Translation

If Allah’s blessings and mercy were not upon you and (what would be your state) if Allah wasn’t Raouf (Most Gracious) and Raheem (the One Who very generously accepts repentance)?

Tafsir

Since Allah (swt) has made human beings His addressees, He has given them His spirit. In this respect, He loves people very much. Allah does not immediately hold people to account for their mistakes. Because Allah loves people so much, He opens the doors of repentance for them and waits for them to repent. What would have become of us if Allah (swt) did not have mercy and compassion on us. If Allah, being sovereign, were to call people to account immediately for their mistakes, there would not be a single living creature on the earth.

Allah is very compassionate and merciful to human beings. Allah, Who brought every soul into the world, gives them a certain life span. During this lifetime, He provides them with various kinds of sustenance so that they may keep people as witnesses to themselves. As for people who knowingly disbelieve in Allah, if it were not for Allah's mercy on them, He would have made them to suffer all sorts of hardships and afflictions and would have made them live in torment and suffering until the end of their lives. This is what Allah (swt) means when He says, "My mercy has exceeded my wrath," meaning that whoever they are in this world, whether they are idolaters, polytheists, polytheists, disbelievers, infidels, or whatever ideology they have other than Allah, other than the religion of Islam, Allah (swt) provides for them in this world. This is Allah's mercy on mankind. But in the Hereafter His mercy is only for the believer. Are those who know and those who do not know, those who obey Allah and those who do not obey Allah, equal?

So, O human being! Enter through this door of Allah's mercy and compassion. See the truth. Benefit from the treasure of a lifetime He has given to man. Turn to your Lord, serve Allah with your worship, be grateful for His blessings, benefit from His mercy and compassion, and earn your Hereafter, and you will be saved.

Grudges, hatred, cruelty, injustice, and turning away from Allah bring disaster to human beings. Both in this world and in the Hereafter, people will be disappointed and suffer. Use your mind, do not be deceived by the colorful cinemascope of the transient worldly life. This world is like the darkness of the evening when the sun sets during the day. Do not lose the sun of the day with the Qur'an in front of you. Then you will not see where you are stepping and you will suffer disasters.

What is said in the video

To verse 20 of Surah An-Nur we have come. What if Allah's grace and mercy were not upon you?

If Allah were not most compassionate and merciful, how would your state be?

My mercy has surpassed My wrath, says Allah Almighty.

If, in the gossip, backbiting, adultery, drinking, gambling we commit in this world, injustice, usurping this or that person's right, swindling and such actions, our Lord's mercy were not upon us and He had not given us a right to live until the end of our lives, in the verse it says this: for the mistakes you made, if immediately you were seized, you would not find a single living being walking on earth, it says. Yes. Here too He shows us how abundant His mercy and His compassion are.

Since Allah Almighty holds people as addressees of His Self, of His spirit He has given them. So He loves people very much; Allah does not, for the mistakes they make, immediately call people to account. Because Allah loves people so much, He opens the doors of repentance to them and waits for people to repent. Had Allah Almighty's mercy and compassion not been upon us, what would our state be? Since Allah is the Owner of judgment, if, for the mistakes people make, He had called them to account immediately, not a single living being would be found walking the earth. Yes.

Allah Almighty is most compassionate and merciful to people. Allah, who brings every soul into the world, grants them a set lifespan. Within this lifespan, so that people take themselves as witnesses, He gives them all kinds of provision. And people who deny Allah knowingly — if Allah's mercy were not upon these people too, He would make them drag themselves along miserably, afflict them with all kinds of troubles, and make them live in torment and suffering until the end of their lives. Allah Almighty saying My mercy has surpassed My wrath means: the world, other than Allah — yes, in the life of this world, whoever it may be, whether idolater, whether polytheist, or disbeliever, or whatever ideology outside the religion of Islam, other than Allah, they may hold, Allah gives him his provision in the world.

This is Allah's mercy upon people.

Besides, for people to prove what kind of people they themselves are, our Lord has given an opportunity. Although He knows in the world of the hereafter, although in that realm of Lahut He made the covenant with them, Allah Almighty, since He is free from deficient attributes, brings man to earth, to earth — on earth, in a visible realm, through the deeds people do, by giving them reward and sin, He holds people as witnesses against themselves, before themselves, those around them and Allah Almighty, and tomorrow on Judgment Day, at the Supreme Court, in the presence of Allah Almighty they have no loophole left.

Yes.

Allah Almighty saying My mercy has surpassed My wrath means: in the life of this world, whoever it may be, whether idolater, polytheist or disbeliever, or whatever ideology, other than Allah, outside the religion of Islam they may hold, in the world Allah gives him his provision. This is Allah's mercy upon people. But in the hereafter His mercy is only for the believer. Can those who know and those who do not know, those who obey Allah and those who do not, ever be equal? Now let us open up this verse a little too. You know it, but it will be understood better. What do we say? In the hereafter only for the believer.

What about the Muslim? Is there none for the Muslim? Now, there is a distinction here. The believer is a person who has worked his nafs and come to know the divine manifestations. His nafs has risen to being at peace. O soul at peace, your Lord pleased with you and you pleased with your Lord, enter among My servants, enter My Paradise — the person to whom He says this. This person, since there is no return again — first these, the righteous servants, will have their accounts settled, they will be welcomed with smiling faces and (?) into Paradise. These are the believers. His mercy is for the believer.

The Muslim will again be properly called to account. If His mercy had been for all Muslims, if He had said His mercy is also for the Muslim, not a single Muslim would enter hell. Know this distinction well. The believer is one thing, the Muslim another. Otherwise, when He says only for the believer, the (?) person among Muslims also thinks himself one of them. If he says, (?) Allah's mercy is upon me, I will go to Paradise, he misunderstands the matter. Yes. One must distinguish these points. Then, O man, enter through the door of this mercy and compassion of Allah. See the truth. Benefit from the treasure of the lifespan granted to man.

Turn to your Lord. Be a servant in obedience and worship to Allah. Be thankful for the blessings He gives. Benefit from Allah's mercy and compassion. And win your hereafter so that you reach salvation. Grudge, hatred, oppression, injustice, moving away from Allah bring disaster to man. Both in this world and in the hereafter man ends in loss. (?) Use your reason. Do not let the colourful cinemascope life of the transient worldly life deceive you. This world is like the darkness of evening when the daytime sun sets. With the Quran in front of you, do not lose the sun of the day. Then you won't see where you step, and you will fall into disasters.

Can you grasp the meanings? I am not opening these points up. Yes.

Yes.
