Those are the ones who are on the path shown by their Lord. And those are the ones who reach salvation.
Tafsir
Allah (swt) gives us glad tidings in this verse that the people we have described above will be saved.
In the first verse of Surat al-Fatih (Inna fetehna leke fethan mubina), the true victory is the victory of those who attain salvation by gaining the closeness of Allah (swt). Again in the 5th verse of Surat al-Fatih:
(All this is) that He may put the believing men and believing women into Gardens with rivers flowing from the ground, where they will abide forever, and that He may cover their sins. This is a great salvation in the sight of Allah.
[These Verses will be revealed to you in due course].
So, O human being! Let us all reach salvation hand in hand by heeding the Verses of Allah (swt). Let us not lose the eternal realm by preferring this mortal realm to the hereafter. May Allah (swt) add us to the group of those who follow the right path, surrender to Allah (swt) and attain salvation.
What is said in the video
We come to verse 5, Surah Al-Baqarah. What does it say? Ülâike alâ hüden min rabbihim ve ülâike hümü'l-müflihûn. Such people are on the right path shown by their Lord. And they are the ones who attain salvation. How beautifully Allah Almighty puts it. How nice — Empoze has asked a question. What a nice question he has asked. And how nicely related to our lesson. Yes.
We continue.
Allah Almighty, with this (?), gives us the good news through His verses that the people we described above will attain salvation. He gives the good news.
What is it? Well, the translation of the verse: Such people are on the right path shown by their Lord. And they are the ones who attain salvation. Who are these? The believers. What did they do? They struggled with their nafs. They did not leave the path our Lord showed. They obeyed Allah as far as they were able. In that case Allah Almighty says to them: if you did what I told you, and if you were (?) to this nafs I gave you, and if you did not believe the words of those who deny Me, and if you supported the unity and togetherness I established, then — with the verse 'who is as faithful to his word as Allah?' — I give you the good news of that Paradise I promised you, He says. And they are the ones who attain salvation, He says.
In the first verse of Surah Al-Fath, with the noble verse He began with Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, the true victory is the victory of those who attain salvation by gaining nearness to Allah Almighty. Look what He says in the fifth verse of Surah Al-Fath. Let's open Surah Al-Fath. Let's open Surah Al-Fath and see. What does it say in its fifth verse?
Surah Al-Fath. Verses 2-3-4-5 (?). Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Li yüdhile'l-mü'minîne ve'l-mü'minâti cennâtin tecrî min tahtihe'l-enhâru hâlidîne fîhâ ve yükeffira anhüm seyyiâtihim. Ve kâne zâlike indallâhi fevzen azîmâ. Look what it says: all the believing men and women will be placed forever in gardens beneath which rivers flow, and their sins will be covered and they will never be asked about them. This is the greatest victory in the sight of Allah. So what is victory? The superiority of states over states is a victory, and that day they declare (?). But these are temporary. Pay attention! From our father Adam until today, many states have won victories.
But many of those victories, those peoples, those states have vanished. Well, if you have reached victory in the sight of your Lord, if you have broken your nafs, become a believer, and by your Lord's command gained His pleasure, you have attained the true victory, and you have become a sultan. A sultan. Again, pay attention. Since the Prophet (peace be upon him), how many companions, how many saints are still preserving themselves under the ground. Those places we call yatır, those people — these are them. Look, their victories will last until the Day of Judgement. Even if states disappear, even if states are abolished, these are the saints, the awliya, the martyrs, the (?), the class of the muqarrabun. These are sultans until the Day of Judgement, sultans, the sultans of the earth, and in the Hereafter, without question or account, people who have earned the gardens Allah promised.
That is victory — their victory. How did they win this victory? By gaining mastery over their nafs.
Who makes them do this? The tariqas make them do it. How is mastery over the nafs gained? The teacher at his head makes him do it by guiding him, his student. Empoze. And that student, by making rabita to his teacher — it does not mean he is asking from Allah. So that he can carry out his Lord's command, you see, so that he can advance on His path, it is asking help from his teacher — this is rabita. Yes. Empoze, understand well, or understand well, all of you, this: in the verses we said it would be opened to you when its turn comes. So, O mankind, listening to the verses of Allah Almighty, the Most Holy, let us all together, hand in hand, attain salvation, we said.
What did we say earlier? Islam is not about blood kinship. In Islam, people of the same mindset, who put their foreheads in prostration before the Merciful, to that same one Lord, with the same thoughts, are brothers. If there is a believer at one end of the world and a believer at the (?), the two are brothers, He says. He says 'brother', not 'blood brother'. Many blood brothers have become enemies of each other.
So we will guard the bonds of brotherhood well. To guard the bonds of brotherhood we will know our religion very well, we will know Islam very well, and within the Islamic mindset we will protect our unity and togetherness.
Yes.
And at the end we prayed: may Allah Almighty revive all of us into the group of those who surrender and attain salvation, we said. Here we finished verse 5 of Surah Al-Baqarah.
