. But they will feel no pain. Yes. Again, may Allah have mercy (?). Yes.
However, since disbelief in Allah lies in the nature of those who deny Allah and the hereafter, because they do not affirm Allah Almighty with their hearts, they do not recognise Allah Almighty as Lord. Therefore Allah says, if only they had at least believed there with their hearts, He says. At least. If only they had believed there. That is, if only they had known Me. This verse shows that on that Day of Reckoning they still do not believe in Allah and, thinking they will deceive Allah Almighty with their tongues, ask Allah for forgiveness. With their tongues. Yes.
So their saying our transgression overcame us comes from the evil desires in their wishes being granted to them.
We passed over a statement there. I said, complete that statement, the sentence, and I told you what came to me; after the sentence was completed that statement was over. Let me take that part again from the start. Let me see, if it comes again I'll explain that part to you. However, since disbelief in Allah lies in the nature of those who deny Allah and the hereafter, because they do not affirm Allah Almighty with their hearts, they do not recognise Allah Almighty as Lord. Therefore Allah says, if only they had at least believed there with their hearts. This verse shows that on that Day of Reckoning they still do not believe in Allah and, thinking they will deceive Allah, Allah Almighty, with their tongues, ask Allah for forgiveness.
What was coming has gone, it didn't come. May Allah grant well-being. So their saying our transgression overcame us comes from the evil desires in their wishes being granted to them. That is, whatever a person desired, Allah Almighty, without interfering with the person's wish, without intervening in any way in their will, according to their desires and wishes, wrote their destinies. He engraved their characters. Ve kuntüm ezvâcen selâseh: ezvaç, three classes coming from one another, He says. Fe ashâbü'l-meymeneti mâ ashâbü'l-meymeneh: O people of the right, glad tidings to you. Where is this? At the call of Elestü bi Rabbiküm, when Allah Almighty said, I am your Lord, their division there into three groups.
Ve ashâbü'l-meş'emeti mâ ashâbü'l-meş'emeh. O people of the left, woe to you, He says. Ve's-sâbikûne's-sâbikûn, ülâike'l-mukarrabûn, fî cennâti'n-naîm. A third group, called the sâbikun group. The group of saints, prophets, martyrs, (?). Yes. We were separated there. And Allah Almighty made a covenant with each of us one by one.
What does he know? Verse 172 of Surah Al-A'raf. Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Ve iz ehaze rabbüke min benî Âdeme min zuhûrihim zürriyyetehüm ve eşhedehüm alâ enfüsihim elestü bi Rabbiküm. What does it say? We made a covenant with those who would emerge from the offspring of the sons of Adam. Look, with those who would emerge. And what do they say? He brought forth the offspring from the loins of the sons of Adam and made a covenant with them, (?). Did you see here that you made a covenant with Allah? So what is this? Zürriyyetehüm, zuhûrihim. Look, zuhûrihim: with the offspring that will emerge. That means it had not yet emerged.
Where did He make the covenant? At the call of Elestü bi Rabbiküm. In the realm of Lahut. Where He created our souls, He made the covenant with us. Pardon? There everyone was divided into three classes. Those of the right, those of the left, and (?) one class above. Pardon? These deniers took their place on the left there. They did not recognise Allah who created them. Can a person fail to recognise Allah who created him? Allah is before you. Why did they not recognise Him? They did not recognise Him according to this verse. Their hearts are restless and scattered, it says, doesn't it. Out of their pride and arrogance they betrayed Me too, He says.
The meaning of this verse: because Allah Almighty gave us a part of His spirit, appearing in His Essence's form exactly in human form, and since we too saw Allah Almighty like ourselves, there, out of their pride and arrogance, these people denied Allah, the One who created them. They waited for the Lord of their imagination.
So there Allah Almighty says this verse to people. Do you not use your reason at all? Do you not reflect at all? What does this mean? Where, how shall I use my reason? In that realm of Lahut, when He said, I am your Lord, Allah Almighty stands opposite so many created people, (?) the upper class, He stands there. Created. Suppose I too stepped forward and said, I created you. God forbid.
Perhaps some of you would believe, some would not. But would the One who created you let me present myself to you like that? What does He say? Yes, He destroys you, and says, I am your Lord.
That is exactly how I think about it there. The thought there: so, do you not use your reason? In that case nobody comes forward, nobody else comes forward. You know, if someone else had created so many people, us, would He let him be introduced? He would not. In that case nobody comes forward either. And Allah Almighty gives time too. And the Prophet is beside Him too. Confirming. This is our Lord. That is, He wants to help people. In that case, if a person still does not believe, then his own destiny, his own desire and wish, his own aim, by the decision he made within his own will, his own destiny he has written for himself.
Is there any fault of Allah Almighty here anymore? But you cannot find any fault. Yes.
So their saying our transgression overcame us comes from the evil desires in their wishes being granted to them. And why did the transgression of the believers not overcome them and make them deny Allah and the hereafter? Because they used their reason at Kâlû belâ. Believing that there is no other god but Him, they said, yes, You are our Lord. Therefore their wishes too were written for them as destiny. One in disbelief, one in faith. In the realm of Mulk, in proportion to the covenants they gave, they make themselves witnesses before Allah Almighty. In Allah's sight, on that Day of Reckoning, everyone will see the return for what they earned.
They will go to the places they deserve. Those who gave their covenant rebelliously when making a covenant with Allah Almighty will say, we were a people astray. Yes. What does Allah Almighty say? Today, without injustice being done to anyone, what you have earned, as the return for your own two hands, will be paid to you in full, He says.
