Al-Baqarah 23: If you are in doubt about the Qur’an which We’ve sent down to Our servant, and if you are (really) righteous people, bring a chapter similar to it’s chapters, and bring (all) your testifiers, other than Allah, to help you for this.

Verse 23: And if, concerning what We sent down to Our servant, the Quran, you are in doubt... Now what did Allah Almighty do? After proving the heavens and the earth, that He sent down water from the sky, that He set up this great order, after proving it: if, concerning what We sent down to Our servant, the Quran, you are in doubt, that is, the one who set up this order, that it is Allah's word; that this Quran, which the creator of this place, of these worlds, Allah who created the worlds, sent to you as an envoy, did not come from Allah: if you doubt that, He says, doubt, then come, bring a surah like it, He says.

Like it. And call your witnesses other than Allah to help too, if you are truthful, He says. Let's read, let's explain it sentence by sentence. Sentence by sentence. What did we say before? The word of Allah Almighty is built on letters. Alif, lam, mim. What does it mean? Allah knows best. But what does Allah Almighty say? Those with sickness in their hearts, those with disease, set out to give meaning to these. Whereas its meaning, He says, is only with Allah. (?), (?), Yasin: what do these mean? Allah knows best. By the combination of these letters a verse is formed. That verse shows man a way.

Human speech, however, is mere fabrication. The letters, the letters one speaks, have no meanings of their own. Even though the same letters as Allah Almighty, the letters Allah Almighty used, are used, these verses, or these letters, because they are within a fabrication without proof, never match a verse. All languages? Yes, all languages are within fabrications without proof. If it were not so, they would match the verses. They would match the verses. In this case all languages are speaking in vague, fabricated letters. But the verses of Allah Almighty, by certain letters coming side by side: perhaps those two letters say a verse, another meaning.

The third letter says another meaning. The fourth letter says another meaning. They combine into a verse; say it is made of fifteen letters, from the combinations of these fifteen letters thousands of meanings emerge. Thousands of meanings. In this case, what does the Prophet (peace be upon him) say? The Prophet, who came as a mercy to the worlds, says: I would repent seventy times a day for my falling short, he says. This falling short is not from a fault of the one who came as a mercy to the worlds. Say, when he received the fiftieth meaning of a verse, when he received the fiftieth, when he saw that the forty-ninth was incomplete and flawed, he would repent.

When he received the 70th meaning, he would understand the 69th was incomplete and flawed by comparison, and for that falling short he would repent. Now I ask: which of us receives the meaning of a verse in which month, in which year? That Prophet, the meaning of every verse, the meaning of every verse, 70 times a day he would rise with the meanings of that verse. In this case, among people, is there another being to be held equal to him among the created? Will you hold the prophets equal? No, the prophets too were created from his spirit. So since there is no created being equal to him, Allah Almighty set him apart from the created and gave him the eighth paradise, the Maqam Mahmud, and people cannot even imagine it, He says.

They cannot even imagine it.

However many supporters you have, however many idols you worship, however many charms and temptations of Satan, sir, of the Satan you worship, there are, however much, sir, the spirit of the god in your mind you manifest with your own being and take as inspiration for yourself, even if you bring all these worlds together, you still cannot bring the meaning of one verse. It is impossible. Because for your or my short mind, the mind of these created beings, to put a verse together is impossible. (?) Allah Almighty proves this. What does He say? If you are in doubt about the Quran We sent down to Our servant, then come, bring a surah like it and call your witnesses other than Allah to help.

Who are these? Their devils, the fabrications of the spirit of the god they invented by their own minds, even if they brought these beings together, it is impossible for them to bring the equivalent of one verse. Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the servant of Allah Almighty and His Messenger. If Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a prophet you do not recognise, if you deny him: he is among the truthful and is trustworthy, says Allah Almighty. Among the truthful and trustworthy. Our Lord informs us of this with verses. The Quran was sent to him as a miracle. What does Allah Almighty say? Do not set out to deny it.

You too know Allah's existence. And We, He says, sent Muhammad (peace be upon him) to you as a prophet. And We sent the Quran down to him as a light and a proof before you. To the worlds: if He sent him as a prophet to the worlds, if the Quran came down to the Messenger of Allah, the Holy Quran came down to the worlds. This is a book from Us calling you to guidance, says the Holy Quran. A book from Allah Almighty calling His creatures to guidance. Because the human mind was created deficient; the human mind cannot possibly know everything. So people will run into difficulties. Since Allah Almighty does not will injustice for His creatures, His words that grant them life He will place before people as proof. If you have doubts about this book, come on then, you too, in response to any verse in the book I sent you, bring a word. Impossible, you cannot bring it.

Those of short mind might think like this, the short-minded. They might think like this: Allah Almighty says yâ eyyühellezîne âmenû, O you who believe. I say too: O you who believe. So what? What's the difference? Isn't this the equivalent of the verse? Now, when it says yâ eyyühellezîne âmenû, pay attention, short-minded one. Allah's has the letter ya, the letter alif, there is a mark above it; it says ya, ya. Ellezîne âmenû: alif, a lam, next to it a mim, a nun; what do you say? I believed. O you who believe! What else? The way those letters come together is different.

By putting these letters side by side, can you make a word? Within the meanings of those letters, in harmony with each other, as the equivalent of a verse, can you speak it within the words you speak? Is this possible? There, what did I say? We speak with fabricated words, we communicate with fabricated words. The letters of all languages arise with words fabricated among one another. Yes, if you are telling the truth, this is never possible for mankind. Why is it not possible? We say it: Allah Almighty's word is built on letters. We mentioned it in the earlier verses too. When our Lord sends a verse, by bringing together (?) letters He addresses mankind in a way we can understand.

Yet in the letters within these verses there are secrets of creation. In these too there are secrets of creation. Which letters? I cannot know. That belongs to our Lord. He also reveals those secrets of creation to us. How do you know, Hodja? How do you know? Look. Whatever is wet or dry, know it is in the Quran, He says. What does this mean? Whatever comes to your mind, everything is in the Quran. With Us there is a book which is preserved in the Mahfuz. After it, neither addition nor deficiency is made, He says. So all these programs, all these worlds, all these secrets of the created are in letters within the Holy Quran.

And this is a book unlocked with secrets only within our Lord's knowledge. A proof that shows us the way only as we can understand within those secrets and holds a light before us. The Holy Quran. Yes.

Which letter, next to which letter, carries what meaning, what secrets fall. These are like a formula. Whereas mankind's speech is words that (?) determined by their own inventions. In this respect, just as mankind's word cannot be held equal to Allah Almighty's word, it cannot resemble it either.

Our Lord, who knows that a likeness of a verse is impossible for mankind, though mankind knows the Holy Quran is Allah's word, knowingly denying Allah's word: (?) Our existence in every proof, although We proved it to you, (?) do not drown (?), He commands. In every way, with His word, with the beings He created, with His knowledge, Allah Almighty shows His Essence to us. What does He say?

He is manifest outwardly in manifestations. Visible in the worlds, manifest outwardly in manifestations. I don't have to see Ahmet Efendi or Mehmet Efendi with these eyes, do I? The proofs of his existence are out there. With the proofs of his existence I understand Ahmet Efendi's existence. There is a glass in this hand. A glass. Did you see the master who made the glass? I didn't. Well, if there were no master who made this glass, would this glass exist? Could it be like this? The master proves himself. That master, as Allah, makes known His (?). In these worlds, Allah Almighty, who created all beings not made by human hands, gave them shape and put them at man's service, proves His Essence to people in this way.

In every way. There it is: manifest outwardly in manifestations. That unseen (?).

That is, the unseen (?). Hateme'llâhu alâ kulûbihim ve alâ sem'ihim ve alâ ebsârihim gişâveh, ve lehüm azâbün azîm. There is a veil over their eyes and a plug in their ears, and their hearts are sealed. These will never see again. These are blind, deaf, dumb. Yes, and also there is mention of calling the witnesses to help: call the witnesses, He says. Since the earth, the heavens and what is between them, by Allah Almighty, who is one and besides whom there is no god, were created, since our Lord created no being equal to His Essence, all created things, all existence, are in need of Allah Almighty.

We created it so; Allah, who programmed it so, since He knows what is in what way, come then, whichever of His creatures you trust, call them to help too: thus, we had said, He makes His existence known to us with every verse. Yes.
