When they are told “do not cause mischief on earth”, they say “verily, we are only peacemakers”.
Tafsir
People who have turned their backs on Allah (swt) think only of the few pennies they can get without thinking about the end result. They do not calculate that they will suffer great calamities behind their backs. They are dizzy with the love of the world and what they will benefit from. And they do not think that in the future they are pushing their family and children into a dark future. Those who use such people as pawns, those who have the seed of sedition in their hearts against the religion of Allah, benefit from them and are subject to the directives of such dark hands. By creating sedition in the society in the direction indicated by the dark hands, by acting in the way they say, they bring the nation to ruin.
Even if such people are aware of the state of the society, they fall for the promises of the people in the dark forces they trust behind them, i.e. they think that the path they show is the right one, and they say that our job is to reform, i.e. to make things right.
What is said in the video
To Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 11, we now come.
When they are told 'do not cause corruption,' they say 'our work is to set things right.'
Every person, by his own reason, thinks he will do everything best. But because the human mind is deficient — deficient — if, saying 'I will do the best,' he relies on his mind and casts Allah's verses behind him, this mind, created deficient, since it cannot benefit from Allah's light, from that light, is like people who, in the dark of night, bump into things left and right. So these people — what do they say? When they are told 'do not cause corruption,' they say 'our work is to set things right.'
We lived through this. We lived this verse first-hand.
If, in the years I'm speaking of, those who heard my words were the embodiment of this verse. In the years 1978–80 — I won't name names — one of those at the top. When blood was flowing everywhere, at the time anarchy reared its head, those serving dark ambitions — when asked when they would fix this situation, 'we will put things right,' they said. And they were the ones 'setting things right'. But they are unaware; they are the ones spreading corruption, says the next verse. So these are people who do not turn to the truth and, even if they are aware, perhaps, dark ambitions they serve. If they don't serve dark ambitions, they are unaware people not governed by Allah's verses.
The other evening, yesterday evening, at the (?) opening, the prime minister is speaking.
What does he say? 'While nations advanced, we were lulled to sleep,' he says. How well he puts it. That's what we were saying all along. While nations advanced, they held us back. They struck from within. The anarchists. And they too said 'our work is to set things right.' Deceiving people this way, they didn't get even an ant's length ahead.
Be wise. 'Wise — those who don't take a lesson from their past are fools,' it says. People who don't learn from their past are fools. I always say it; I remind you of Fatih's words.
'Against the (?), the places our hand reaches they cannot even imagine,' he says. Gentlemen, don't misunderstand me. I am not a party man. I never take a party's side. Never. I am both a patriot and a nationalist. I think of my nation. I think of this homeland of mine. I never forgive those who betray this homeland of mine. So know well those who serve the homeland. Those who produce empty talk, who gossip, who clash with one another and rob the state treasury — their time is over now. Wise up. Wise up.
Find wise people.
Here are the verses — look how beautifully they say it: when they are told 'do not cause corruption,' they say 'our work is to set things right.' Their minds reach only that far. People who have turned their backs on Allah Almighty, without thinking of the end of anything, only for a few pennies of gain in return — this verse describes that time; this tells me just as it says. We wrote this in veiled form. That great disasters would follow them they don't reckon; the love of the world — in return for the things they'll profit from — turns their heads; those gains, that money. He doesn't think beyond it, what will happen in the end; he himself will be disgraced too. He has no idea of this.
And they don't realise that they are pushing their family, their wife and children, into a dark future. For their actions, for those who give them gain — those who, against Allah's religion, carry seeds of strife in their hearts, following the directives of such dark hands, in the direction the dark hands point, stirring strife in society and acting along their line, subject the nation to (?).
Yes.
We are writing here, with verses, the pains of what we lived through in the past. Allah shows us the way. The way, with His verses. We lived through these, and we are writing down these pains.
Such people, even looking at these conditions of society, trusting the dark powers behind them, taken in by the promises of their people, that is, believing the way they show to be right, say: 'our work is to set things right.' That is, 'to put things in order,' they say.
Now Allah Almighty, in the verse after it, says: know well that they are the ones who cause strife. They are unaware. How beautifully He says it.
As some brainless people say, 'those are verses of the past' — no, Allah's verse does not stay in the past. It speaks of the future just as much. It always tells what will happen. He informs us. Our Lord, the One who created us — it is He. Just turn to your Lord, and you'll see everything around you like a radar. Radar. Yes.
