At one time, Moses requested water for his people, and We told him to strike the stone with his staff. Upon this, twelve springs gushed out from the stone. All tribes knew which source to get water from. “Eat and drink from the provisions given to you by Allah; do not commit mischief on earth by committing evil deeds.
Tafsir
Allah (swt), in His miracles, caused a drought to strike the people of Moses. Hazrat Musa prayed to his Lord for rain. Then our Lord says to Moses, 'O Moses, strike the staff in your hand against the stone. Hazrat Musa strikes the staff in his hand on the stone. Thereupon, water springs from the stone to twelve eyes. Each of the tribes of the twelve tribes of the tribe of Israel recognized the waterhole and made use of it.
Although Allah (swt) said to the people of Israel, "Eat and drink of Allah's provision for you, and do not do evil in the land, and do not make mischief in it," Allah (swt) knows that they will make mischief in the land because of the covenant they made with our Lord, so He is constantly warning them.
As we have explained in the previous Verses, the covenanting of the souls created in the realm of Lahut according to the Verse of Elestu bi Rabbikum, their being lifted from there to the realm of Berzah, and the arrival of each soul in turn to the world realm, which we call the realm of the unseen, is the locking of the covenants given in the hereafter realm within a program, and the fact that people are unaware of the hereafter realm when they come to the world realm.
According to the verse in which Allah (swt) says, "We do not hold anyone responsible for that which We do not make known", our Lord is constantly telling people what they should do, as these people who appear to be human beings, who take on flesh and bones, do not know about the Hereafter while they are living in the worldly realm.
In order that no human being should ever say to Allah (swt), "I would have been a servant to you if you had enlightened my path and warned me," He shows people all the ways they can think of, He creates events, He warns people with all kinds of miracles, He makes people witness against their own souls by leaving them alone with their desires and wishes within their own will.
In this respect, Allah (swt) constantly warns us that no one has the right to oppress any of His creatures, that no one should usurp people's rights by wreaking havoc on the earth, that no one should oppress the souls He created, and that by oppressing them, one would be oppressing oneself.
Allah saves the people of Israel from thirst. By granting them water from twelve eyes, the twelve tribes of the people of Israel, each tribe knows from which eye to draw water.
These occasions are for Allah (swt) to show His miracles under His power, to leave an example and a remembrance for the generations to come. Allah (swt) also declares that there is no other God but Allah (swt) through His miracles.
Allah (swt) creates miracles with each of His verses and introduces people to Allah (swt). But people rebel against Allah by deifying their nafs, even though they know that Allah is Allah, because they are subject to the arrogance and pride of their nafs.
What is said in the video
And once, for his people, Moses had asked for water; there was no water in the desert, he had asked for water. And We had said: strike the rock with your staff; thereupon from that rock twelve springs gushed forth. Each tribe knew the spring it would draw water from. These are twelve tribes. 12 tribes, each one descending from one son. Their (?) at their heads is also given to them.
Eat and drink from Allah's provision for you, but do not spread corruption on earth by doing evil, He says. Because He knows that they are a source of strife on earth, Allah tells them this. By way of showing His miracles, Allah Almighty lets a drought befall the people of Moses. A drought. This too is one of the calamities. He gives them a drought. Moses prays to his Lord for rain. Thereupon our Lord says to Moses, (?) Moses, strike the rock with the staff in your hand. Couldn't Allah Almighty bring it forth without striking the rock? To prove to them that he is a prophet, that he shows a miracle to you, to his people, and that this happens only by Allah's power, He has him do it.
He says: Moses, strike the rock with the staff in your hand. Moses strikes the rock with the staff in his hand. Thereupon twelve springs of water gush from the rock. Twelve springs. Of the Children of Israel, who were 12 tribes, each tribe recognizes the spring it will draw from, and they benefit from those waters.
Addressing the Children of Israel, Allah Almighty says: eat and drink from Allah's provision for you, and do not spread corruption on earth by doing evil. Since Allah Almighty knows, from the covenant they gave our Lord, that they will drown the earth in corruption, He warns them constantly; as we explained in the earlier verses too, the souls created in the realm of lahut, according to the verse Elestü bi Rabbiküm, made their covenant, were lifted from there to the realm of barzakh, and as each soul whose turn comes arrives in the world, which we call the unseen realm, the covenants given in the hereafter realm were locked within a program.
Where were they locked? When one comes into the world, this program is locked with respect to the hereafter realm. That is, it closes. Just as you cannot enter a computer program without giving the password.
What is its password? Reforming the nafs. If in this world you reform your nafs, starting from the nafs al-ammara, then the nafs al-lawwama, the nafs al-mulhima, manifestations in the nafs al-mutmainna, in the nafs al-radiya at the door of ilm al-yaqin, and from the nafs al-mardiyya you enter through the door of ayn al-yaqin, then in the nafs al-safiya you come to know the secrets. You come to know the secret of the secrets.
This is what they call a going back, a huruj, that is, an exit. The human soul gaining strength while still in this world. Yes.
So, man being created in the realm of lahut, before being lifted to the realm of barzakh, first being granted the address Elestü bi Rabbiküm, and all of them the covenant a person gave to Allah Almighty being written for him as his destiny, then being lifted to barzakh, and since Allah Almighty knows what a person will do when he comes to the world, from the destiny He gave them, constantly what does He tell them? Do not drown the earth in corruption. Do not do evil — He keeps warning them.
According to the verse in which Allah Almighty says, We hold no one responsible for what We have not made known, since these people, clothed in flesh and bone and appearing as humans, have no knowledge of the hereafter realm, our Lord constantly tells people what they should do. So that no person may say to Allah Almighty, had You made me like this, I would have been Your servant, He creates every kind of event that may come to a person's mind, shows every kind of miracle, so that man, within his own will, by his own wish and desire, bears witness to his Lord. That is, He sent us to an unseen realm.
To this world. A realm where Allah Almighty is not seen. Even though all the covenants there are in our memory, in our memory, that is, in a program, on earth that program is locked. A password is needed to see those places. That password, as I said a moment ago, is reforming the nafs, the soul's going back out, the soul's return — to where? To malakut, to jabarut. Let me tell you, meeting with Allah Almighty, then even further, coming to know our Lord's secret, as far as He permits His creatures. What has Allah Almighty done with this? He has hidden it in us. The state of our souls in barzakh, in the realm of lahut, the time when Allah Almighty said, I am your Lord, and our covenant with our Lord — all of these.
They exist in us. No human can deny this. Every single person is a witness to it. A witness from where? Is there a verse? Of course there is. What does it say? They said yes, it says. Yes. Yes.
You are our Lord. That is, their minds bear witness against those people. However much their nafs denied it, what do their minds say? Yes. Allah exists, they say. Allah exists. If you deny the Allah before you and wait for the Lord in your imagination, that kind of a character is given to you. And when you come to the world, you carry on your conduct and actions within the same characters. In answer to your wishes and desires, Allah Almighty creates causes for you. And by working those causes, you prove what kind of person you are.
Yes. So, since Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes, so that these Children of Israel would not say, You sent me to the world; had You done this to me, I would have done that, Allah Almighty makes every kind of event appear for them. What does He say in a verse? Allah never refrains from giving the example of a mosquito or anything greater. So upon His servants, in a way they will understand, every kind of miracle He makes appear. Every kind of miracle. If they don't understand from one, let it be explained through another. If not from that one, let them understand from another — He keeps turning it around like this.
But man, from using his mind and from reflecting, stays far away. Instead of using his mind, man prefers to follow his nafs. And instead of reflecting, of thinking, he makes it his motto to follow the footsteps of Satan right away. In this case that person, not with mind and reflection, but acting by his nafs, fallen into Satan's trap, his faith weakened, or a non-Muslim deprived of the light of Islam, binding his own carnal desires to this worldly life, taking life to be this world, doubtful about the hereafter realm, not believing that Allah exists, and not believing that the hereafter exists, or whether there will be a resurrection in it — people living like that. That is why, with its sides that appeal to the nafs, they follow the nafs and Satan, to bind them to their own nafs and to the world, shows these things gilded, and being bound up with it pleases these people.
In this case these people, both through the nafs and through the world, and also with Satan's temptation, oppose Allah's commands and in this way spend their life in a swamp. In the end they journey to a realm of no return. There is no coming back again. Now they ask a man, they say, why do you pray? I mean, who says Allah exists?
He says, what do I lose by praying? I lose nothing. On the contrary, I'm even getting exercise. Suppose, he says, Allah doesn't exist. I go down and up, I'm exercising, he says. But when we go to the hereafter, if Allah does exist, what will you do for not praying, he says. What does this mean? Those whose faith is weak, who do not believe in being raised again in the hereafter, or who are in doubt — to them I have a piece of advice. To those whose faith is weak, or who say, will we really be raised again in the hereafter, does Allah really exist — act as if Allah exists and do what Allah says; if Allah exists, you will save your skin in that realm.
If Allah doesn't exist, then along with a test, with that fasting you will gain your health, you'll do your exercise, it will still benefit you, your body, you won't live sluggishly, you won't lead a life like the obese, and finally, healthy, if there is no hereafter realm after all, you will live this world in the best way and go.
But my advice: Allah proves His existence in every way. If you set out to prove to me that Allah does not exist with the greatest evidence, and write it down, I will be glad. Write it. And with the verses saying that the truth has come and falsehood has vanished, I will prove Allah's existence to you scientifically.
Scientifically.
So first turn to yourself. You yourself are equipped with a knowledge. Your eyes are a camera that captures instantly. And hands it over. There are Polaroid cameras. Even that takes some time. Your ears are a radio set. You don't hear every sound.
And your heart works like the spring of a clock. Your brain is a memory. These do not come together by chance. And every person of reason proves that they have a creator. So be wise. Listen to what Allah says. Don't look at people's superstitions. Instead of listening to people, read and listen to Allah's verses. People have strayed far from the verses. Each person has stretched the verses by his own mind and set out to give fatwas by his own mind. They are like a bird flying on one wing. If they feared Allah, they would not set out to react in matters they do not know. So be wise, use your minds.
Instead of following people, follow Allah's verses. People cannot save you. The only one who will save you is your Lord who created you, Allah. Everything other than Him is empty. How well he says it. Hasbünallâhu ve ni'mel vekîl, ni'mel mevlâ ve ni'men nasîr. What an excellent guardian He is. What an excellent master and what an excellent support. Yes.
And one of the — one of the saints, what does he say? Everyone has someone. I have no one at all. O (?). You be my someone, he says. That is, everyone has a relative. A mother, a father, an uncle, an aunt, an aunt. Everyone takes refuge in one another. I, he says, have no mother, no father, no brother, no aunt, no uncle, no aunt, nothing at all, he says. In the world I always took refuge in You; You be my owner, he says. Oh. How beautifully he says it.
Yes. Rely on Allah, trust in Allah, and never step outside Allah's verses, and by saying this one is my beloved, this one is like this or like that, do not compromise on Allah's verses.
