Allah told Adam; “Tell the names of the things to the angels”. When Adam told the names of the things to the angels, Allah said, “Did I not tell you that; I know the unknowns of the heavens and the earth, and that I also know your secrets and what you reveal?”
Tafsir
How beautifully our Lord expresses in this verse the value He has given to human beings above all other creatures by making human beings, who have been created as the equal of all creatures, superior to all His creatures.
By not teaching even the angels what He did not teach the angels, by not teaching the human beings whom He kept as His interlocutors, by His Divinity, what He taught Adam by raising him, by not teaching even the angels, He proves that human beings are the superior of the created beings. How beautifully He proves to us that He did not create a being superior to man by diminishing the angels, who were created divine and pure, next to our ancestor Adam.
When Adam (as) repeated what our Lord had taught him to the angels, Allah (swt) said to the angels, "Did I not tell you that I know the unseen of the heavens and the earth?". The meaning of this is; O angels! When the worlds did not exist in the early past, I willed that My Essence should be known. I created Muhammad (PBUH) out of my light, and out of his light I created this whole universe.
Therefore, the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, were created from the light of Muhammad. In this respect, Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) has become (vema erselnake illa rahmeten lil alemin). Our Lord's meaning when He says to the Melaike-i Kirama; (I know what you do not know) is; I created you from the light of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and I created human beings from the spirit of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a part of my Essence. In this respect, I created Adam, who will continue his generation in the realm of property, from the earth as a body. I made him the caliph of the visible world, and We, the Almighty, have a wisdom in everything We do. You do not know this, He says.
(Did I not say, "More than that, I know what you do secretly and openly?"), He designed all these worlds in a plan and project before He created them and then proceeded to create them. There is no deficiency in Allah's work. Because Allah is exempt from incomplete attributes. Since all these worlds have been programmed by Him within a plan and project, everything hidden and manifest is clear to Him. Therefore, nothing can remain hidden from Him.
Whenever there is an event or a movement in every particle of the universe, He is aware of it. Because it is within his knowledge.
What is said in the video
It gets more beautiful when it's opened up like this.
O Adam, tell the angels the names of the things, He said.
When Adam told them their names, did I not tell you: the unseen of the heavens and the earths, I (?) know, and beyond that I also know what you do secretly and openly — had I not said so, He says. To whom? By saying it to the angels He is addressing us. I know the unseen of the heavens and the earth. Yes.
What are we saying here now? Man, whom He created as the noblest of creatures, He made superior to all His creations, and the value He gave mankind above them, in this verse our Lord describes so beautifully. Yes. How beautifully He describes it. The value, the value He gave man. If the angels are (?) pure, if no being more obedient to Allah than them had been created until mankind was created —
the value Allah Almighty gave mankind too, this verse expresses for us so beautifully. What does it say? His saying "O Adam, tell the angels the names of the things" is, above them, His giving value to Adam.
After creating Adam and giving him His spirit — to Adam, after giving His spirit — His saying to the angels and to Iblis "prostrate to Adam"; Iblis, with a word game there, saying "You created me from fire, him from mud; fire cleans mud, mud does not clean fire", considering himself superior — this game of logic dragged Iblis to destruction. What is the destruction here? Allah Almighty, before giving Adam life, that is, before giving His spirit, did not say "prostrate to him". Had He said it, Allah Almighty would have had them prostrate to matter other than His Self as well. What does it say? After giving My spirit — after giving him His spirit — prostrate, He said. Now, had the accursed Iblis, instead of playing a logic game here, said: this spirit is a part from the Lord; my prostrating to Adam is my prostrating to Allah — he would have got off the hook.
The angel, though knowing his Lord, when Allah Almighty said "prostrate to Adam", prostrated — this was not from their seeing Adam in the attribute of Lord, no. Seeing His part in him and prostrating to that part — prostrating to him was prostrating to Allah. Yes.
And He says: O Adam, tell the angels the names of the things, He said. The names of the things. When Adam told them their names: did I not tell you, the unseen of the heavens and the earth I know.
And beyond that I also know what you do secretly and openly — had I not said so, He says.
Man, whom He created as the noblest of creatures, He made superior to all His creations, and the value He gave mankind above them, in this verse our Lord so beautifully describes. What He did not teach even the angels — the man He took as addressee of His Self, Adam (peace be upon him), raised by the Divine Self Himself, and what He taught him He had him tell the noble angels; by this, that man is a superior being — that a being superior to man He did not create — He proves to us so beautifully, we say. How beautifully He proves it. What does He say? I programmed one, but you and your will I left free, I taught.
Are you superior, or is that one superior? Of course the one He taught, whom He took as His addressee, is more superior. That is how beautifully Allah Almighty proves this to us with His verses. But where are the people to understand this knowledge?
Yes.
When Adam (peace be upon him) repeated to the noble angels what our Lord taught — when Adam (peace be upon him) repeated to the noble angels what our Lord taught, Allah Almighty said to the noble angels: did I not tell you? I know the unseen of the earths and the heavens. He says. And the meaning He intends by this: O angels, (?), when there were no realms and I willed My Self to be known, from My will I created Muhammad (peace be upon him), and from his will, from his light I created the whole universe. I created the universe. So the heavens and the earth and what is between them were created from Muhammad's light.
Did you know these too, He says. Did you know these too? For this reason I said I will create a human on earth, He says. Yes. For this reason Muhammad (peace be upon him) became ve mâ erselnâke illâ rahmeten li'l- âlemîn. Our Lord's intent in saying to the noble angels "I know what you do not know" is, to you: from the light of Muhammad (peace be upon him) you were created. That is, you too were created from the light of Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the one who will sustain, in the realm of dominion, the lineage of mankind whose outward appearance I created — Adam — for this reason I created.
By giving him of My spirit, I made him vicegerent of the visible realm.
All talks, all verses, all support. Do you see it like this? Yes. I made him so.
(?). "We", He says. Owner of all beings. Whatever He created, from the atom to the globe, is Allah's creation. Not separated from His Self. Given life by Him. Allah Almighty says: in every work We have done there is a wisdom. In every work Allah Almighty does, there is a wisdom. You cannot know this, He decrees. Because our reason is deficient. He gave us a partial reason. When we say Allah Almighty is the universal reason — Look, he attributed qualities to Allah, he says. A person.
According to what did you attribute? Prove it to me. According to what did I attribute? Well, you proved reason for Allah Almighty. Well, blessed one, without reason could these sciences exist? Would these realms be created? So if there is no reason, by what did this happen? How did He do this?
Well, He gave you of His reason. He gave you a part of His reason. And He addresses you: will you not use your reason? Do you never think? Well, if you have no reason, how did you know Allah with this reason? How did you yourself rebel against Allah with the pride and arrogance in all of it?
So there is a reason. And He gives man reason deficiently. Why does He give it deficiently? Now, that Allah Almighty is reason, universal reason — universal — we will prove here now with this. He gave man twelve percent of it. Twelve percent of reason. Some say eighteen percent. Allah knows best, of course. Perhaps if He had given us twenty-five, thirty or thirty-five percent reason, we might have solved the secret of creation.
So by giving eight or twelve percent reason, we can only invent. We can make discoveries. Because those who invent beyond that would have offspring who would invent, and it would rise to creating, most inventors' line is cut off. Yes. They are without offspring. No — geniuses have no children.
Yes. That is why this reason is at a certain level. So universal reason is Allah Almighty. There is reason. So reason exists. So some things I will find with my reason. Yes.
Beyond this, what you do secretly and openly I also know — had I not said so? By saying this: just as in the work of Allah, who all these realms, before creating them, designed within a plan and project and then proceeded to create, there will be no deficiency, since all these realms were programmed within a plan and project by His Self, secret and open — everything is evident to Him. For this reason nothing remains hidden with Him. Because He is the one who programs. He is also the program maker. Yes. In every atom of the universe, whatever event or movement happens in whatever way, He is aware of it. Because it is within His knowledge.
We open this point up for you too. We see that our talks are within the framework of science. Today science solves this. Matter has atoms, and those atoms have nuclei. Plus and minus nuclei. Since these are plus and minus, all matter is charged. magnetic or antimagnetic matter, the nuclei of all its atoms. As these spin around their own axes they make a sound. Allah Almighty programmed this sound so that it remembers Allah. Even if you do not hear it, He says, the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the remembrance of their Lord have known. Why did they know? There is no god but Allah.
By all My creations remembering Me — I am their owner, He says. I am their owner.
Earlier on, a factory produces a product. It stamps a mark on it. If it says Lassa, Sabancı makes it. It stamps Koç on it. Koç makes it. Everyone stamps their own symbol. Allah Almighty too, on all these living and lifeless beings He created, the symbol of them all He has stamped. The Creator is Allah.
Then do you own even an atom of the world? You cannot even create an atom. So the owner of those atoms is Allah too. So this symbolizes La ilahe illallah. If there is no god but Allah, if all these beings and existents were created by Allah — that there is no god but Allah, La ilahe illallah, it symbolizes. The verses always support one another like this.
Yes. What are we saying here? In every atom of the universe, whatever event or movement happens in whatever way, He is aware of it. The plus in it, and those stirrings, all these frequencies also naturally program to Allah Almighty, the owner of all existents. It shows up in Him.
Think of a switchboard. A big switchboard; all these transmitters are connected to this switchboard. Wherever you pick up a phone, wherever a signal comes from, at the switchboard it shows. This realm is within Allah Almighty's rule; over all things He has power and is the knowledge, the Knower, of all things.
What are we saying? Because it is within His knowledge; He has programmed everything.
