Translation

They say; “A miracle should have been sent down to him (Muhammad).” Say; “The unknown (ghayb) only belongs to Allah. You keep waiting; I am also waiting with you.”

Tafsir

Those who have the seed of discord in their hearts, the hypocrites and polytheists, expect a miracle from the Prophet. If you are the Prophet, show us a miracle from your Lord. However, Allah knows when and where miracles will occur and only Allah knows the unseen.

In this respect, when the Prophet (PBUH) told them to wait, I am one of those who wait with you, he meant that I am a human being like you, I cannot know the unseen. But Allah (swt) will surely bring forth His miracles. Where and when, that is up to Allah. Therefore, He says, "Wait ye, and I will be one of those who wait with you.

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "I am one of those who wait with you. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "I am one of those who are waiting with you" because he knew that Allah (swt) would surely support him with miracles. Allah (swt) has revealed a verse about the Prophet (pbuh), (He does not speak in vain.) He knows that Allah (swt) will give him miracles, so he says, "I am one of those who are waiting with you," indicating that he is a human being, that he does not know the unseen, and that only Allah (swt) will support him with miracles.

The Prophet (PBUH) had many miracles. One of the greatest miracles is that he ascended to the miraj and met Allah (swt) and brought prayer as a gift to his ummah. The miracles of the Shaqi Qamar (splitting the moon in two). During the Tabuk expedition, he quenched the thirst of the army by pouring water from his five fingers like a spring. Turning a salty well water into sweet water in Usfan, which is about eighty kilometers away from Mecca, wolves and birds, trees and vegetation, talking to him, and showing uncountable miracles in his lifetime are the miracles of the Prophet (PBUH).The Prophet (PBUH) is the last Prophet sent by Allah, that is, the last Prophet, that no Prophet will come after him, and that he is a Prophet who will bring the Holy Qur'an to the people who will come until the Day of Judgment, bringing the Prophethood to an end and guiding people with a complete religion. If people still continue to deny Allah and His Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), despite the fact that he has confirmed his Prophethood with so many miracles, shed light on humanity, and set an example for people with his beautiful morals, then these people are like the shepherd's animals. They hear the shepherd's shouting and calling but do not understand), these are the people who are the recipients of the Verse (like the four-legged beasts that walk the earth), who are the ones who have bought the Hellfire with the sins they have earned.

What is said in the video

Verse 20 of Surah Yunus is what we are reading.

Allah Almighty says in the verse: "If only a miracle were sent down to him," it says, that is, to Muhammad (peace be upon him), "from his Lord," they say.

A miracle. Not just one miracle. Although (?) miracles appear, those whose eyes are blind cannot see. They say it is sorcery. Yes. Well. The unseen only Allah. The unseen belongs only to Allah. So wait; I too am among those who wait with you. it says.

In this case, to the Prophet (peace be upon him), Allah Almighty: "Wait." Who? While he conveyed his Lord's command, our Lord's command, to people, people mocked or fell into doubts, wanted to see miracles, waited for the miracles of their own imagination.

We continue the verse with our commentary. Those with the seed of hypocrisy in their hearts, the polytheists, as hypocrites, are expecting a miracle from the Prophet.

They said, "If you are a prophet, show us a miracle from my Lord." Yet Allah knows where and when miracles will be brought about, and the unseen, too, only Allah knows. Because the keys of the unseen are in the hand of Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty created all people fallible. The Prophet, however, came as a mercy to the worlds. To the worlds. Above the worlds he is perfect. Above the worlds, his character is completely distinguished, vigilant and flawless, above the worlds. Above the worlds. Only before Allah Almighty is there a shortcoming, a fault. In this case we understand here that what people ask of him, even if he is a prophet, is not in the Prophet's hands.

So all miracles are sent by Allah. When the prophets wish, when they wish, Allah Almighty fulfills most of the prophets' wishes. Those that are within their destinies. For example, in the Prophet's time too, "Come on," they say, "let Him destroy us," they say. Destruction. The polytheists. But in the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him), who came as a mercy to the worlds, (?) no one was destroyed. The reason is that he came as a mercy to the worlds, to the worlds.

Since he is alive and living, since he came as mercy, where he is there is no destruction. So what happens, Hodja? Calamities happen. Calamities. And these calamities will continue among people until the Day of Judgment. In place of destruction. So even the Prophet (peace be upon him), who came as a mercy to the worlds, did not send that destruction people asked for. He did not want it, for example. What does it say? The keys of the unseen are in Allah's hand. Because people's minds are short and fallible, they may ask for many calamities against themselves. Just as the polytheists turned their backs on Allah and asked for destruction.

Yet if you told him, "Hold your hand in the fire for half a minute, and you get this much as a tip," he could not hold his hand in the fire. But more than the pain and suffering the world can give a person, that torment he will suffer forever in the hereafter, he brings about as his own destruction. This shows his lack of reason, that he is a sleepwalker. In this case, since the Prophet came as a mercy to the worlds, and since indirectly all people came into being from his spirit, and since he is in the position of the elder of those people, just as a father, however bad his child may be, does not curse him — a normal father, of course; others may curse, but just as a normal father does not curse his child, however naughty it is, and expects that one day it will do something good, so too the Prophet, since he came as a mercy to the worlds, is a prophet who never cursed people.

In this case, people attribute to the Prophet as hadith that he cursed this one, did whatever to that one; with words like these, things the Prophet did not say, they fabricate as hadith, and they do not refrain from slandering him. Of course, deeds depend on intention. People learned it that way, so they speak that way. People who still continue this way after knowing the truth incur sin. They are held guilty. Yes.

So the keys of the unseen are in the hand of Allah Almighty; when and where a miracle will appear, Allah knows best. It is in our Lord's decree. For example, among all the peoples He destroyed, was there no one at all turning to the truth, that He destroyed them all together? He destroyed them. In one narration they say, as an illustration, that Moses thought this too: "Among the peoples You destroyed, was there no one who worshipped You, that You destroyed them?" he says. Meanwhile ants swarm over his foot, it says; one of the ants bites his foot; (?) as he wipes his hand over it, hundreds of ants he destroys.

"O Moses, one ant bit your foot," it says, "why the others," it says, "did you destroy?" Then he repents, they say. The truth of it is this.

The people who will be destroyed have a covenant they gave to Allah Almighty. In the other world, at that address "Alastu bi Rabbikum," when Allah Almighty said "I am your Lord," those who turned their backs on Allah Almighty, those waiting for the Lord of their own imagination, gave Allah Almighty a bad covenant. That is: You are not our Lord. In this case, these people all coming together, being together and falling into shirk against Allah Almighty, going outside Allah's commands and overstepping His limits; and although Allah Almighty sent them prophets to warn them, they shunned the prophets, killed some and insulted others.

In this case Allah Almighty took those who believed in their Lord, together with their prophets, out of there and destroyed the others. Anyway, it says, they are unbelieving disbelievers. Since they were destroyed. There was no good one among them. There was no good one among them. Because when Allah Almighty made a covenant with people at the address "Alastu bi Rabbikum," He wrote their desires and wishes, their aims, as destiny for them. Just as you cannot know what, within these destinies, we need and what, within our destiny, you will need in the future, Allah Almighty knows what every living being to come until the Day of Judgment will do.

In this case, if He says they were all disbelievers who had turned their backs on Allah, then it is so. Because Allah is not unjust to His servants. He says so in the verse as well. We do not wrong the souls. You wrong your own souls, He says. In this case, you know, one word opens up another. When interpreting the translation in the Quran, they say "Allah took revenge." Allah taking revenge would bring about (?) His helplessness. One. It would mean He bears a grudge against people out of selfish feelings. Two. It would mean He punishes people out of that greed, out of His grudge. Three, the Creator. Exercising over people whatever judgment He wishes, He would punish them far more terribly, if He had taken revenge.

Revenge means getting angry at someone and utterly ruining him in a (?) way. Yet Allah Almighty says He wrongs no soul. What you earn is the return for your own two hands, He says. So if Allah Almighty's mercy in the universe is for everyone, if He treats everyone equally, if people are mindful of Allah Almighty's laws or go against His laws, the disobedient will be separated from the obedient. In this case the disobedient, those who turn to fornication, alcohol, gambling, interest, those who leave the religion of Islam — since they, against the laws Allah Almighty sent us, have rebelled, they deserve punishment.

Punishment: under the laws of a state, the people within that state, when they act against the laws, commit a crime; they are sentenced by judges and sent to prison. The people those judges sent to prison — the judge did not take revenge on them, nor did the judge give them that crime. Those people, in return for the crimes they committed, under the laws people had made, were sentenced. That is, he gave himself his own punishment. In this case that person, too, when he appears before Allah Almighty, for the actual deeds he committed, with the sins he incurred, is sentenced to the punishment that is the return of his own two hands.

Otherwise, Allah takes revenge on no one. That soul sentences itself to punishment. In this case, whoever, Allah, whoever says Allah took revenge accuses Allah. There is no such thing. Allah does not take revenge. Today, it says, without anyone being wronged, what everyone earned is the return of his own two hands, it says. Now here, where is revenge? Yes.

That's why if they try to interpret the Quran with Arabic grammar, they make mistakes in many places like this. They don't (?) Allah.

So the keys of the unseen are in the hand of Allah Almighty. Just as the Prophet (peace be upon him), whom our Lord sent as a mercy to the worlds, never cursed people anyway, when and where His miracle, His signs He will show, Allah knows best. In one place, a verse takes the place of a miracle. In this respect, the Prophet (peace be upon him) telling them "Wait, I too am waiting with you" means: I too am a human like you; I cannot know the unseen. But Allah Almighty will certainly make His miracles appear. Where? When? Where these miracles will appear is in Allah Almighty's knowledge.

Therefore say: "Wait, I too am among those waiting with you."

So He commands. The Prophet is conveying the truth to people there. I too am a human like you, a mortal. That is, created by my Lord; you know how a child has a father, the child must follow the father; if it rebels, however much the father advises that child, the father cannot change the child's own character. Since the Prophet too is like the elder, the father of people, however much he warned them, he was deeply grieved by those who, in response to his warnings, turned their backs on the Prophet (peace be upon him). Then Allah Almighty would comfort the Prophet (peace be upon him). My beloved, do not mind their calling you a liar.

In their time they betrayed Me too, He says. Where? At the address "Alastu bi Rabbikum," because, against Allah Almighty, they waited for the Lord of their own imagination and denied Allah, because they denied the Lord who created them, they gave their covenant that way. That's why they are lying disbelievers, He says. That is: although I created them, because they deny that I created them, they are lying disbelievers, He says. As we always explain, we used to say that among these disbelievers there is not one who speaks the truth. So they were liars at the root. The Prophet (peace be upon him) saying "I too am among those waiting with you" — the Noble Messenger and Honored Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), since he knew that Allah Almighty would certainly support him with miracles, said "I too am among those waiting with you." That is a second meaning.

In the first meaning: you wait, and I am waiting too. For what? For who is right and who is wrong. When will it become clear? At the moment of death, we said, and in the hereafter. Second, you wait, and I am waiting too. That is, my Lord will certainly show a miracle. A miracle. This is a second meaning. Yes. The word of Allah Almighty is both outward and inward.

Because He does not speak in vain. The verse was revealed about the Prophet. For example, someone could say to him: "Well, we were waiting, and you were waiting too. What happened to this miracle?" Would he say that? He would. He would. In the second meaning, that's how: He does not speak in vain. Since he knew that Allah Almighty would certainly give him miracles, by saying "I too am among those waiting with you," he makes known that he too is a human, that he could not (?), and that only Allah Almighty would support him with miracles. So did He not support him? Trees speaking with him, his splitting the moon, his speaking with some of the dead, reviving them, that is, many miracles, his ascending in the Mi'raj, seeing our Lord with his own eyes, his appearing with miracles.

Here, of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) miracles, you have (?) some. One of the greatest miracles is his ascending in the Mi'raj and meeting Allah Almighty, and bringing the prayer to his community as a gift. The splitting of the moon, that is, the miracle of the moon being split in two. On the Tabuk campaign, making water flow like a spring from his five fingers for the army and quenching the army's thirst. Near Mecca the Honored there is a place called Usfan. It is 80 kilometers from Mecca the Honored. Passing there with his army, they become thirsty.

(?) (?) That place was Usfan.

They run out of water. There is a well there. They come to the well. They take the water. Salty water. They inform the Prophet. Miracles, you see, with the Prophet (peace be upon him). To create a means, he spits into it. They drink the water. The water turns sweet. It turns sweet, but how did this salty water become sweet, I'm curious. I drink the water. Sweet water. But my lips are salty.

So He makes a miracle appear there. You see it. For example, in Medina the Radiant, on Mount Uhud, the cave from when the Prophet's tooth was broken — we went to that cave. To the cave. The cave smells of roses. Look right, look left. We're looking for the rose. There isn't one. We found the spot where the rose scent came from. He had leaned his blessed face against the wall. Against the wall. From that wall, that thing — when I say wall, I mean the rock of the cave. The rose scent comes from there. It gives off the scent of roses from there. You know, everywhere a miracle.

I wrote this part myself. At Usfan, about 80 kilometers from Mecca the Honored, turning the water of a salty well into sweet water, wolves and birds, trees and plants speaking with him, showing countless miracles in his life, and that the Prophet (peace be upon him) is the one sent by Allah, the Khatam an-Nabiyyin, that is, the last prophet, that after him no prophet will ever come again, that by bringing the Quran to people until the Day of Judgment he ends prophethood and guides people with a perfect religion — that he is such a prophet. Yes. People — we always remind you of this — either knowingly, knowingly, deliberately, or unknowingly, have both Allah Almighty's existence overshadowed and removed; supposedly Allah exists, but always in shadow.

There's nothing out in the open. And as for the Prophet (peace be upon him), he has no name at all. Everything is tied to Gabriel. Gabriel does it. Gabriel. Gabriel teaches the Prophet. That's what they believe.

And by tying every matter to Gabriel, deliberately they cast a shadow on the Prophet's prophethood.

The Prophet (peace be upon him), who came as a mercy to the worlds, personally grew up, was raised and taught under the training of Allah Almighty; he is such a being. The Prophet who said "My Lord trained me, and trained me well" — Gabriel, whom He created from light, how could he teach him? How could he teach him? The noble angels, who did not even know of his existence, who did not even know of his existence — the angels saying "Will You create on earth a being that will shed blood?", the angels; and despite His saying "You do not know what I know," His creating Adam and making all the angels and Iblis prostrate to him — in the face of this, would it befit Allah Almighty's justice?

Should His light teach the spirit, the spirit He gave? That is, should light teach spirit? Because the others were created from light. The other, however, is spirit. A spirit given to no other being in the universe is in the human. A human created as Ashraf al-Makhluqat. That is, the most honored of creatures, of created beings, it says. The most honored of created beings. How could an angel teach? Why would it teach? So, to erase the Prophet's glory: make it up, make it up and say it, make it up, make it up and say it. In this case, who does this? The first that comes to mind, the first that comes to mind — I don't suppose a Muslim would do this — are infiltrators, that is, those who, to erase the Prophet's glory, want to insert here what non-Muslims worked on for years, for centuries, on words in their own books, their (?).

Second, people remaining in ignorance, in a state of ignorance, swallowing these and speaking that way.

Two days ago I came across a very fine Muslim. Turban, robe, beard. You see a Muslim, (?) very nice, I like it. When we talked, regarding Atatürk removing the full veil, (?) he says, "If only we had become captives of the French, captives of the English, and not left our full veils." There is spirituality, fine, but look at his thinking. Although Allah Almighty sent His verses on the condition that no Muslim be made captive to any disbeliever, although He commanded, it says, that they not retreat before any disbeliever, look, he says, "if only you had surrendered to him and not left my full veil." What do you say to this man?

What will you say to people raised in this mentality?

You can't find words to say. While so many miracles appear before their eyes — today the situation in Iraq, the situation in Palestine, where they are still fighting as mujahids.

If you fall captive, will your honor remain, your dignity, your chastity, your might remain? Yes. What will you say, what will you explain to people of this (?) mentality? So these people, unable to keep up with the times, left behind — their brains have been washed with certain events; they're stuck with the robe and turban for show. So they tie everything to that robe and turban. Of those who look at people's brains and (?), there are none. In our time too there are such people, people who would have heads cut off, in our time. It truly breaks your heart, your heart. Today the world is advancing with giant strides.

It is preparing all its weapons to destroy you. You still think of falling captive and staying inside the full veil. Would your full veil remain? Would your chastity remain? Would your honor and dignity remain? What full veil are you talking about? If it protects your honor and dignity — and Allah Almighty says in the verse too: "Work hard, work hard," He says. "Build up your world." So that, He says, your enemy fears you and you have peace, or they envy you and become Muslims, He says.

Yes.

For these people of ours to keep up with civilization, to keep up with technology, to keep up with the times — for those seen here, for many people of the past, the elderly, it is not possible. That is, for them to adapt to this time.

When you tell them the truth, they say exactly this: When bound by falsehood: "My friend, in turning to what you say, I feel as if from my own I've turned away," he says. What will you say to them?

Yes. That's why we are in a state to sit down and weep. People need to read, our people need to develop their minds. Our people don't know how to use their minds and reflect. They lack the ability to compare the past with (?). In this case, within the circle of ignorance, certain dark aims help to raise people of this kind and give support there.

Especially since the world looks attractive to people, as long as they benefit from there, these people give their lives. They don't leave those places. The reason: saying "Within the religious sphere I am bound to some place," making use of their conscience, (?) exploiters use them as tools, and by letting them taste a bit of the world, since they cannot give up this world, even if they see the truth, any chance to step back and return, they don't have. So they are dragged toward destruction.

And then when Allah Almighty gives them calamity, "Did we deserve this?" they say. And since Allah Almighty holds no one responsible for something He did not make known, "to the (?) of a city," it says, "to the man right in its center — without sending a messenger We do not destroy that place," He says. Without sending a messenger. And Allah Almighty — although you heard the truth, if you get caught up in the world's attraction and, by Satan's temptation and the nafs's desire, try to buy the world, stoop to a few pennies, and in return for hearing the truth you bind yourself to falsehood and support those impertinent people, Allah may consider calamity too little for you.

We continue our lesson.

Although he confirmed his prophethood with so many miracles, shed light on humanity, and was an example to people with his fine character, if people still go on denying Allah and His Messenger, Muhammad (peace be upon him), then these people, yes, they are like a shepherd's animals, we say. Like a shepherd's animals. In the verse Allah Almighty says: the shepherd shouts at his animal. That animal hears the shepherd shouting, but, it says, does not understand what he says. What a beautiful example Allah Almighty gives. Yes. Tell the truth as much as you like. Hatemallahu alâ kulûbihim ve alâ sem'ihim ve alâ ebsârihim ğışâveh ve lehüm azâbün azîm.

People who are subject to this verse have a veil over their eyes against seeing the truth, in their ears deafness to hearing the truth, and their hearts are sealed; however much you tell such people, it is like the shepherd shouting at his animal. Those animals hear the shepherd's words but do not know what he says. Yes.

These are like four-legged beasts roaming the earth. They are the people this verse corresponds to, who with the sins they earned buy the fire of hell. Yes.
