Explanation

Dear teacher, in Surah Abasa there is a matter concerning our Prophet: when a blind Companion came to our Prophet, he frowned at him, and upon this the verse was revealed, and in this verse our Prophet is reproached. Can a prophet who was sent as a mercy to the worlds make a mistake like this, or did I misunderstand the verse? I would be glad if you could explain. Our religious culture teacher told us this, and I could not believe it.

What is said in the video

Halil İbrahim asks. Hodja, in Surah Abasa there is a matter about the Prophet, but when a companion came to the Prophet, he frowned at him, and thereupon the verse was revealed and the Prophet is reproached in this verse. Can a prophet sent as a mercy to the worlds make a mistake like this? Or did I misunderstand the verse? Would you explain? I would be glad; this was told to us by our religious culture teacher. I did not believe it. May Allah be pleased with you. Yes. Halil İbrahim. All the teachers of religious culture, the religion teachers know it this way. Allah protect us. Allah protect us.

Abu Sa'laba. Blind. This man, sir, goes in among the polytheists and says: what did the Prophet tell you? Thereupon, thereupon the polytheists, seeing that he is blind and poor, turn their faces away. They pin this on the Prophet. Now, if you allow me, if you allow me, I explained that very well in my tafsir, in my tafsir. Sir, I explained Surah Abasa very well. God willing, now from here for you, you touched on a good point, a good point. May Allah be pleased with you. I mean, those are truly people's

we will even call them words that are truly a disgrace to people. Words that are a disgrace to people. Allah Almighty would not address the master of the two worlds with such a word in this way.

Let's see which volume it is in, Abasa, which volume, let's do it from there, Az-Zumar,

Which page is Abasa?

Abasa is on page 584.

It must be in volume 8.

Three thousand, sir, seven hundred eighty-six, what, An-Naba, Al-Mursalat, Adh-Dhariyat, Abasa. Now let's read this all together with you. There truly is benefit in reading this.

What does it say?

He frowned and turned his back. Now, here, it is past eleven o'clock, but let it be. If you have time, listen. These are truly a wound inside us. All such people we call scholars and learned men, those in charge, all know it the way you said. I mean, they know it that way. Now we are opening this up. While the Prophet (peace be upon him) was explaining the religion of Islam to some of the leading men of Quraysh, such as Utba, Shayba and Abu Jahl, telling them that the idols too were created by Allah, that the owner of all these worlds is Allah, that if they obeyed Allah they would enter the gardens of Paradise, warning them with Hell if they opposed Allah, did not recognize Allah and associated partners with Him, while conveying Allah's commands to them, one who had accepted Islam and who was among the first of those who emigrated from Mecca the Honoured, the blind man called Ibn Umm Maktum, Abdullah ibn Shurayh, goes in among the leading men of Quraysh and asks what the Prophet had told them.

But when the notables of Mecca see that the one asking them is a blind and poor man, they give him no value, they frown and turn away from him. That is why Allah Almighty sends this verse. However, intentionally or unintentionally, even the commentators or those who are scholars, erring in the words of these verses Allah Almighty sent, attribute this to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and disparage the Prophet (peace be upon him). And they also say this: Allah Almighty is warning the Prophet (peace be upon him) in a reproachful way, they say. I say that we will prove to all people of reason, of sound reason, that it is not so, that Allah Almighty did not reproach the Prophet (peace be upon him). By what? One.

One. Allah Almighty did not reproach any of His prophets, so how would He reproach the Prophet He sent as a mercy to the worlds? Two. When Jonah (peace be upon him) could not get through to his people, he left his people and went away. Thereupon Allah Almighty did not reproach even Jonah (peace be upon him); He only said: did I send you as a prophet to flee from your people? and cast him into the sea. Jonah (peace be upon him), who travelled about forty days on the back or in the belly of the fish, when he said: La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-zalimin, I have wronged my soul, forgive me, the fish, by Allah Almighty's permission, brings Jonah (peace be upon him) to land, and when Jonah (peace be upon him) returned to his people and invited them to Islam, his people responded to him.

Three. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) married our mother Khadija, when the polytheists of Mecca declared a boycott on the Muslims and did not trade with them, did the Prophet (peace be upon him) not distribute this wealth to the poor? Four. When the heads of the polytheists came to Abu Talib, the uncle of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and said: if Muhammad gives up his cause, we will give him the keys of Mecca, we will fulfil his every wish, didn't the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: even if they put the sun in one hand of mine and the moon in the other, I will still never give up telling people about Allah?

The Prophet (peace be upon him), who went as far as Taif to find one Muslim and in Taif was pelted with a rain of stones by the children of Taif so that his blessed feet bled; Allah Almighty sent the trustworthy Gabriel to him, and the trustworthy Gabriel said: O Messenger of Allah, we are at your command with these angels; if you wish, we will destroy this town; and forgetting his own pain, praying to Allah Almighty, he said: O Lord of the Worlds, these do not know, forgive them; a prophet who, pitying them, interceded for them, isn't he? Wa ma arsalnaka illa rahmatan lil-alamin; a prophet who came as a mercy to the worlds, isn't he?

Isn't he a prophet who said: my Lord educated me, and educated me well? Isn't he a prophet who came to perfect good character?

Isn't he a prophet who is the first of the created, from whose light the worlds and from whose soul people were created? Would a prophet who is the most compassionate and merciful of all the created sent to the earth frown at the blessed Umm Maktum, who was poor and blind, for fear of hurting the feelings of someone who did not need him, that is, of someone who was poor yet rich? Would a prophet who said: my companions are like the stars in the sky, whichever of them you follow, you will find the truth, frown at such a companion of his and turn away from him?

Would a prophet about whom there is the verse: he does not speak from caprice, behave like this? A prophet who knew that the world is an abode of little amusement and enjoyment, who told people that in the Hereafter they will be called to account not by the existence of their wealth and property, but by the rewards and sins earned by those who obey Allah and those who do not; would such a prophet ever frown at his companion who was poor and blind? Fourteen. Saying: if the notables of Mecca become Muslim, the Meccans will become Muslim too, not knowing Allah's decree over people and that people cannot go beyond their destinies, meddling with Allah's decree, would he end up as such a prophet, would he?

Fifteen. In His verse Allah Almighty says: My beloved, even if they are those you love, you cannot make the deaf hear; would he go beyond this verse and turn away from his companion? So these people, saying, intentionally or unintentionally, that verses which came to the polytheists of Mecca as a warning were addressed to the Prophet (peace be upon him), these people who disparage the Prophet (peace be upon him) and show him as faulty and deficient in the eyes of the Muslims, are belittling the Prophet (peace be upon him). Whereas the Prophet is complete and perfect toward the created. Only toward the essence of Allah Almighty is he deficient and faulty.

In this respect Allah Almighty says: I have forgiven your past, present and future sins as well. Allah Almighty's purpose in sending this verse is to make known to people that His Beloved, the Beloved of the Majestic One, the Seal of the Prophets, whom He sent as a mercy to the worlds bearing witness that there is no god but Allah, Muhammad (peace be upon him), although he is faultless toward the worlds, is faulty only toward the essence of Allah Almighty. So would the Prophet (peace be upon him) make such a mistake, make a mistake and ever turn away from his companion? Now, in this case, on the Day of Resurrection, on that Day of Reckoning, against those who object to the Prophet and utter such disparaging words, if the Prophet (peace be upon him) is heartbroken and, innocent, prays to Allah Almighty: O Lord of the Worlds, You are witness that I did no such thing.

I did not slander people because they had wealth and property, for the sake of their wealth and property. Least of all, because a person who knew Your essence had no wealth and property, because he himself was poor and blind, did I turn away from him. I would be ashamed to do this; if he says this, if he complains of these to Allah Almighty, those who wrote these things like this and who, telling people that the Prophet (peace be upon him) committed such a mistake, look, even the Prophet valued people's fame, those with wealth and property, and turned away from the poor, instilling Jewish and Masonic ideas in people, present the Prophet (peace be upon him) to Muslims as an example and try to bind people not to devotion to Allah but to those with wealth and property; in that case, how will such people answer Allah Almighty? That these verses are not addressed to the Prophet (peace be upon him), that these verses were sent to the polytheists as a warning; when the verses whose turn comes arrive, we will explain these to you with their commentaries, I said. Here comes a couplet that burns my heart.

While my heart burns with love for you, O Messenger of Allah, I cannot love those who disparage you, O Messenger of Allah. If their intention is sincere but their tongues are thorny, O Messenger of Allah, do not deprive them of your intercession either, O Messenger of Allah, I said. What did I say? If their intention is sincere but their tongues are thorny, that is, if they disparaged you without knowing, do not deprive them of your intercession either, we said. Yes, these are people who do not know themselves. Today the people Turkey has raised, one hundred percent, say it this way. One hundred percent, I say this without any exception.

Allah protect us. And without shame they stand before me and resist about this verse. And after that they bow their heads to the ground. They bow their heads to the ground. Yes, my child, you touched on a good point; it burns us inside. God willing, people will learn.
