Translation

We said to the sons of Israel, “Do not worship anyone other than Allah, treat with goodness your parents, relatives, orphans, and the poor, and say good things to people. Establish the prayer and give obligatory alms.” After that, with the exception of a few, you turned away and turned your backs.

Tafsir

Allah (swt) sent the following verses to the Children of Israel in the Torah: "Worship none but Allah, do good to parents, relatives, orphans and the poor, and speak kindly to people. They did not listen to these commands of Allah, except for a few of them. Which of Allah's commands did they listen to, that they should listen to this one also? Those people who openly defy Allah, who say that Allah sent the book they wrote with their own hands without fearing Allah, who judge according to their own minds and say that the fire of hell will not touch me except for a few numbered days, who openly violate Allah's commands, will surely turn away and go away.

(And yet you continue to turn away from what I have said) with the verse in which he says, "After the Torah came the Psalms, the Gospel and the Qur'an, and we have gathered this book in the Qur'an, and the command of my God is mercy to the worlds. While you should have obeyed this, you did not obey it either. You used to spread among the people that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would come, which is written in your book, but when we sent him from an Arab tribe, you changed your mouth and hid his characteristics. Although you knew about the Prophet of the End Times, you were jealous and did not follow him. You still haven't listened to my order.

The attribute of Allah (swt), Essabir, completes our Lord's degradation from incomplete attributes. At the same time, the attribute of Essabir is one of the attributes of Allah's Godhood. The attribute of Allahu ta'ala's Godhead is that Allahu ta'ala creates events with causes, and as people see these events, they cease to ask Allahu ta'ala any questions. This is one of the attributes of Allah.

In order to prevent the creatures of Allah (swt) from posing a question to Him, He has proved His existence with many examples and miracles, and again with patience, by means of miracles and His address to people within their intellectual capacities. Leaving a legacy for both the people who lived in the past and the people who will come after them, He has put all the responsibility on the people who have their willpower in their hands and made all the events come into existence. This will continue until the Day of Judgment.

O People! How can you disobey the commands of Allah (swt) and turn away from Allah (swt), even though you have no rightful side against Allah (swt), even though the minds know their Lord, and even though you know that you will die one day, according to the verse (All souls will taste death, your return is to Me)?

The Day of Judgment is such a day that when people are resurrected, when all souls call their souls their souls, when no one is able to recognize anyone else, when matter, children and good deeds do not benefit us, when we have no helpers and no companions, when what we believe in our false beliefs does not benefit us, then woe to us.

While you have the opportunity, while your life is in this body, make the most of your life and turn to Allah. He is Tawwab. He is the Most Accepting of repentance. There is no God but Him to whom we should turn, and He is compassionate and merciful to His creatures. As long as we are wise. Let us use our intellect. Our intellect introduces us to our Lord. Our nafs takes us away from Allah. If we manage not to follow our nafs, we become friends with Allah and gain His closeness. We will attain the paradise promised by Allah (swt) and the peace of eternal life. May Allah reform us all and grant us guidance.

With the ten commandments sent by Allah (swt) to Hazrat Moses, He invites them to good morals, to serve humanity, to guide, to enlighten the way. He describes good morals through the service of people to each other.

Eight of the ten commandments are in this Ayah. Both are in the eighty-fourth verse.

1- That no one other than Allah is to be worshipped,

2- To be respectful to one's parents,

3- Helping relatives,

4- Doing good to orphans,

5- Helping the poor who have no property,

6- Treating people well and speaking well to them,

7- Prayers and thanksgiving to Allah (swt),

8- Helping the poor with zakat.

He commands this people with these eight commandments in this verse.

What is said in the video

We come to verse 83, the 83rd that Allah Almighty has made known to us, verse; this one is a bit long. We, to the Children of Israel, like this made a statement. Now these verses, we marked them.

Well, Surah Al-Baqarah, on the second page we open it. Which one? (?) Verse 83.

We corrected the wrongly interpreted verses.

What does it say now? Let's go to those places knowingly too. Since we want to learn the verses, right? If we are learning the verses, let's go knowingly. In verse 83 it says exactly this. Formerly We, from the Children of Israel: you will serve only Allah. Well,

you will do good to parents, to near relatives, to orphans, to the poor, a pledge He took, they took a pledge. He took a pledge, that is, they gave their word. Like this. And speak kindly to people, perform the prayer, give zakat, We had commanded. In the end, except for a few of you, you turned away and left. So now it brings everything and ties it here to the world. 'We had taken a pledge', it says. From them, and We commanded them. Whereas: We, to the Children of Israel, made this statement. Taking a pledge is different; if He took it from him, Allah Almighty will give him those characters. He will give him those characters.

Because the partial will is in man. If He took a pledge. If He took that pledge and could not give him those characters, if they backed out, Allah is blamed. That is, He could not instill those characters in him. Those people backed out. That is, they could turn into the shape they wanted. Whereas what do we say? We made this statement to the Children of Israel. What? He states His command. Now Allah Almighty here, His command. Do not worship anyone but Allah. Do good to parents, relatives, orphans and the poor. Speak kindly to people. Yes.

Perform the prayer properly, give zakat. Then, except for very few of you. There is a red mark here again. A red mark. You turned away, and you persist in going back on what you said, it says. You persist in going back on what you said. Whereas what is written here? In 83: 'In the end, except for a few of you, you turned away and left', it says. Except for a few of you. Whereas what does it say? You turned away, and you persist in going back on what you said. Yes. What do we say? In the end, except for very few of you. 'Very few of you' is in it again. Except for very few of you. That is already the equivalent of the written verse.

We don't mark those in red. You turned away, and you persist in going back on what you said. So these will no longer turn back. Yes. The verses. In verse 84 too there is a mistake in the same way. We will tell you that again too. These.

Allah Almighty, in the Torah, to the Children of Israel, like this, sent these verses. In the Torah. We said: the Torah's ten commandments, ten commandments, eight of them are in verse 83, two of them in verse 84. You will not worship anyone but Allah. This is Allah's command. It is a command then; our Lord makes it known to them with verses. What Moses brought from that Mount Sinai when he communed with our Lord, the command: You will not worship anyone but Allah. You will do good to mother, father, relatives, orphans and the poor. You will speak to people kindly. Except for very few among them, they did not listen to these commands of Allah Almighty.

And they persist in not listening anyway. Which command of Allah Almighty did they listen to, that they would listen to this? Now what do we say? This Jewish nation, which command of Allah Almighty did it listen to, that they would listen to this? What did Allah Almighty not do for them? Let's count. Their, while they groaned under Pharaoh's oppression, while they paid the heaviest taxes, while for a wage so small that in return for their work they could not support their homes they worked in the filthiest jobs, in sewer work, Muhammad saving them from there. When he killed their sons and let their daughters live, Allah Almighty bringing them to freedom.

Saving them from Pharaoh's torment and drowning Pharaoh in that Red Sea. When He brought them into the desert of Tih, feeding them, well, with quail meat and manna. Setting a cloud over their heads to give them shade.

When He said: go to such-and-such a place, go to Palestine, enter that city there, their saying: we will not enter there. Allah and you, Messenger, that is, to Moses: Allah and you, wage war, well, take that place, then we will come to it. Not being content with the manna and quail Allah gave, and saying: tell your Lord to give us of the onions, garlic and plants the earth grows. And Moses saying: are you exchanging the blessings Allah gave for the lowest of foods? Which of His words did they carry out, that they would carry out this? Yes. Except for very few among them, they did not listen to these commands of Allah Almighty.

Which command of Allah Almighty did they listen to, that they would listen to this? Openly challenging Allah, without fearing Allah, saying of the book they wrote with their own hands that Allah sent it, judging by their own reason, saying 'the fire of Hell will not touch me except for a few numbered days', who Allah's commands openly violate, these people will of course turn away and leave.

So these are the characteristics of the Jewish nation.

And His saying 'you still continue going back on what you said' tells us that the verses will continue until the Day of Judgment and that this nation will remain within this trait until the hereafter; this is what it tells us. Yes. With the verse He mentioned: after the Torah came the Psalms, the Gospel and the Quran. We gathered these books in the Quran. My divine command is a mercy to the worlds. While you should have followed it, you did not follow it either.

You did not follow the Quran either. That which is written in your book, the coming of Muhammad (peace be upon him), among people you used to spread. You used to spread it among people. When We sent him from an Arab tribe, you changed your tune. You hid his description. Though you knew the prophet of the end times, out of envy you did not follow him either. You still do not listen to My command, it says.

In the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel, the Prophet's (peace be upon him) appearance was written. It was written in all the books too. As a father knows his child, the prophets knew the Messenger of Allah. In this case, in this case, after the Gospel, if we take the Gospel as zero in the Gregorian calendar, zero. The Prophet (peace be upon him) came in the year 400 CE. 400. No, 1400? 600. 600? 571. 571. 571, Hodja. 570? Around that time.

Jesus came at year zero CE. He came at zero. Among the Jews no, just in the world, Allah Almighty had not let 200 years go by in sending a prophet. 200 years. In this case the Jews became agitated. Is the Day of Judgment about to come? Will Allah Almighty destroy the world? Three, three years passed, nothing. Four, three years passed, no prophet. No prophet. In this case, when the prophet they had been waiting for and spreading from mouth to mouth appeared, 'my Israelite people, people', of all things, they said, a prophet from the Quraysh tribe, well, was it left to Abdullah's orphan? they said.

So they turned away from him. Well, weren't you waiting for the prophet? Well, Allah sent him to you.

If you had really used your reason, your reason, even if Allah sends an ant to lead you, I will obey it. Because my Lord surely has a wisdom in it. Surely. If He said to me, if He said to the worlds: O people! I am sending an ant to lead you. You will obey it. By Allah and by Allah, I will obey. Because this is Allah's command. Since Allah Almighty has sent as a mercy to the worlds Muhammad (peace be upon him), your master, your not obeying him is denying your own lineage.

What does it have to do with my lineage, Hodja? Were the souls of the prophets created from the soul of the Prophet (peace be upon him)? Were the souls of the peoples created in the souls of those prophets? Then he is your father's, his father's, his father's, his father's, your ancestor's ancestor. By denying him, you deny your origin. Yes. This is Allah's wisdom, His mercy: the very last; the first He created He sends last as a mercy to the worlds. With what reason, what mind are you denying this? And you still keep on not listening to Allah's command.

Yes.

What does it say? We gathered them all in the Quran.

My divine command to the worlds, my divine command is a mercy to the worlds. That is, the Holy Quran. While you should have followed it, you did not follow it either. The coming of Muhammad (peace be upon him), written in your book, you used to spread among people. When We sent him from an Arab tribe, you changed your tune and hid his description. Though you knew the prophet of the end times, out of envy you did not follow him either. You still do not listen to His command. What did we say? The verses of Allah Almighty continue until the Day of Judgment. Yes. We continue with the verses. To its translation.

Allah Almighty's attribute as-Sabur completes our Lord's being free from deficient attributes. The attribute of patience. One attribute of our Lord is as-Sabur. Why? As-Sabur: since, for every person to complete the covenant he himself gave, his destiny on earth, within a lifetime He gave him, what kind of person he is, that person is to prove himself, then however harsh he may be toward Allah Almighty, however much those people rebel, He grants those people a lifetime to prove themselves. With the attribute of patience. Yes. As for Allah Almighty's attribute of being God, all the questions that would come to people's minds: Allah Almighty, through causes, creates events, and as people see these events, from the questions they would ask Allah Almighty they are cut off.

This is Allah Almighty's attribute of being God. What is this? No one will be able to say to Allah Almighty: had You done this to me like this, I would have done it like that, he will not be able to say. Whatever wish and intention he has, He will make it manifest. And that person, without deficiency, however many attributes there are of Allah Almighty, upon him, within his own wish and desire, will make this manifest. Indeed, Allah Almighty will make even more manifest for him within his destiny. What will he say? Had You given me misfortune, had You given me poverty, had You given me wealth, had You given me illness, had You given me health, he will not be able to say.

He will repeat all of them. He will repeat all of them. This is what you are, He will say. No one will be able to question Allah. And in this case, Allah's, Allah's attribute:

all His creations in this whole universe being cut off from all questions. Before Allah Almighty, no longer leaving room for any question, bowing their heads to the ground.

So that His creations would not convey a question to His being, Allah Almighty, with various examples, and again with many miracles, and again with patience, within every kind of mental capacity of people, by addressing people, has made people prove His existence.

According to every time: in the past with the miracles of the prophets, in future times through its scholars, then, in step with the advance of technology, with the miracles of Allah's verses. What is the miracle of Allah's verses? In our time, the finding of fresh water and salt water, with a barrier between so they do not mix. Is there any force that brings two waters together and yet cannot mix them? Is there such a force? This is Allah's miracle. This is at the Strait of Gibraltar.

One side fresh, one side salty. There is a barrier between; we cannot see that barrier. What barrier? Since all matter, their atoms are loaded with positive and negative nuclei, however He has arranged them, without losing the property of water, one fresh, one salt water, by repelling each other do not mix with each other.

This is within our Lord's knowledge and power.

Are these proofs not enough for us to know Allah? Is it still not enough for people to know Allah and submit to Him?

Yes.

both to the people who lived in the past and to the people who will come after them, leaving a memory, all the responsibility He has placed on the people who have partial will in their hands, and made all events manifest. This will continue like this until the Day of Judgment. That is why, as people say: my Allah, crush that one; my Allah, do this like that. My Allah, do this like this. What are you there for? Don't you have a will? If you leave everything to Allah, why did you come here? Why did you come? We have gotten used to that. My Allah, do this. My Allah, do that. My Allah, do this. And you?

Where is your will? Where is your being created as the noblest of creatures? Where is your inventing and making things within your own will? Where is this? Allah Almighty has the attribute of justice. Those small brains, you know, small brains,

are not in a state to grasp what I say. Who are those small brains? Now we say: the states that have caught up with advanced technology have worked. Have they worked? They have advanced in technology. Have they? They have. Today, do they strike your head from afar? They do. My Allah, crush him. My Allah, kill him. My Allah, do this like that. What are you there for? You work too. You work too. You too find that advanced technology. Well, he has worked. Will you remove Allah Almighty's attribute of justice from there, and, as if he were not His servant, will He do you favours on earth because you are a Muslim?

Will He commit injustice? protect him, oppress him, not give him his due despite his work, and you, here where you lie, where you laze about, oh, you know me, you are a Muslim, (?) to me, I will strike that one in your place, will He say? That is, if it were so, this much prayer they make, and everywhere Muslim blood is flowing; is Allah a tyrant, that He should not accept those prayers? Look what it says in the verse. I am not saying it because I protect them, mind you; I am saying Islam is sleeping, that it is asleep. Those small brains immediately say: look, look, look, he is defending the unbeliever, well.

(?) I am not defending the unbeliever; I am trying to wake Islam up. That is what I said, those small brains cannot grasp me. What does Allah Almighty say? In (?) you build up your world, so that perhaps they fear you and become Muslims, or because they fear you, you will be at ease, it says. At ease. Look, He says it. That is, He leaves us to ourselves. All of us in this world. Each of us will be called to account with what we did, our will, (?). So don't sleep. Look at the Conqueror, Mehmed the Conqueror: from Byzantium's prisons he smuggles out those cannon masters. He has them smuggled out.

He has Byzantium's walls bombarded. He has cannons cast. Cannons. What our hands can reach, he says, they cannot even imagine. He works, he works. He does not lie on his back there, like the other (?) kings, like sultans. He does not lie on his back. When they see Mehmed the Conqueror working like a labourer, where is your sultan, ask their envoys. This is our sultan, he says. What, the sultan is working here? they say. Yes. The Prophet too was working. At the Quba Mosque. When they said: O Messenger of Allah, you rest, he said: shouldn't I too have a share here? Shouldn't I be an example to people?

So Allah does not commit injustice on earth.

We will work. We will use our own will. We cannot lie down and sleep idly. Today the Jew has deceived us so much. I am in Saudi Arabia, he says to me: Ente Abdülmetin kübbar, he says to me. Why do you call me kübbar? You, he says, are an Ottoman Muslim; the Turk is kübbar, he says. That is, the Ottoman was Muslim and the Turk was an unbeliever. They have instilled it like that. And in us they instilled 'dirty Arab' about the Arabs. Dirty Arab. Are you clean? Do you know what makes something dirty? Dirt, dirt is those who say 'dirty' themselves; carcasses walking about in a state of janabah they are, carcasses, carcasses walking about in janabah, they are dirty.

A Muslim is not dirty, Islam is clean. At least he has fulfilled his Lord's command and freed himself from janabah. This man is clean.

But those non-Muslims who cannot free themselves from impurity, those dirty ones walking in janabah, dirty they are. That is how we were deceived.

A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He must be alert, he must be wise. Wise. Yes.

What do we say? Both to the people who lived in the past and to the people who will come after them, as a memory, all the responsibility, the partial will, He has placed on the people who have it in their hands, and made all events manifest. This will continue like this until the Day of Judgment. No one will be able to blame Allah Almighty. O people! Despite there being no rightful side before Allah Almighty, your reason, (?) of their Lord, and according to the verse 'every soul shall taste death', despite knowing that you will die one day, how can you oppose Allah Almighty's commands and turn away from Allah Almighty, we say.

How can you turn away? Is this something a person of sound mind would do? Is this a path a sensible person would take, would hold to? On the Day of Gathering, such a day when people are resurrected again, when all souls say 'myself, myself', when no one has the strength to recognize anyone, when matter, children and family are of no help, when we have no helper and companion, when within our false belief what we believed in is of no help to us either, woe to our state then.

As it says, you know, in the verse we passed: woe to the state of those people. Yes.

Shall we read this part again? What does it say? On the Day of Gathering, such a day, the place of gathering, such a day when people again are resurrected, when all souls say 'myself, myself', when no one has the strength to recognize anyone, when matter, children and family are of no help, when we have no helper and companion, when within our false belief what we believed in is of no help to us either, woe to our state then. May Allah protect us. Yes.

O man! Your life is a treasure for you, a treasure. It is not possible to find this treasure of life again.

You cannot find it again. When you say 'alas', when the soul reaches the throat, when you realize that you have set out on a journey with no return, the chance has slipped from your hands. Even if you had the treasure of the world, you are going to a day when it will be of no use to you. So your life is a treasure. What kind of treasure, Hodja? If you say 'Allah' once, it is a treasure for you. Then you have matched the purpose for which Allah created you. In this case, there is a hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Do not wish for death. To stay in the world for a moment is better than lying underground for a thousand years, he says.

Why? Because if you say 'Allah' for a moment, it is enough for you. Because you have matched the purpose for which Allah created you, it is enough for you. Yes.

While the chance is in hand, while the soul is in this body, know the value of your life, turn to Allah. He is at-Tawwab. He is the One who accepts repentance abundantly. There is no god but Him, so let us turn to Him. He is compassionate and merciful toward His creations. As long as we are with our reason. Let us use our reason. Our reason makes our Lord known to us. Our nafs distances us from Allah. What is it? Our reason makes Allah's existence known, but our nafs never comes near Allah. It distances us from Him. If we can manage not to follow our nafs, one becomes a friend of Allah. We gain His nearness. The Paradise Allah Almighty promised and the peace of eternal life we will have attained.

May Allah reform all of us and grant us guidance. Yes.

What has our Selin Kıdı written? You explain it so beautifully, Hodja, it is impossible not to be moved. May Allah be pleased with you, she says. May Allah be pleased with all of us. Yes. We are saying our Lord's verses.

Hacı Bayram is rising. In the outward (?) he rises very high, that blessed person in Ankara.

His teacher says: now you will teach. I can't teach, Hodja, he says. My son, you have matured now, he says. That is, we have given our knowledge fully, and there is a gem in you too; you will teach. Hodja, I can't teach. Why? To teach it one needs a heart, he says. A heart. Then go to Bursa, they say. He goes to Bursa. In Bursa they see that the teachers there are oceans too. After they too teach a little: now, my son, we have nothing more to give you. Now you will teach. I can't teach, Hodja. Why, my son? I don't have such a heart, he says, so that I can work it into hearts. That is why I can't teach.

At that moment there is a knock at the door. Someone comes. Peace be upon you. And upon you be peace. Somuncu Baba from Kayseri is calling you, they say. He goes and becomes a student of Somuncu Baba, and after that he teaches. This is a matter of the heart. If this heart, on your heart, does not engrave itself, the word the tongue speaks goes in one ear and out the other. Yes.

With the ten commandments Allah Almighty sent to Moses, He invites them to good morals, to humanity, to service, to guidance, to illuminating the path to guidance. With people's service to one another He describes good morals. Eight of the ten commandments are in this verse. And two are in verse 84. We listed the eight here. Let's read again. That none but Allah be worshipped; two, that no fault be committed in respect toward mother and father; three, that help be given to relatives; four, that good be done to orphans; five, that to the poor who have no wealth or property at all help be given; six, that with people, with good treatment, one speak kindly; seven, that to Allah Almighty prayer and thanks be offered. Eight, that the poor be helped with zakat.

These eight commands He commands to this people with this verse, we said.
