Tafsir
When Adam was sent from paradise to the realm of property, the descendants of Adam, without entering paradise, were subjected to the word "descend from there" for all of you, as the spirits came from the realm of Berzah to the realm of property and left by living their covenant.
In this realm of property, which is called the realm of the unseen, I have sent Prophets, Messengers and Books introducing Myself to you as a guidance from Me. By believing in the Prophets and Books I have sent, you will attain salvation and felicity.
Whoever believes in them and recognizes the truth, there is no fear for them. Because such people are those who have realized and believed that they have been created by a Lord in the realm of the unseen.
In fact, in the address (Elestu bi Rabbikum), people who have recognized their Lord, who have believed in Allah (swt) as Lord, who have written their destiny as obedient to Allah (swt), who have made their covenant in this way, and who complete their lives in this world by living in a state of being a servant to their Lord by obeying His commands and prohibitions as intended by Allah (swt), are the ones who will be saved. There will be no fear for them on the Day of Reckoning.
Allah (swt) says, referring to such people, "There is no fear for them and they will not grieve". Why will these people not grieve? On that day Allah will give the right of intercession to such people, so that they will not be in misery.
Whoever makes a good covenant with Allah (swt), recognizes Allah (swt), worships and serves Him, and becomes the kind of servant that Allah (swt) wants, our Lord, the Judge of Judges, will surely reward such people for their worship, and on that day, He will welcome them with a smiling face in the shade of the Throne of Throne. They will reach the paradise promised by our Lord without any hardship.
What is said in the video
Go down from Paradise, all of you, We said to them. What did we say in the previous lesson?
When Allah Almighty made a covenant with our souls, knowing that they were rebellious, He distinguished the people of Paradise from the people of Hell. He marked them. With what? all (?), classes, He says. Ve ashâbü'l-meymeneti mâ ashâbü'l-meymeneh – those on the right. Ve ashâbü'l-meş'emeti mâ ashâbü'l-meş'emeh – those on the left. Ve's-sâbikûne's-sâbikûn ülâike'l-mukarrabûn fî cennâti – a third group, the group of the foremost. So these groups – in Hell, um, in Paradise – since it is forbidden to polytheists, unbelievers, non-Muslims, what does He say now? We said to them: Go down from Paradise, all of you.
"All of you" (?). Those coming from the loins of our father Adam. All of those who will emerge from his descendants, He says. All of them. Go down to the world now. Yes. When guidance comes to you from Me – what is this guidance? Messengers, prophets, nabis, scholars, books. When guidance comes to you from Me. Because in this realm we are in an unseen world. We make do only with what we have learned, as much as we know. So in this unseen world, a guidance for you, that is, leaders who will shine a light before you, bring you peace, solve your difficulties – until I send those who will solve them, He says.
Until I send. When it comes, when guidance comes, know that for those who follow and hold to this guidance of Mine there is never any fear. So if you follow them, you have no fear at all. Because these are My command, He says. They make My command known to you. What is it? They make Allah's command known.
Now here it comes to my mind, here to my mind, here, sir, the reply to someone who sent me a message earlier comes to mind. "Hodja," he says, "everyone says my way is right," he says. "My way is right," he says. "You too say my way is right. I have been listening to you for a week," he says. "And you explain very nicely. I will keep listening," he says. "So how do I know you are not like the other charlatans, Hodja? Can you prove it to me?" he says.
Now here I don't hold it against this person. Why don't I hold it against him? To be able to call a person a charlatan, to be able to call him a charlatan, he must know that person.
If what I explain pleases him very much, if I do not go beyond the verses and don't speak from my own mind, don't speak from my own mind, and what I explain supports the verses, then calling this person a charlatan is very absurd. Then, calling a person a charlatan without knowing him shows that that person is very ignorant and without knowledge, or that, in carnal feelings, he is saying to the person in front of him insulting words. But those who say these things are those who live these things in their own person. Because the believer is his mirror. Yes. One, he does not know me. I am a sayyid.
Sayyid. Descended from Hazrat Husayn.
Our lineage goes back to Imam Jafar al-Sadiq.
I'm not saying that – by calling such a lineage a charlatan you are committing a sin. If you say it to those of that lineage who deserve it, you are right. To those of that lineage who deserve it. But saying this to such a person, sir, to a person you don't know, haven't met, in this way – that person, that person's baseness, ignorance, from the states of his nafs, or with certain carnal feelings – this is an insult to the person. He could have spoken more politely. "You say you are the qutb of the age. Can you prove this, Hodja?" he could have said. Isn't it so? Sir, in this case we said we don't hold it against him.
Because of his ignorance, and even from the words of his own level, we tolerate him.
According to this verse – it just came to our mind, so we're saying it. What does the verse say? Now listen well. We said to them: Go down from Paradise, all of you. When guidance comes to you from Me – remember, when guidance comes to you from Me – know that for those who follow and hold to this guidance of Mine there is never any fear. So am I telling you to come to my way? Never, God forbid. I am saying come to Allah's way. To Allah's way. What is Allah's way? It is the Holy Quran and Allah's verses. Do I tell you anything from my own mind outside the verses? Can you prove that to me?
That's one. According to the hadith in which he says "Scholars are my heirs", if this scholar explains Allah's verses, can you say to this scholar, "You too are a charlatan"? To be able to say this, a person's mouth gets twisted. A person's mouth gets twisted.
That's two. Third, since Allah's verses are being explained, and you know this very well, and you like it very much, then don't you ever think? Don't you use your reason? To the person who explains Allah's verses to you, can't you speak more politely?
Yes.
This is how Satan strikes the human nafs.
Gentlemen, I never tell you my way is beautiful, God forbid.
I say Allah's way is beautiful. Allah's way. My way too is Allah's way. If I invite you to myself, you can say whatever you like to me. If I had taken people before, perhaps by now the world would have followed me.
"I don't know you," he says. So I've just appeared. Could be. I have been speaking for forty years. I have been speaking for forty years. You may have just got to know me. Or people may have just got to know me. Is it necessary to go on television and say false things? They invited me there too. They invited me there too. In the time of (?). Even before (?) came out, they called me.
"Hodja, come and explain to people," they said. And I said, I won't come. "Why won't you come, Hodja? Wouldn't you be happy?" With so much knowledge here, I wouldn't, I said. "How can you not be?" When I explain, I explain the truth. They'd shut down your television, I said. "Hodja, we'll censor it a bit," he said. Censorship. Well, I won't go near that censorship. When you censor it, you turn it into a bird with broken wings, I said. So go and find men to suit you, I said. Now do you understand? Who are the ones speaking on TRT?
By TRT I mean, who are the ones speaking on television?
People with broken wings, who have fallen for the passion of leadership. with false fatwas. Yes. We continue with the verse – when this verse came, it was a nice answer to that person. We said to them: Go down from Paradise, all of you. When guidance comes to you from Me, know that for those who follow and hold to this guidance of Mine there is never any fear, and they will not grieve either, We said. Who are these? Those bound to Allah's command – people. To whom? To the Messengers Allah sent as envoys, to the nabis, and, since after the Messengers no more prophets will come, those who follow the scholars.
To scholars. Does Allah Almighty say it for nothing: the passing of your scholars to the hereafter is like the sun going and darkness, like the coming of darkness – the verse in which He says this contains this. Until a guidance comes. So, for false beliefs and superstitions to be removed, pulled out of our religion, I explain the verses to you with a knowledge Allah Almighty gave me too. And as I explain the verses, your reason unfolds. Today you see on television the errors of people who say "I am the one".
Am I saying it wrong? You are the ones saying this. "Hodja, I see the errors of so many people," you say. Do you see? Not without error. They all say it. According to what? Because Allah's verses are in a form our reason can grasp, they show us the truth and guidance. The verses. But what is said according to reason is tested by reason; people facing those who embellish the verses by their own reason with a series of – sir – superstitions fall into crises. Some say, "Hodja, can this be so?"
Now it's up to you to compare.
Deciding about people is up to you.
Yes. When Adam (peace be upon him) was sent from Paradise to the realm of Mulk –
with those who would come from Adam's descendants too: without entering Paradise, the souls come from the realm of barzakh to the realm of Mulk, live their covenant and go – it is because of this that the word "go down from there, all of you" is addressed.
What is it? Let's open this up a bit more. Allah Almighty created us in the realm of Lahut. And, Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, We made a covenant with those who would emerge from the offspring of the children of Adam. We said: We are your Lord. We are your Lord. He made a covenant with each soul and raised us to the realm of barzakh. Then, to the soul whose time has come, without going to Paradise: go down below, all of you, that is, after you have proven in the realm of Mulk what kind of person you are, the Hour; after the Hour, again resurrection, then the reckoning at the Supreme Court; after that you will be separated into your original homeland, Paradise and Hell, He says.
So: go down from there, all of you – from where? From Paradise, to the world. Yes, were they in Paradise? No; coming to the world from the realm of barzakh without going to Paradise.
It's understood, isn't it? Let me read it once more; it will be understood better after this explanation. When Adam was sent from Paradise to the realm of Mulk. Those who will come from Adam's descendants too, without entering Paradise – what did we say just now? were created in the realm of Lahut. At the address Elestü bi-Rabbiküm, saying "I am your Lord", Allah Almighty made a covenant with them. And, without entering Paradise, because the souls come from the realm of barzakh to the realm of Mulk and live their covenant and go, all of you become subject to the word "from there". Are addressed.
We came down from the barzakh.
In this realm of Mulk, called the unseen world, as a guidance from Me to you, sending nabis, prophets and books that make My Self known – by your believing in the prophets and books I sent you will attain salvation and success.
Well, after this no book will come either, and no prophet will come either. So what will happen? As I said just now, Allah Almighty will send scholars. Scholars. Until the Day of Judgement Allah Almighty will raise scholars. These are not prophets. These are the heirs of the Prophet (peace be upon him). These are people who have spiritually, personally reached the state of ilme'l-yakîn, kneaded with the knowledge of Allah Almighty. They are unlettered; they will be raised. They will be raised in the school of Uwais al-Qarani. It will continue until the Day of Judgement.
Here's a hadith for you: "The saint of my community is like a prophet of the Children of Israel," he says. But the poor things don't understand its meaning either. "These are fabricated," they say. Fabricated. Well, if it's fabricated – when he says "like a prophet of the Children of Israel", he doesn't say he is a prophet; servants of the Prophet (peace be upon him) of that calibre will appear and explain these verses to people, spiritually shine a light before them – not those with a diploma who come out of school saying "I am the Prophet's heir"; these are not them.
Because these are people who, for a diploma, have acquired some information. People unaware of their own nafs.
But when he says "the saint of my community is like the prophet", these have reformed the nafs. They have risen to tranquillity. From there they entered the state of ilme'l-yakîn. By the inspiration of Allah Almighty, in response to certain verses, by unveiling or by inspiration, they have received their Lord's word and been raised – such people.
They will speak of Allah. They will explain the verses. Well, now I ask you. I also ask the person who said that word. Do you see in me any word set against these verses? Do you see in me a word contrary to telling of Allah?
Then my words prove what I myself am. Rumi says the same. "Tell me a word, and I'll tell you where you are." If you cannot grasp those meanings of that word, look for the problem in yourself.
Yes. So these people, He says – since no prophet will come again, scholars will come – to the verses about Allah Almighty that such scholars explain, if you lend an ear and hold fast to them, you will find relief, He says. You will never have fear. Why? "O Allah, this saintly servant of Yours, or this scholar servant You raised – on this path of guidance he explained to me, I have set out on the way of earning Your mercy. Help me. I accepted this duty, or what he says seems very good to my reason. You created reason as knowing the verses, and truly, with a reason that distinguishes crooked from straight, with reason I saw that Your path is the path of guidance.
I believed that this person speaks of You, and I had faith. I believed in You, O Allah," he says. Once he holds fast to him – once I have done what he says – you have no fear, He says.
Who is that person? The scholars Allah raised. Because from now on no prophet will come to you. And since no book will come, the Quran it is, until the Day of Judgement. This is Allah's book. From that book, from Allah's book, those scholars will explain to you.
It's well understood now, isn't it? When it is opened up, it becomes very beautiful. Yes.
Because in the unseen, in the realm of Mulk, that by a Lord he was created, he has grasped, believed in Him and had faith. In fact, at the address Elestü bi-Rabbiküm? At the address. In the first barzakh, (?), with his partial will in his own hands, he came to know his Lord, believed in Allah Almighty as Lord, had his destiny written as obedient to Allah Almighty – the person who gave his covenant this way and in the world too lives his life as Allah Almighty wishes, heeding His commands and prohibitions, living as a servant to his Lord – those who complete their lifetime so are those who attain salvation.
On that Day of Reckoning they will never have fear. So who would recognise, who would hold fast to those scholar servants of Allah? If your covenant, at that address Elestü bi-Rabbiküm, you gave as obedient to Allah Almighty, that is, gave as obedient, wherever you hear the word of truth you at once take it. Because you have given Allah Almighty a good covenant, you distinguish truth and falsehood very well. When Allah's verses are recited, you understand at once that it is the word of truth, and you follow it. If you are a servant rebellious against Allah – "My beloved, you cannot make the deaf and the dead hear," He says. Or if you gave your covenant in weakness of faith, you live your life constantly in doubt.
If you heard the word of truth, fell into doubt in the face of this word of truth and began to experience many temptations within yourself, these are events pointing to the weakness of your faith; watch yourself. Why watch yourself? Because Allah created reason as knowing the truth. If He had not created it as knowing the truth, human reason would not say (?) to the good and the right. Impossible. So since Allah Almighty's word is always right, for every verse explained rightly, man affirms the truth.
Some words explained outside of this plunge people into crises.
We do not explain any word we do not know.
Nor do we take on its responsibility. Yes, we continue.
Allah Almighty, referring to such people, that is, there is never fear for those people. those who follow have no fear. Referring to such people: there is no fear for them, and they will not grieve, He says. Nor grieve. Why? These people will not grieve. Allah Almighty – eleysallâhu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn – that is, the Judge of judges. Allah is the Judge of judges. There is never injustice in Him.
In His sight His creatures are subject to equal treatment. Because Allah does not discriminate among His servants. There is a verse. Allah does not discriminate among His servants. That is, this one is good, this one is bad, among them I'll love this one, I'll love that one – no. Everyone is responsible before Allah Almighty for what he does. That's why, when He says He doesn't discriminate, to the one who denies Him He doesn't say "You denied Me, I won't give you your sustenance." So that you can prove what kind of person you are, He lays every possibility before you. Nor, because "this one is obedient to Me", does He say "here, take this much wealth" – sir.
In proportion to each person's own will, wish and will, so that they can prove themselves to themselves in the best way, the sustenance in their destinies He gives them (?). That's why He does not discriminate among His servants. Everyone is equal in Allah's sight in this world. Everyone. Why are they equal? My mercy in the universe is for everyone. No discrimination. Everyone will prove himself. But in the hereafter there is. Only the believer. The hereafter is different. In the world, Allah does not discriminate among His servants. Yes.
In this case, in His sight His creatures are subject to equal treatment. Whoever gives Allah Almighty a good covenant, knows Allah Almighty, worships Him, serves Him – our Lord, the Judge of judges, for the worship these people have done, when they reach the state of being a servant as Allah Almighty wishes, of course Allah Almighty in return will (?) him, and on that day such people will be hosted in the shade of the Throne, welcomed with smiling faces; without any hardship they will attain the Paradise your Lord promised.
We pass over this briefly here.
Why will these people not grieve?
Here we pass with a word explained to the general public. These are Allah Almighty's righteous servants. Allah Almighty will give them the right of intercession. He will give a saintly servant the right to intercede for seven up to seventy people. In Surah Ad-Duha He says: your Lord will give you, and you will be pleased. Saying it only to the Prophet (peace be upon him), He promises the same thing to his community too, who are heirs. Because they are heirs. So if these people will intercede for seven up to seventy people – their mother, father, maternal uncle, paternal aunt, paternal uncle, maternal aunt, close friend, someone they love, has departed as a Muslim but will go to Hell with his sin to suffer punishment.
Departed as a Muslim, though.
He grieves that he will go in there. Allah Almighty will say to him: O such-and-such servant of Mine, take your loved ones. However many He grants him – "take this many people and go," He will say. So, gentlemen, a Muslim won't easily enter Paradise either. Not easily.
This is Allah Almighty's great mercy. From every family line a saint emerges. And those saints gather these up. So don't compromise on Islam. Submit to the fact that you have such a Lord. Do not step outside His command, so that you may be worthy of that love.
