Tafsir
When Allah (swt) said, "I am your Lord," in His covenant with the spirits in the eternal state of eternity (Elestu bi Rabbikum), even though man's intellect is a proof that Allah (swt) is above him, because of the pride and greatness in man's soul, these people denied their Lord and made a covenant. Again, because of the traits of their nafs, these people wanted their covenant to be for their egoistic interests, desires and wishes. Since they are not faithful to their promises, they have made Allah (swt) program them to commit all kinds of misdeeds in the direction of their own interests. Such people do not return to the eternal truth.
When they are told not to make mischief in the earth, not to stir it up, not to shed blood unjustly, to take care of the needy, to respect the rights and laws of living beings, they do not listen to Allah's command.
These are the losers. They are those who exchange a little temporary worldly benefit for the Hereafter.
What is said in the video
To verse 27.
They make a covenant with Allah in such a way that they will not keep their word.
When told, do not cause corruption on earth, they do not heed Allah's command. These are the losers.
Now, in the verse, another wrongly translated verse. Verse 27. Pay attention.
They are such transgressors, it says, that after giving a firm word they go back on their word. Tell it to the back of my ear.
This translation... to this translation, you tell the back of my ear. Why, Hodja? Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Ve iz ehaze rabbüke min benî Âdeme min zuhûrihim zürriyyetehüm ve eşhedehüm alâ enfüsihim, elestü bi rabbiküm. From the offspring of the children of Adam, I made a covenant with those who would emerge: your Lord, I am, He says. If his desire, wish and intent became his own destiny, which brave soul could change this destiny? Here's another verse for you. If We do not will, you cannot will. That is, with Us there is a book; it is preserved in the Preserved Tablet. Nothing is later added to it nor taken from it.
Your desire and wish, your intent, became your destiny. Only I change this, He says. And from Me too a word (?) came to be, He says. The word: Paradise and Hell. We will not interfere in what people do. We gave them their intents as their destiny. I will not lift their wills from them and use My own will over them, He says. There you go. So in this case, which of them will give a word and not keep it? He will give a word, Allah Almighty will, well, set his character the way he gave that word, and then he will go back on it? What happened? It ascribed attributes to Allah. This time Allah became unable to know their states.
How could He not know? You see, there was not a single living being to come until the Day of Judgment such that I would not know what it would not do. Well, in this case, if they act in a way not keeping their word, what they will do a moment later Allah cannot know, then. But they are programmed in such a way. Until the Day of Judgment, second by second; not day by day, not hour by hour, not minute by minute, second by second He knows what they will do. Second by second. He programmed this according to the covenant destiny they gave. Look, what is the correct one? They make a covenant with Allah in such a way that they will not keep their word.
In such a way that they will not keep their word. That is, He gives character accordingly. Then, well,
whereas Allah wants them visited and asked after, they give up visiting those people, and those who stir up sedition and corruption on earth, they are truly the ones who suffer loss. In the verse: they make a covenant with Allah in such a way that they will not keep their word. When told, do not cause corruption on earth, they do not heed Allah's command. They don't heed. Why? Because they made a covenant in such a way as not to keep their word. They turned their backs on Allah. They made a covenant in such a way as not to heed Allah's command. These are the losers. What loss, that is? In trade?
Those who leave their nafs exposed to the fire. Those who push themselves into the eternal realm of Hell. What does Allah Almighty say? For Hell, what an evil place of return it is. What an evil place of return it is. Yes. In (?), in Allah Almighty's covenant with the spirits, when He said I am your Lord, although man's mind, on its own, is a proof that knows Allah Almighty, man, because of the pride and grandeur in his nafs, denying his Lord, and again because of the traits in his nafs, wanting his (?) in the direction of his selfish interests, desire and wish: this shows they are not faithful to their word; in such a way that they would commit every evil for their own interests, they have had themselves programmed by Allah Almighty.
How well we put it. What they will do, what passes through the heart: in your hearts, He says, in the remotest corner, what you need and don't know, We know, He says. Why? The characters in that spirit, what your desire and wish are, He knows, and He places those characters in you like that.
What were you? What kind of person were you? You don't recognize Allah as Allah. You wait for the Lord in your imagination. Then, whatever You say, I will never obey what You say. Well, in this case Allah Almighty knows in which characters, in which feelings you are, and your mouth and your deeds write it to you as destiny. How beautiful. That is, man builds a robot. Whatever man will have that robot do, he programs that, programs it. But Allah Almighty, by leaving man free in his will, that person programs himself with his own desire and wish. How beautiful. So, this is who I am. I said. (?) you don't care about death, He says.
Until you prove yourselves, until you prove what kind of person you are, did you think you would die, He says. Or did you think you would die without proving yourselves, He says. Yes.
When these are told: do not cause corruption on earth, do not stir up trouble, do not unjustly shed blood, look after those in need, observe the rights and laws of living beings, they do not heed Allah Almighty's command. What does it say anyway?
When told, do not cause corruption on earth, they do not heed Allah's command.
Well, again, what does Allah Almighty say in the verse?
Let's read it here. Anyway, the verses always each other Among people there were some, it says, who, though they did not believe, say: we believe in Allah and the Last Day. They deceive Allah and the believers. Yet they deceive only themselves, and they were not aware of it, He says. Verse ten of Al-Baqarah: in their hearts there is a disease. And Allah has increased their disease. The verse has been translated wrongly. They themselves increased this disease of theirs. Because of the lies they keep telling, for them there is a painful torment. Now comes verse eleven. When they are told, do not cause corruption on earth, they say: we are only reformers, it says.
We are reformers. We covered these in earlier lessons. So what does this verse say? When told, do not cause corruption on earth, they do not heed Allah's command. What do they say? We are reformers, they say. Then: know that they are the corrupters themselves, but they do not understand. We lived through these in their time, we said, we explained. From time to time we will repeat. The Quran is a remembrance. What is remembrance? It is repetition. Allah Almighty too says: if it were a human (?), there would be in it many (?) inconsistent with each other, He says. So all the verses do not contradict but confirm and support each other.
What did we say earlier? In the years '78 to '80. We, the word was exactly this, we are the ones setting things right, we prevent bloodshed. That's exactly the word. The owner of that word knows himself. Pardon? They said it, but they drowned the place in (?). Who were these? Who were they? Let's read it again. Let's say it from the verse. Pardon?
When they are told, do not cause corruption on earth, they say: we will only reform. They said exactly the word. We will be reformed. Know that they are the corrupters themselves. But they do not know. They do not understand. It continues after that. Look, what is their state? The same verse. When they are told, believe as the people have believed, shall we believe as the foolish, the mindless and stupid people believed? Who are these mindless and foolish people? In their minds, the Muslims. Well, who are these? These are Masons. The Masons at a certain level among the Jews. People who see themselves as superior to people and divide humans into classes.
And these, as people superior to themselves, see only people in the rank above them. Other people are their slaves and servants. So since they see themselves this way, they see themselves as close to Allah too. And Allah Almighty says to them so well: if so, their proofs in their hands let them bring, He says. Then let them wish for death right away, He says, death. They, He says, even if they had a thousand years of life in the world, He says, on top of that thousand they would want to add another thousand years. You answer in the verse too. These are all Allah's verses. So know people well. People's words that suit your nafs, don't lend your ear to them.
With those who know what is right through the mind's comparing faculty govern yourselves. Even if it weighs heavy on your nafs. What does Allah Almighty say? When it weighs on the nafs, look what the verse says. Keep up the prayer. (?) When you stand for prayer you act lazily, and it weighs on you, but continue anyway, He says. How well Allah Almighty puts it. Everything of His is beautiful. Everything is very beautiful. Yes. 27. It was verse 27, wasn't it? When these are told: do not cause corruption on the earth, do not stir up trouble, do not unjustly shed blood, look after those in need, observe the rights and laws of living beings, they do not heed Allah Almighty's command.
Why don't they heed? Because of that pride and arrogance in them. Because they see those people as lower than themselves, because they say, would they ever believe as that Muslim believes? Because they are close ones of Allah too, with their wealth and property; if anyone is to be close to Allah, they of course, with their families, wealth and property, as people closer to Allah see themselves. Hey, brainless person, that wealth and property are Allah's. The heavens and the earth: the inheritance of the beings between these two will remain to Allah, He says. Look how well He puts it. What does it say? The inheritance of the heavens and the earth and what is between them is Allah's, it says, Allah's. Why? Does Allah have a need?
He wants to tell you this, this. Listen well. The heavens and the earth. What is between these two. Those surrounded by the Throne of Allah. Every living and nonliving particle you see, Allah created; that's why. They are what Allah created. All are Allah's creations. In this respect they are Allah's inheritance. It will remain to Allah. You will be stripped even of this body of yours. Of your body. The body too is a trust given to you. Is there a verse? Of course there is. For the way you used the body given to you, you will be called to account, says Allah Almighty. To account. If this body too is a trust given to you, with what mind, of your wealth, your property are you boasting, boasting of your family, and so you become Allah's close one?
May Allah set you right. May Allah give you a mind and understanding. Yes. So these are the ones who suffer loss. They are the ones who exchange the hereafter for a little passing worldly gain, He said. Who are these? Those who fatten their nafs with this world, with selfish feelings, with fame, gaining glory and turning their backs on the hereafter, people who, within the destiny of the covenant they gave in their own realm of the hereafter, prove in this world what kind of covenant they gave, turning their backs on the hereafter, looking down like this on the people of faith, those who ruin their own selves.
These are like merchants who made no profit and suffered loss. What is a bezirgan? Traders, merchants. In the old days they traded with camels on the Silk Road, trade. On that trade route there were highwaymen. That is, there were bandits, thieves. Sometimes they would shoot the camels and take the loads on those camels. So they... this Satan resembles those highwaymen; that Satan, that person, in his nafs, if we liken this to those highwaymen, robs a person like this, makes him go bankrupt, sends him to the hereafter naked.
So these are bankrupt merchants, merchants who have suffered loss. A world of trade: the life of this world. Trade, trade. Hodja, what trade? In the exchanges you make, is there profit and loss? There is. Your conduct toward Allah Almighty, toward His commands and prohibitions, is your profit and loss. A trade, trade. You are in a trade. You will either profit or lose. You will go either with a load of reward or with a load of sin. If I go with a load of sin, if I (?), if I make a loss. (?).
Yes.
