Translation

If Allah’s blessings and mercy were not upon you and if Allah hadn’t been Tawwab (the One who accepts repentance) and Hakeem (Ultimately-Wise) (what would be your state)?

Tafsir

Since Allah (swt) created human beings incomplete intellectually, when a person who has not reformed his soul commits such a crime of adultery, what would have happened if Allah (swt) had not made it easy for people and left no way out. No human being could save himself from punishment and Allah's wrath. Since Allah is abundant in forgiveness and mercy, He protects people's honor and dignity by making divorce between people a right, even though Allah knows about such situations. He gives the guilty party the opportunity to repent and return to Allah. By divorcing people in their hearts of doubt, He relieves their heart's depression and brings them peace.

Allah is the Owner of Wisdom. For this reason, He says in one of His Verses, "If you had been caught immediately for the mistakes you have made, you would not have found a single living creature roaming the earth". Allah, being the Wise, says in one of His Verses, "Do not mock at any people, lest they be a better people than you". According to these verses, those who are innocent but are accused of crimes may be Allah's favorite servants. Allah knows this. Allah is the Wise.

What is said in the video

Surah An-Nur, verse 10. Were it not for Allah's abundant grace and mercy upon you, and were Allah not the One who accepts repentance, the Possessor of judgment and wisdom, what would have become of you? Yes.

Why does Allah Almighty accept repentance so abundantly?

Doğan, tell me. Why does He accept it, Doğan? Hodja, there is no one else besides Him, after all. We turn to Him, we say something, and He will accept. No. Is it because we were created deficient in intellect? Yes. We were created deficient in intellect. Why were we created deficient? So that He would not create a (?) being to His own Self. So that He would not create a being equal to His own Self. Then why did He create him close to His Self?

He was an unknown treasure. He wanted to be known. Close to His Self, as the one He wished to hold as addressee of His Self, and as the noblest of His creatures, as a likeness of His Self, He created man. And for this reason He created man's intellect deficient, so that he would know his helplessness and know Me. Yes.

So, were it not for Allah's abundant grace and mercy upon you, and were Allah not the One who accepts repentance, the Possessor of judgment and wisdom, what would have become of you?

What is His abundant grace? His mercy toward us. This grace. He created the intellect deficient for us. As I just said, since He created him close to His Self, so that, carried away by the feelings of the nafs, carried away by pride and arrogance, with a craving of the ego, he would not hold himself equal to Allah. The reason man was created deficient in intellect: he will know his helplessness, and since Allah Almighty is the One who accepts repentance abundantly, when a person turns to his Lord and says: There is no god besides my Lord who created me, He is my Lord, then the Lord of the worlds, Allah Almighty, says: Now you have matched the purpose for which I created you. Why had He created?

He says: We created so that he would know Me. That is, He says He created him so that he would know our Lord. In this case man also knows his helplessness.

When he turns to his Lord, since his intellect is deficient and he makes many mistakes, and since there is no other door for him to go to, he takes refuge in Allah Almighty, and since he fits the purpose of creation, Allah Almighty forgives him. Since Allah Almighty truly created people deficient, when a person who has not been able to reform his nafs commits such a sin as adultery, if Allah had not left people ease and a door of escape, what would our state be?

Let's say I am a king, and when I say: Don't do that, I said: If you do it, I'll have your head cut off. There is no one to judge besides Allah (?). When He says: Don't do that, if you don't, if you do it, what happens? You become destined for Hell.

But since He did not create man free of error, and created his intellect deficient, He (?) him a door of repentance. Out of His abundant mercy. So if man enters through that door, he attains salvation. If he enters through that door of repentance, he finds salvation. Yes. No human being could have saved himself from punishment and from Allah's wrath. As I said a moment ago. Yes. If you had not done what He said, and our Lord had no abundant mercy, I mean, if you don't do what He said and commit adultery or commit kufr, what does He do? Allah Almighty says: Off to Hell. Not a single person would be saved.

There is a verse about it anyway. If you had been seized at once for the mistakes you make, you would not find on earth a single living being moving about.

Since Allah's pardon and forgiveness are abundant, in such cases, although Allah knows, by also making divorce a right between people, He protects people's reputation and honor. Perhaps you haven't listened to the lesson yet. This is the continuation of that lesson. But the verse is general; it is not necessarily only its continuation. It covers everyone in general too. For example, a man sees his wife committing adultery with someone else.

And Allah Almighty says: You must bring four witnesses. Four witnesses. And now the man says: Until I find four witnesses, they'll finish their business and leave, he says. So this time the man asks the Prophet.

If I keep quiet, I'll be a pimp, he says. If I kill, I'll be a murderer, he says. What shall I do in this situation, he says. After the Prophet waits for a while, the verse comes down. Verses always come down upon events anyway.

The man says four times about his wife: This woman is among the adulterers, this woman is among the adulterers, this woman is among the adulterers, this woman is among the adulterers. If I am a liar, may Allah's wrath be upon me, may His curse be upon me, he says. And the woman says: This husband is among the liars, this husband is among the liars, this husband is among the liars, this husband is among the liars. If I am lying, may Allah's curse be upon me, she says. They become divorced. This is Allah's abundant mercy upon us, a way out.

Yes. In this verse, too: Were it not for Allah's abundant grace and mercy upon you, and were Allah not the One who accepts repentance, the Possessor of judgment and wisdom, what would have become of you?

Yes.

In this way, to the guilty one, within the time to repent and to return to Allah, He grants opportunities. By removing through divorce the distress in the hearts of people caught in suspicion, He brings them to peace. Of course: the man no longer wants her, he has seen it, he will kill, or else he will damage his own honor; in this distress, what does he do? When they divorce, Allah Almighty, when they divorce: mercy, they find peace.

Allah Almighty is the Possessor of wisdom. That is why in one verse He says: If for the mistakes you have made you had immediately been seized, you would not find a single living being moving on earth. Because Allah is the Possessor of wisdom, in another verse He says: Do not mock any people. Perhaps that people is better than you. According to these verses, those who are innocent yet accused may be Allah's most beloved servants. Allah knows this; Allah is the Possessor of wisdom, it said. He is saying it. Are there no slanderers? There are. When I was in prison in Mecca, a young lad came in.

I asked: Why are you here?

The boy, sighing, says exactly this. The emir set his eyes on my wife. To be with her, he made up a lie about me. He had me thrown in, saying I winked at some woman.

Yes.

What things happen in this world.

May Allah protect us. Every person came to this world for a test. In this test, although we are all each other's brothers in Islam, regarding those who behave like this, (?), in a hadith it says: For a Muslim, another Muslim's life, property, and blood are forbidden. His honor. His honor, life, property, and blood, he said; these, his honor, are forbidden. So, of those who commit adultery like this, who, knowing that by our Lord's verse the married who commit adultery face stoning, still risk it, these lustful people: now imagine their state yourselves. People who follow not Allah's command but their lust, who have become Satan's plaything, people who defy Allah.

May Allah protect us. May Allah guard us. Yes.
