(Allah will ask and say to the deniers) “How many years did you stay on earth?”
Tafsir
Allah (swt) asks the inhabitants of Hell: How long were you on earth? His intention in asking this is that a thousand years of worldly time is like a day of the Hereafter. In this respect, He asks this question to show that the world of the Hereafter, the land of eternal bliss, is exchanged for the life of the world in this delusion, by being deceived into thinking that they will live a very long life in this world. This is because the inhabitants of Hell have realized that they have only a short time left in this world, like a day or a few hours of a day. Allah, Who creates time within time, is showing people that they are not using their minds, that they are the real fools, by showing them that for this very short life of a few hours, they are wasting the abode of eternal bliss.

Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 112. Allah asks the deniers: How many years did you stay on earth?
How many years did you stay on earth?
Allah Almighty asks the people of Hell: How long did you stay on earth? His purpose in asking this (?): a thousand years of worldly time are like one day of the hereafter. So, to show them that, deceived by the notion of living a very long life in the world, they traded the eternal home of bliss of the hereafter, in this delusion, for worldly life, He asks this question. Because the people of Hell have understood that they stayed in the world only a very short time, that they lived a life of one day or a few hours of a day. Allah, who creates time within time, does this to show people that for this very short life of a few hours they spurned the eternal home of bliss, to show them that they did not use their reason, that they themselves are the true fools.
