They will want to get out of the fire, but they will not be getting out. There is an eternal punishment for them.
Tafsir
Those who rebel against Allah, those who disobey Allah and His Messenger, those who deify their nafs, those who follow the footsteps of Shaytan in pride and arrogance. When they are driven into the Fire on the Day of Judgment, they want to get out of the Fire, but they will not get out of the Fire. They will be there in eternal torment.
Now a question may come to our minds. Is it fair that people who live for sixty or seventy years in this world, or more than that, should spend eternity in the Fire or be tormented for the crimes they have committed?
Another question may also come to our minds: If a thousand years of this world is like a day of the Hereafter, since the lifespan of people in the world corresponds to one or two hours of life compared to the Hereafter, is it justified to be subjected to the eternal torment of an immortal realm in return for a crime of one or two hours?
In answer to these questions, Allah (swt) says in a verse that "this world is the shadow and likeness of the Hereafter". According to this verse, if we evaluate the crimes committed according to the laws of the worldly realm, other than life imprisonment or the death sentence, people are punished for the crimes they have committed, if they have life, and they are released from prison and regain their freedom. These criminals are those who are Muslims, who did not fulfill the commands of Allah, who lived for their own selfish desires, but did not compromise on Allah and His Messenger, that is, they did not leave Islam, their faith did not reach its perfection and they passed on to the Hereafter with their sins. Even if they enter Hell, after being tormented in Hell to the extent of their sins, they will finally leave Hell and enter the Gardens of Allah's promise.
In the case of life imprisonment, a person who commits a crime cannot get out of prison for the rest of his life on earth, his freedom is taken away. He stays in prison until he dies. Execution is the same. He is killed for his crime. In other words, he is eliminated. Since there is no death in the Hereafter, they will be subjected to eternal torment, like a permanent life imprisonment. The reason for this is that the more such people see the torment, the more their hatred towards Allah (swt) increases, and the more their hatred increases, the more they remain in eternal torment. They cannot be reformed. And their souls are not perfected.
In the previous lessons we talked about covenants, and just as man has made his covenant with Allah, Allah (swt) has written a destiny for man. No creature can change its destiny. In this respect, they can never love Allah because they are destined to rebel against Allah. In this respect, since Allah is the owner of justice, He will not take a person whose soul is not satisfied and let him enter Paradise. The liberation of a person whose soul is not perfected with the light of faith means that he will corrupt people in Paradise. At the same time, Allah is not cruel so that He can oppress them and take pleasure from them in return for this oppression. If this were the case, He would neither send a Prophet nor a Book. If He sends a Prophet and a Book to give life to people, to show them the right and the wrong paths, to teach them what they do not know, to promise them paradise, and yet they still rebel against Allah and follow their own souls, they will be wronging their own souls in the Hereafter.
These people will not find the life they desire in this world in the Hereafter because they are rebellious against Allah and do not fulfill their duties of servitude. These people will still deny Allah, wait for the Lord of their own imagination and think of taking revenge on Allah for subjecting them to the torment of Hell. Since their souls are not perfected, our Lord, who knows their condition, will leave them in Hell for eternity. In this respect, their hatred against Allah (swt) will grow and grow, and they will remain in Hell in the eternal torment of eternal life, because their souls have not perfected. May Allah protect us from such a character and such a torment.
What is said in the video
To one who understands, a mosquito is a saz; to one who does not, drums and pipes are too little. Yes.
They will want to get out of the fire. Even if there were a whole world more, even if they wanted to give it, no ransom is accepted, says Allah Almighty, doesn't He? So they will want to get out of the fire, He says. But they will not get out of there. That is the eternal, eternal life of hell. Remember, Hodja, they were saying, where does it say eternal for hell? And some who want to serve certain dark ambitions, presenting themselves as hodjas or scholars and guiding people, some hypocrites, you know, enemies of religion, you know — with wordplay, with wordplays: this, this, it also comes in this meaning, it does not (?) eternity, they say.
Yes, that is, in many places of Allah Almighty — we would say in hundreds of places, in hundreds of places: they are in the (?) of eternal hell, they are of eternal hell — their taking this 'eternal' out of that verse and freeing them from hell. That is: whatever you do in the world. Whatever you do. In the end you will get out of there one day, that is. Do not be afraid. This is a non-Muslim understanding. A non-Muslim understanding. These are the ones who serve them. Those who present themselves as hodjas and speak like this. The word of Allah Almighty is pre-eternal and everlasting. If He says eternal, it is eternal.
Do not forget this.
There are verses that they will stay there eternally. What is this verse?
First: Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. We, of the children of Adam — with those to emerge from their offspring We made a covenant, and We said: We are your Lord, He says. So this covenant — Allah Almighty, giving their partial will into their own hands — giving those people's partial will into their own hands, their wishes and desires, their aims, the people who had them written for themselves as destiny: over them Allah Almighty, not using His will, giving them their wishes and desires, their aims, as their destiny — Allah is not going to change their destinies again. Had We not willed, you could not will.
But a word has come from Us. Paradise and hell, He says. Yes. Those unaware of these verses, those who cannot grasp their meanings, presenting themselves as hodjas in the religion of Islam, those sold-out people — and I do say sold-out — or else, with his own passion to be a leader — in the hadith where it says whoever falls into the passion to be a leader loses his head, with that hadith — with the aim of flattering people, looking good, with the aim of looking enlightened, if by his own reason he stretches the verse, these wrong their own selves. Yes, what does Allah Almighty say in His verse? They will want to get out of the fire, but they will not get out of there.
For them there is a lasting punishment, He says. Lasting — there is no end to it — a lasting punishment, what does it mean? In one place He says eternal, in one place endless, eternal. That is why interpreting these by ta'wil, opening them up, leads people to kufr. In one place ta'wil, ta'wil — Sufism, Sufism — the Qadariyya, the Qadariyya — it brings forth (?). These are linked to each other. That is why it is not interpreted by ta'wil. In ta'wil, as I said, Sufism, and after Sufism those who are not qualified for it, the Qadariyya, and after the Qadariyya (?) — Allah protect us — take it as far as denying the verses, like this.
Isn't it like that in (?)? Those who try to open them up, as they open and open, go toward kufr. They go to kufr, to kufr. They go as far as denying the verses. Yes.
They will want to get out of the fire, but they will not get out of there. For them there is a lasting punishment. Those who rebel against Allah, those who do not obey Allah and His Messenger, those who deify their nafs, people who follow Satan's trail in pride and arrogance, on the Day of Resurrection, when they are driven into the fire, will want to get out of the fire. But they will not get out of the fire. They are there in eternal punishment. What does Allah Almighty say in His verse?
Whatever place they would go to, they are driven back into the fire by those on duty, He says. Yes.
Now a question like this may come to your mind. Here. People who live 60 or 70 years in their lifetime in the world, or who live longer than that — in return for the crimes they committed, that they should stay in the eternal fire or suffer punishment, is that fair?
Within a lifetime of 60–70 years, with an incomplete mind, for a mistake he made, his being held in the eternal life of hell as a recompense — is this fair, that is? So it may come to our mind. Of course, these are people who know nothing of the Quran's verses. Even if he is a hafiz of the Word, even if he memorizes it. We need to know the verses of the Quran well. Now look, what do we say? What do we say?
Yes.
And another question like this may come to our mind. If a thousand years of this world are like one day of the hereafter, since people's lifetimes in the world, relative to the hereafter, correspond to a life of an hour or two, for a few crimes of an hour or two, to remain subject to the eternal punishment of an undying realm — is that fair? Right. If we look to our nafs, if we speak by our reason like this, it is right.
How is it right? We know the life of this world.
We do not know where we came from. In terms of the verses, we do not know that we were created way back in the hereafter. Because we have not read the verses. Had we read the verses — now we will answer it like this. Allah Almighty, as He willed, from His Being as a (?), the spirit of the Prophet created. Then from his spirit the prophets, and from the prophets' spirits He created the spirits of the peoples. That is, He created us in the realm of Lahut. Then Allah Almighty addressed these spirits of ours. Our spirits are our real being; our bodies are entrusted to us. Look, in our bodies this provides our outward heart.
It provides our outward heart. And because we are lost in (?), in the life of the world — since in the hereafter we had (?) — so that, with the actions we invent, the self in which we were first created in the hereafter we may prove in this world, we put on an outward body. There, although Allah Almighty said to all the spirits, I am your Lord, those spirits, our spirits, to Allah Almighty — although knowing, that is: I was created by a Lord. (?) But those deniers: since when is this my Lord? He is like me and I am like him, they said, grew proud and turned their backs on Allah. Those whose own desires, these rights they wanted for themselves, those feelings there became their destiny, who would never obey Allah as Allah, and who wait for the Lord in their own minds — the verse that says they will not see their Lord.
And why — because they deified their own nafs, within the grandeur of their own being. And another question like this may come to our mind. If a thousand years of this world are like one day of the hereafter, since people's lifetimes in the world correspond, relative to the hereafter, to a life of an hour or two, for a crime of an hour or two, to remain subject to the eternal punishment of an undying realm, is it fair, we say. Yes.
In the hereafter Allah Almighty created our spirits.
He gave partial will into their hands. Whatever those people wished and aimed for, Allah Almighty gave them characters in that way. He did not interfere with them at all. In that case those who knew and those who did not were separated. Those who saw and those who did not know. So a word has come from Us. Paradise and hell, He says. If their characters, their wishes and desires, were written for them as destiny, if these people are within these characters, Allah Almighty, while He should have settled our account there, did not. While there. They were not convinced. They waited for the Lord of their imagination.
In that case Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes. That is: when You put me in hell, when You put me in punishment — had You sent me to a (?) realm, had You sent me to a realm where Your Being is not seen — because You created me like Your Being, I could not know You as my Lord; I would have known You there — so that he would not say this, these realms He created. What does He say? I sent you to a lost realm. Now, as some say, a lost realm — so is this world realm lost? With (?) games they want to bring a person somewhere. A realm where His Being is not seen. That is, He brought us into the world realm, placed us.
Is it actually not seen?
Now, our Lord, in many senses, we need to know Him. Your Lord. For example, He says: they ask you about the spirits. Say: it is a command of my Lord. The spirits are a command of my Lord. Here, how this command is, how in some places He uses it as an envoy, as He appeared to Mary, sir, as His Being He makes encompass wherever He wills — many secrets of these verses one must be acquainted with. Only a little knowledge of it has been given to you, He says. We need to have this little knowledge. If we have a little knowledge of this spirit, we grasp this very well. Now, since the degree is not there, explaining it here leads people toward kufr. That is why let us leave this here.
With a face that Allah Almighty gave those people from His Being, with the spirit, within those people's own characters and makeup, we denied Allah. With their own being, their ego and pride, their grandeur, waiting for the Lord of their imagination, with their denying Allah — into the world realm Allah Almighty sent them here, because He is free of deficient attributes. Come on, come on, I sent you to another realm. I sent you to a realm where My Being is not seen, He says. A realm where My Being is not seen.
You will again do the same thing. Because his character is this, He says. Now while saying this, was it really a realm where He was not seen? Suddenly we entered those places. According to that verse, He encompasses and perceives all eyes, He encompasses and perceives all eyes. But no eye encompasses Him; it sees but cannot perceive. It sees but cannot perceive. It cannot say: this is my Lord. That is the lost realm. So, since Allah will not leave His creation unattended. Our ancestors did not open it as I have, but they told the secret. What did they say? Take everyone who comes to your door as Khidr.
And take every night as the Night of Qadr. Yes. They said it in such meaningful ways. Now, so people who know nothing of those realms, who know nothing of the verses, can accuse Allah like this. Like this. But Allah is free of deficient attributes. What has He done? There, what we ourselves (?) wanted, He placed in us as characters, and we have come here to prove in this realm what kind of person we are. So even if we lived here not one year, not a thousand years, but hundreds of thousands of years, hundreds of thousands of years — even if we lived hundreds of thousands of years of the hereafter, neither would we change our characters, nor would we come to know Allah, or not listen.
Whatever each person's fitra is, he will live that. So here it is not even one hour — millions of days, the hours of years, are all one. What does He say? Did you think you would die without proving what kind of person you are? How beautifully your characters in that realm — here proving what kind of person you are. Yes. Now, the place we are about to read — after opening these parts this much you will understand it better, God willing. As the answer to these questions, in a verse Allah Almighty declares that this realm is the likeness and shadow of the hereafter. According to this verse, if we evaluate crimes committed according to the laws of this world, people, apart from a life sentence or a death sentence, as a result of the crimes they committed, if he has a lifetime, apart from prison or a death sentence, as a result of the crimes you committed, if he has a lifetime — they, not carrying out Allah's commands, lived for their nafs.
But a person who has not (?) from Allah and His Messenger, that is, has not left Islam, whose light of faith has not reached perfection, and who has not left Islam, whose light of faith has not reached perfection, and who has passed to the hereafter with his sins — these are the punishments such people will suffer. Even if these enter hell, even if they suffer punishment in hell as much as their sin, in the end they will come out of hell and enter the paradises that are Allah's promise. Yes. They will enter the paradises that are Allah's promise. He has not left the light of faith, but he has punishments.
A sinner. One is like this. The other has denied Allah from birth.
Those in the situation of a life sentence:
a person who commits a crime in that situation cannot get out of prison as long as he lives in the world; his freedom has been taken from him; he stays in prison until he dies. The one sentenced to death is the same. He is killed in return for his crime. That is, he is done away with. Since there is no death in the hereafter, these, like a continuous life sentence, to eternal punishment remain subject. The reason is that the more such people see punishment, the more their grudge against Allah Almighty grows, and as their grudge grows, they remain in eternal punishment. They are not going to be set right, nor will their nafs reach perfection.
We have given examples here, two examples. One, the (?) of Islam, and one of the non-Muslim — that is, one, the sinner of Islam, and one, the sinner of the non-Muslim, as examples here we have given. The sinner of Islam, on condition that the light of faith is in him, to the hereafter has passed. But his sins are many. In that case what happens? He burns in hell as much as his sin, and comes out. Or he suffers punishment and comes out. His nafs, his faith reaches perfection. The other is a life sentence. For him there is no more getting out. There until he dies — and since in the hereafter there is no death either.
These are people of eternal hell, that is, people who remain subject to punishment. These are there. The reason for those who remain subject to eternal punishment: the more they see punishment, the more their grudge against Allah Almighty grows. That is the trait in their very fitra. And as the grudge grows, they stay there eternally. These are waiting for the Lord of their imagination. They have entered that world and cannot get out of it. And because they are in the state of wanting to take revenge on Allah, who created them. Well, in this case, had Allah Almighty shown mercy and, like the others, changed their program and sent them — even if He changed their program, had He sent them, brought them up to paradise, sent them to paradise, lifted the punishment, wouldn't that do?
Wouldn't it do, had He changed their programs? Then Allah Almighty has angels whose programs He changes, whom, in proportion to His own will, He created. What need was there for man? What need was there for man? There was a need for those who (?) their Lord by their own will. He has angels. He has programmed their programs. So, without Himself programming at all, without making a program over people, man by his own perception, by his own wish, would have himself programmed. That was the aim. And they would long for their Lord by their own wishes, and would be within judgment. In this case, paradise and hell come about.
In earlier lessons we spoke of the covenants. However man gave his covenant to Allah, Allah Almighty wrote such a destiny for man. Destiny. No created being can change its own destiny. Therefore, since in their destiny there is a fitra that will rebel against Allah, they can never feel love for Allah. Therefore, since Allah is just, He does not take a person whose nafs has not found rest and put him in paradise. A person whose nafs has not reached perfection with the light of faith being freed, that is, getting out of hell, would mean, in paradise too, corrupting people. He will come there too and do the same thing.
Because he will not meddle in Allah Almighty's will. Come on, you have suffered the (?), get out, He will say. He will come there and again continue in sin and depravity. Yes.
At the same time, Allah is not a tyrant who would wrong them and, in return for the wrong, take pleasure from them. Allah forbid. Allah is not a tyrant, of course. Yes.
If there were such a wrong, He would send neither a prophet nor a book. Nor would He send His scholars who give people life, who would speak to them, sir, of the hereafter, of Allah, of paradise, sir, or of hell, and call them to the truth — those scholars.
His sending prophets and books to people in a way that (?), showing the crooked and the straight paths, teaching people what they did not know, in return for promising them paradise. If man still rebels against Allah and follows his own nafs — if he follows his own nafs, then these people in the hereafter too, their own selves they will have wronged.
Because these people rebel against Allah and do not fulfil their duties of servanthood, they will not find in the hereafter the life they longed for in the world.
Because Allah says this in His verse. They — their children and (?), their children and (?), all of them, even if they gave them away to be saved; and in the world too, what were these saying? If there is a paradise, it is our right. Because we have property, we have possessions. We (?), we are more numerous than you. And what answer does Allah Almighty give them? If so, (?) If so, show it, He says.
Yes. these people still will deny Allah, will wait in their own minds for the Lord of their own imagination, and will think of taking revenge on Allah, who left them subject to the punishment of hell; they cannot get out of this thought, out of this world at all; these stay there. Since their nafs has not reached perfection, our Lord, who knows their states, in eternal hell will leave them. Therefore their grudge against Allah Almighty will keep growing. Since their nafs has not reached perfection, these people, in the endless punishment of eternal life, will remain in hell.
And yet Allah Almighty will extend His mercy to them. What does He say in His verse? After they suffer punishment there for many thousands of years, they will neither feel nor taste, He says. What does this mean? In this punishment, their nerve senses Allah Almighty will remove. Again — look at His mercy again. Them — although they denied our Lord, Allah Almighty, their nerve senses will remove. You know, when putting a person into surgery, they inject morphine, numb him, cut, carve, and he feels no pain; just so, as the filth of hell, they will stay there. Mere filth from then on. May Allah protect us from such a punishment.
