Did you think that We created you in vain and that you will certainly not be returned to Our side?
Tafsir
Do you think that you were created in vain, and that you will eat and drink and remain in this world with what you have done? Or did you think that the heavens and the earth and all that is between them came into being on their own? Did you not believe that you came into existence on your own and that there is a Creator of you? Is that why you disbelieved in Allah and the Hereafter? Did you think that there were other gods besides Allah and that you could take refuge in another God, or did you think that you were so powerful that you could overcome Allah with your descendants, sons and daughters, or did you think that the resurrection after death is true and that you will not be called to account before Allah on the Day of Reckoning in the Hereafter? Yes, Allah's word is the Truth. No one can be as true to His word as Allah. For Allah is free from any imperfect attribute. The Day of Reckoning will come. Every soul will be rewarded for what it has done. Allah, the Absolute Power, the Judge of Judges and the Sovereign in His sovereignty, will keep His promise and will call people to account. Allah, Who has proved the Day of Reckoning with His Verses, Who has declared His existence to be the Truth, out of compassion for mankind, tells of the calamities that will befall those who disbelieve in Allah.
So, O human being! Think and contemplate. No object comes into existence by itself out of nothing. Surely there is a Creator. So do not wrong your soul by denying Him. Prepare yourself for the Day of Reckoning so that you may be saved.
What is said in the video
We have come to Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 115. Did you think that We created you merely in vain, and that you would truly not be brought back before Us? Don't they say so? "Does Allah exist?" they say. "Who has gone and come back?" Well, having gone, one will not come back anyway. Allah Almighty says it. "Send me back once more." We — not just once, it says — even if We sent you back several more times, you would do the same thing again. So since there is no coming back, "who has gone and come back?" Why do you say it? Because you are unaware of the verse. Because you turned your back on that light, on this Quran, within the circle of ignorance debasing yourself, contrary to the quality of being human, by denying that capability of yours, in this way, "who has gone and come back," you say.
Did you think yourselves aimless and without an owner in the world?
Indeed, man thinks himself free. Stark naked, he lives by his own nafs, as he pleases. These people, (?), have such a yoke on their necks that if they could only notice this yoke — as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "you would laugh little and weep much," it says. What is this yoke? In every second of every breath we take, in every deed we do, every act we carry out as actions, second by second, as if filmed by a camera, is written down — if we only knew it. And finally, at the end of our life, for what we did in every second of our life — before our Lord who created us and sent us into the world to prove what kind of person we are — if we only knew how we will give account in His presence, we would laugh little and weep much.
Were we created in vain? Did Allah Almighty ever say to you in this world: satisfy your carnal urges like animals and be gone? He created you as the noblest of creatures, honoured you above the worlds; and you, what did you do? "They are like the four- legged ones walking the earth; indeed, (?) more astray" — you became subject to this word. Yes. Man is not aimless in the world; on his neck is such a yoke that if he became aware of that yoke, man, from remembering Allah, would not be (?).
Did you think that We created you merely in vain and that you would truly not be brought back before Us? Did you think yourselves aimless and without an owner in the world? That you were created in vain, that eating and drinking you would be left with what you did in the world — did you think that? Or did you think that the heavens and the earth and what lies between these two, out of nowhere, simply came into being by themselves? That you came into existence by yourselves — did you not believe that you have a Creator? Is that why you denied Allah and the hereafter? Believing there are other gods besides Allah, that you would take refuge in another god — did you think that? Or, seeing yourselves as very strong, with lineage and kin, with children, with (?), that you could overcome Allah — did you think that?
That resurrection after death is true, and that on that day of reckoning in the hereafter, in Allah's presence, you would not be called to account — did you think that? Yes, Allah's word is true. No one keeps faith with their word as Allah does. Because Allah is free from imperfect attributes. That day of reckoning will come. Every soul will surely see the recompense of what it did. Allah, the absolute power, the judge of judges, who holds authority in His judgment, will keep His promise and call people to account. Allah, who proves that day of reckoning with His verses and makes known that His existence is true, out of mercy for people, tells of the calamities that will befall those who deny Allah. So, O man, think and reflect.
Nothing comes into being from nothing by itself. It surely has a Creator. So do not wrong your own soul by denying Him. For that day of reckoning prepare yourself, so that you may attain salvation. Yes.
