Translation

(Some amongst humankind) they say; “We believed in Allah and the Prophet, and we obeyed,” then some of them turn away. Those are not believers.

Tafsir

Some people say, "We believe in Allah and the Prophet". In fact, they are not believers. When Allah (swt) mentions some of these people, He is referring to hypocrites who pretend to be believers within Islam, but in fact have not accepted Islam.

People who are hypocrites say that they believe in Allah and the Prophet and then turn their backs on Muslims after they leave them. Allah (swt) informs the Prophet (s.a.w.) about such people. He reminds Muslims that there are such people in every age. He commands Muslims to be cautious against such people. If Muslims who believe in Islam do not fulfill any of the conditions of Islam, such people are like people who have lost their vital functions and are in a coma with only one breath in and out.

Hypocrites are people who pretend to be believers in Islam, but in fact do not believe and do not fulfill the commands of Allah. The hypocrites who appear to be Muslims do not pray the Fajr and Isha prayers in the mosque. And the prayers they perform during the day are not out of faith, but in order that the Muslims may recognize them as Muslims, and that they may profit from them in the midst of Islam.

What is said in the video

We have come to verse 47 of Surah An-Nur.

Some people say, we have believed in Allah and the Prophet and obeyed. Then a group of them turns away. These are not believers.

Some people say, we have believed in Allah and the Prophet. In fact these are not people who believe. When Allah Almighty speaks of these "some people", He is speaking of the hypocrites who seem to believe within Islam but have in fact not accepted Islam. Hypocrites. Whoever they go to, they appear to be on their side.

People who are hypocrites say, we have believed in Allah, in the Prophet. And after leaving the Muslims, they turn their backs and go. Such people Allah Almighty makes known to the Prophet (peace be upon him). That in every age there are such people, the Muslims are reminded. And in this age too the greatest hypocrite, as you know, is one who looks Islamic but is an enemy of Islam, who drags Islam along behind him and exploits the conscience of Muslims, and as an agent in the world (?) people, takes them out of Islam, the Pope's (?), cardinal, cardinal — no, not cardinal, missionary, Hodja. Missionary, missionary, missionary let me be, he says, that is, I am at your command, he says; who entered the Pope's command, his situation, the situation, after it came to light, left the homeland and went to live among his own supporters; since he brings his supporters great benefit, his supporters also keep him under protection; in this situation still being under their protection, and aware that once his feed is cut off, they too will slap him, a person going through crises.

The greatest hypocrite of our time.

He commands Muslims to be cautious against such people. Where? When you say "Muslim" — a person — and I understand a Muslim like this, a Muslim must be so: knowing that there is no god besides Allah, that all the prophets are true, that resurrection after death is true, that the books and the angels are true, and that upon Allah's promise he came into the world, that his eating, his drinking in the world, his sustenance, all of it is given by Allah, and that one day he will leave this sustenance and give account in the presence of his Lord, in the presence of our Lord — knowing this, the person who conducts his affairs in the world accordingly is a Muslim.

A Muslim is merciful. A Muslim has a conscience.

A Muslim does not lie.

A Muslim does not sell his religion for worldly gain.

A Muslim does not stray from truthfulness.

A Muslim helps the poor and needy as much as he can. A Muslim knows that another Muslim is my brother.

The person who abandons his brother has in fact abandoned himself. He should doubt his faith. For this reason Islam needs to close ranks. Allah Almighty in His verse says, if there is a believer at one end of the world and at the other end a believer, these are brothers.

There is a deep meaning in this too. I will not open it up. But if I open it, people need to be more careful. Why does Allah Almighty say, if there is a believer at one end of the world and a believer at the other, they are brothers? He does not say Islam. But people say, if there is a Muslim at one end of the world and a Muslim at the other, they are brothers, they say. That is not it. Since there is no going back for the believer, and since in His word Allah Almighty can have no (?), He declares them brothers. But the Muslim, look, in the end drifts off to the open, drifts away. He becomes a non-Muslim.

In this case we say: O human, you say I am a Muslim, but are you truly honored with the light of Islam?

You will ask yourself. You will ask your conscience. If your conscience stamps it, if it stamps what I have said, you are a Muslim. How will you have it stamped? You will ask yourself like this. O my nafs! If they offered me a hundred thousand lira right now, what would I do? If they told you, leave your religion. If they offered five hundred thousand lira, what would I do? If they offered a trillion, what would I do? Forget that. If they gave me the world, what would I do? You yourself will give you a very good answer. Your conscience answers. As if it were taking it, it presses this on you. If you truly draw the sword of "la" against this, the sword of "la".

As the lover says, after you say "la", look what remains, he says. All created things are gone; for you, he says, O lover, no partner to the Truth remains, it is over, he says. So if we are going to the real world at the end of our life, and if this world we are going to leave here, if this world, like the flower of a (?) tree blooming in a swamp, makes you covet it and you have let yourself be dragged towards it, you harm your nafs, you do it damage. So a Muslim will ask himself these things. He asks this, and if he gets a straight answer from himself, not a crooked one, then his faith is strong.

His future too is secure, his hereafter too is secure.

Yes, the rest besides these play it slippery.

And then: Hodja, why can't we attain spirituality?

Hodja, why can't we become a (?)? Hodja, why can't we become people of knowledge, spiritual knowledge? Develop yourself and become one; is Allah not opening the doors to you at all?

He does not discriminate among His servants; He does not say, you will find it, you cannot do it. Come on, I dare you.
