When you heard it, weren’t you supposed to say, “It does not befit us to talk about this and spread it. No! This is a great slander”?
Tafsir
When we heard this slander against our mother, we should have said, hasha, our mother would never do such a thing, this is a blatant slander. Shouldn't we have asked whoever came up with this to bring their witnesses?
Is this not a stain on people and Islam and a hostile and hostile word? So should you not have said that a stain on innocent people is a great sin in the sight of Allah and it is not befitting for us to commit such sins?
Since such events will occur in every age and time, how well Allah (swt) warns people with His Verses. How well He protects innocent people. He declares that the wrongdoers who slander are sinners in the sight of Allah and that the punishment He will inflict on them in the Hereafter will be very severe.
So, O human being! If you believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that the resurrection after death is true, and that one day, on the Day of Reckoning, you will be called to account before Allah, then do not gossip, do not backbite, do not slander innocent people. Protect the chaste and pure people and guard against slander against them, so that you may attain Allah's mercy.
What is said in the video
When you heard it, should you not have said: It does not befit us to talk about and spread this, far be it, this is a very great slander, it says. Yes. When we heard this slander against our mother: far be it, our mother would not do such a thing, this is an obvious slander, whoever brought it up, let them bring their witnesses, should we not have said so? Of course, we were to bring four witnesses. Is this not a stain smeared on these people and on Islam, and hostile, adversarial talk? So should you not have said that a stain smeared on innocent people is among the great sins in the sight of Allah and that committing these sins does not befit us, He declares.
Since such events will arise in every era and time, people are warned so beautifully by Allah Almighty with His verses. It comes to my mind: I won't say the person's name, their saying about a lady, our mother, a minister, that she got there by lying down before others: slander. Unbecoming, ugly talk. Those words befit neither that person, nor do they befit that office, nor do they befit such a mother of ours, a lady minister, those words. Yes. In every era there are such hypocritical people. They exist in every era. Yes.
Since such events will arise in every era and time, Allah Almighty warns people so beautifully with His verses. How beautifully He protects innocent people. And He makes known that the wrongdoers who slander are sinners in the sight of Allah, and that in the Hereafter the punishments He will give these people are very severe. So, O man, if you believe in Allah and His Messenger, that resurrection after death is true, and that one day, on that Day of Reckoning, you will give account in the presence of Allah, then do not gossip and backbite. Do not smear innocent people. Protect chaste and pure people, take them under your wing against slanders made about them, so that you may attain Allah's mercy.
Yes.
