Al-Baqarah 74: After this, your hearts are hardened again; your hearts are like stones or even harder. This is because, there are stones from which rivers burst forth. There are also stones which split and through which waters spurt, and some stones roll down from fear of Allah. Allah is not unaware of what you are doing.

To verse 74 we are coming. After this event your hearts hardened again. Of course, the hearts hardened again. Despite seeing so many events — as we said a moment ago, faith had not yet settled in their hearts. Just as the Bedouins come to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and say: we too have believed. Say to them, He says: you have not yet believed. That is, faith has not yet settled in your hearts, He says.

The meaning is deep. You have not yet believed. Had He said to the Bedouins: you have not believed. Faith does not settle in your hearts. Had He said "has not settled", no Bedouin could have become a Muslim. But what does He say? Not yet, look. Not yet. So they will. Tremendous words, the word of Allah. Completely flawless. You can find no interpretation for it at all, sir, that is. But if you interpret it, if you interpret the verses according to your own mind, you will only find your kufr, just as Satan found his kufr. May Allah protect us.

After this event your hearts hardened again. Your hearts are like stones, or harder than that. Like stones, or harder than that. What does Allah Almighty say? In the verse He says there are some stones from whose midst water flows, from within them water flows. Soft, that is. These are even worse than those. And indeed, if their hearts had not been hard like stones, they would not have shot those little children, those in Palestine. And if their hearts were not so hard, there would be no (?) of the earth.

If their hearts were not so hard, Allah who created them would not have cursed them.

Their hearts are hard.

Sir, people.

For there are stones within which rivers well up and overflow. There are some that split, and from (?) water gushes out. How beautifully He says it. This is what I said a moment ago, (?). And some of the stones roll down from above out of fear of Allah. You see some stones, don't you, rolling down from the mountains, cracking, bursting, rolling. Like the rocks of Mecca. Those are something else. Of course, that (?). To make the stones of the House of Allah, from their flowing (?). Well, Hodja, how do stones flow down from there, from those mountains? How do they burst and crack? How is there fear of Allah here?

Is there a soul in it, is there life in it? he says. He asks. How does this flow down? It falls. Well, we said earlier: the heavens and the earth, what is between the two has known its Lord's remembrance. So all these substances, magnetic or anti-magnetic substances, their atoms, the nuclei inside the atoms remember Allah. Even though we do not hear it, Allah Almighty makes them remember His being, a certain one of His Beautiful Names. Why does He make them remember, Hodja? Because it is to prove that there is no god but Allah. Just as factories produce a product and stamp their own emblem on it, Allah Almighty has, on every atom of this universe, of these worlds encircled by the Throne of Allah, set His stamp.

And by remembering Allah they prove "la ilahe illallah", that there is no god but Allah. So, even if we do not hear it, through this remembrance of theirs, over time it comes about that they shift from their places. From their places. Their vibrations, the atoms, in that state of remembrance, about their own axes, and those neutrons and protons, plus and minus nuclei, within those frequencies, through their movements, remember their Lord, and because of that it cracks. It rolls down the mountain.

So it rolls like that out of fear of Allah too.

Yes.

Allah is not unaware of what you do, He says. Why is He not unaware? Whatever Allah Almighty has created, from the globe to the atom, He has programmed them, and within those programmes He has not created a single atom outside His rule. Outside His rule. What does "outside His rule" mean?

I made this; it is within my rule, beside me. Before my eyes; look, on the table, I made this, beside me. I made these, beside me. Where are they all? What I created, that is, all I made, is on this table. All of it is before me. None of it is outside my rule. They all stay here at whatever moment I want, however I want, however I command. So Allah, in this universe, all He created in this universe is before Him, within His rule. He created nothing outside His rule. That is why He is Al-Basir, He sees, and that is why He is As-Sami, He hears. Yes.

He created the universe entirely with knowledge. Hodja, the mind cannot grasp this. What can the mind not grasp?

I am asking myself now. You may ask me like this too. Hodja, the mind cannot grasp this. All right, this is the place your eye can see. A place your eye sees.

It has mountains. This realm has layers. This realm has seven layers. This realm is encircled by the Throne of Allah. Hodja, how are these seen?

Now, there are radars. Radars, when they turn right and left, up and down, pick up all objects, some objects. Let me see, metal objects. Can Allah Almighty not perceive all beings with His sight in the same way? Apart from that, here in front of me I have a computer. In this computer all the oceans, worlds, states, all of them are here. What is inside this computer, layer upon layer — bring them up, bring up the world, bring up the heavens, we see them. Stars and whatnot flow along through it like this. They have made a, they have made a program; they flow along without touching each other at all.

They take on colourful shapes of every kind. If you made these layer upon layer, all inside it, would they not all be before Allah Almighty like this computer's screen? If we too are inside it, like this computer's screen, this "the Throne of Allah encircles" He speaks of — that is, these people who remain within the bounds of this computer, can they do Allah any harm? Can they get outside it? Allah has encompassed the universe with His knowledge. But do not go deep. Do not go deep. And do not tire your heads too much. The Prophet says: lie down, get up, pray — lie down, get up, say the declaration of faith, be of the old woman's religion, and go on, he says.

Yes. So we say it somewhat in the Sufi way, in depth, in depth; so, well, if you like it, listen. This too shows us Allah's sublimity, of course. Every word we say, through our Lord's miracles, His greatness and His divinity — Allah Almighty proves them to us. Yes. Despite seeing so many miracles, the people of Israel, with doubt and hypocrisy in their hearts, by returning to their own covenant and nature, wronged their own selves. No one can do wrong to Allah, and the wrongdoing of people does not reach Allah. Every wrongdoer wrongs his own self.

That is why these do not keep their word. They recognise nothing but their own interests. They are greedy and selfish towards the world. They love their lives very much. And they do not want to die. That is why their hearts are like stones, or even harder. What fine traits of theirs we are writing here. What does Allah Almighty say in one of His verses? They wish: let my life be a thousand years, so that I may live a thousand years more. Let me live a thousand years more, they say, He says.

Allah Almighty gives a fine example. There are stones; within them rivers well up and overflow. Waters and rivers. Allah Almighty's attribute of mercy — by way of likeness, that He softens stones and rocks; that with the might of knowledge, even the hardest rock bows to the knowledge of the Most Merciful, and surges with His mercy — it shows this. (?) Let us understand it well.

In His verse, Allah Almighty gives a fine example, we say.

There are stones from within which rivers well up and overflow. Now, waters and rivers make known Allah Almighty's attribute of mercy, make a likeness of it — Allah Almighty's attribute of mercy. Yes.

That He softens stones and rocks; that His mercy, Allah's mercy, (?) even stones and rocks from their place, and their falling out of that fear of Allah; and according to the verse "Allah Almighty does not will injustice to the worlds", according to the verse "His mercy has surpassed His wrath", sir, that He softens; that with the might of knowledge, even the hardest rock bows to the knowledge of the Most Merciful and surges with His mercy — He makes this known to us. There are some, He says, from within which waters gush out. With this likeness, according to the verse that all beings, living and lifeless, have known their Lord's remembrance, it shows that, in proportion to Allah Almighty's will, He created beings and they bow to our Lord's will.

That they bow. But also, with the likeness that some of the stones roll down out of fear of Allah, we will come, we give these as very fine likenesses to the Jew. Since there is no life, soul or mind in these stones, what is meant is that these stones' and rocks' atoms contain neutrons and protons, plus and minus electrode-charged nuclei, which, by turning about their own axes, remember our Lord. We explained it a moment ago; here we explain it a little more; a moment ago we explained it in detail, that. So, these beings that seem motionless are in fact always in motion; according to this verse, which says all beings have known their Lord's remembrance, whichever of His attributes He makes the stones or rocks remember, these stones, by remembering our Lord's attribute — even if we do not see it, even if we do not feel it — through the vibrating rotations of plus and minus charged nuclei about one another's axes, by remembering their Lord, in time a cracking occurs in the stones too, so that the rocks break away from one another and roll down from the high wave, from the high mountains, we say.

Even though rocks expand and contract under the effect of heat and cold, and the rocks' breaking away from one another has come about in this way, Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes. Even though this has been proven this way by positive science, according to the verse Allah Almighty has made known to us, with His word that all beings have known their Lord's, the vibrating rotation of the plus and minus charged nuclei in the atoms themselves about one another, in time, brings about the rocks' breaking away from one another. For when Allah Almighty addresses both the outward and the inward, in outward science heat and cold have an effect, in the state of creating from nothing, according to created beings' remembrance of their Lord, through the nuclei in the atoms rotating about one another's axes, the rocks' breaking away from one another comes about; so in this case our Lord, out of fear of Allah, by making known to us that they roll, has also informed us of the state of creation at its root.

it is. Everything has been created within a knowledge. Though positive science says rocks crack through contraction and expansion from heat and cold, Allah Almighty, with both outward and inward knowledge, proves to us how these things are.

So, with these examples, while Allah Almighty's creatures obey Him unconditionally and without reservation, why does Allah Almighty give so many examples? Created free with its own will, and among the worlds as the noblest of creatures, created by its Lord, carrying a portion of our own Lord, and of our Lord a mirror — these people, people; and among these people this nation, this nation, of all created things, living and lifeless, the most cruel, the most unjust.

It is not I who say it; Allah says it here. This is how we open it up here. The most unjust. What is this? So with so many examples, while Allah Almighty's creatures obey Him unconditionally and without reservation, His making man His addressee, (?) left in his own hands, and giving him the blessing of reason; proving His existence to mankind with every kind of miracle, overwhelming him with so many blessings, and placing the beings He created at man's command — despite all this, man is very ungrateful and disobedient towards his Lord. So, despite showing the Children of Israel so many miracles too, that this people, with such behaviour, in His sight is more uncomprehending than these lifeless beings He created, more uncomprehending than those beings, and a people even lower than them who heed no word — with the examples above, He makes this so beautifully clear to people, we say.

Allah Almighty is not unaware, not, of what you do, He declares in the verse. Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes. No one can (?) a deficiency to Allah. No one. If a person looks for deficiency in Allah, he is looking for deficiency in himself. In his own fault, too, he looks for deficiency. Indeed, he looks for deficiency in his own sense of inferiority. If only it were so, if only he could look. Yes.

Neither drowsiness overtakes Him, nor sleep. Allah Almighty has said: in Him there is neither drowsiness nor sleep; that is for us. Because we were created deficient. Since in the hereafter no time will pass idly, what does this mean? There is no sleep there either. We will say: we were doing something in the world, but what were we doing? No sleep. Because if the soul had sleep — we have a portion of it. Sir, there the soul too; this sleep is for this body. There would be sleep there too, there would be drowsiness. We will be stripped of the body. Since the nafs and the life are one, there is no more sleep there.

There is no defecation there either. Defecation: what we eat will leave with a sweat. Yes, all created things find life through Allah Almighty. What is it? Allah Almighty has the attribute Al-Hayy. Though He is living, the attribute of the Living, that is, the attribute Al-Hayy, both living and giving life to the worlds He created, while He Himself is free of, is clear of, His creatures. So in this case, Allah Almighty's creatures subsist with time and place, while Allah Almighty is outside time and place, in a place that is no place. Yes. Time and place cannot contain Him.

There are many examples. Let me not confuse your minds. A moment ago I gave the computer example. We say it like that, this way. You know, the worlds, this computer's (?) we put in front of us. Well, would I fit into this computer like this? I would not. But look, I see my own existence in the computer. And I can send it wherever I want, however I want. Think of the living version of this.

Yes. Allah, with knowledge that does not even occur to our minds, is an ocean possessing that power of creation. An ocean of secrets, an ocean of knowledge. Yes.

So Allah Almighty is aware of all events that take place in the universe. That is why He is aware of the deeds done, of hearts, of what passes, of the stirring of the atom within the universe, and of their states too.
