Al-Baqarah 85: And you are those who kill their own. You drive some among you out of their homelands, oppress them, and help each other in animosity towards them. If they come to you, becoming your captives, you will treat them as captives for a return, but you will not allow them to remain in their homes. You are doing this despite being forbidden to drive them out of their homes; thus, you believe in part of the Torah and deny part of it. Now, for those who do not listen to my covenant, the punishment is disgrace in this world, and in the hereafter; it is to be thrown into the most severe punishment. Allah is aware of what you are doing.

Tafsir
As we have explained in the previous verse, two hostile tribes used to unite against the poor and weak among them for the sake of the life of this world, and used to lie and slander these unprotected people and drive them out of their homes and rob them of their property.
When these two tribes fought amongst themselves, they would take each other prisoner, treat them as captives in exchange for ransom, yet they would not harbor them in their homeland, but would expel them from their homeland unjustly. They would hold to some verses of the Torah that suited them, and turn away from others that did not suit them.
Allah (swt) then says to this people: "The punishment for your disobedience to My Verses is disgrace and humiliation in this world and the most severe punishment in the Day of Resurrection, because you do not stand within the provisions of the Torah that I have sent to you, because you hold the verse that suits you and turn away from the verse that does not suit you.
Allah (swt) is not unaware of the fact that such people do not listen to the Verses of Allah (swt). Because Allah (swt) has programmed these worlds until the Day of Resurrection, no creature can be outside of His consciousness and not even a fly can move its wing without His knowledge. In this respect, they will not be able to humble Allah.
The enmity of those who disbelieve in Allah is not individual, i.e. individuals do not rebel individually, but if all men and jinn were to gather together, they could not harm Allah.
Therefore, such people cannot bring any deficiency to Allah by not listening to His words. If Allah (swt) were to put a need on us, saying, "Look, you will do this, if you don't do this or that, this creation of mine will be ruined, or it will disappear, or without your help, if you don't do what I say, we will suffer loss," then Allah (swt) would be ignorant of His Word, and Allah (swt) would be ignorant of His Word by not fulfilling the Verses of Allah. He would not be able to rule over them, and Allah would be needing people for His own benefit. In this respect, Allah (swt) would also obey what people said, whether He wanted to or not.
But whoever disrupts this unity of goodness, prosperity and peace, whoever disobeys his Lord, whoever wreaks havoc, is wronging his own soul. People cannot bring any shortcoming to Allah by breaking His promise.
What is said in the video
We come to verse 85 of Surah Al-Baqarah. After explaining this too, sir, we will continue our talk. This is also a rather long verse. There are mistakes here too. For example, look what it says in verse 85. Sir,
if anyone wants to get the books, Ceyhun Varlı, Ceyhun Varlı's phone is known; they can reach him by message or by phone number. Yes.
In verse 85, what does it say?
You who accepted this covenant. They accepted this covenant. That is, they made that pledge with Allah. Well, now I call out like this.
I am calling out to those people who pass themselves off as scholars.
Those who read Arabic because they know Arabic and (?) people, now I am asking you. At the address 'Am I not your Lord?' You know nothing of that either. you will make a covenant with Allah and you will break that covenant, that character of yours, then you will go your own way as you see fit.
(?) these worlds would be turned upside down, upside down. No one can break the program that Allah Almighty has programmed, and if Allah does not will, no one can will. I explained this willing too. Yes. Verse 85 of Surah Al-Baqarah. These are from the part on verses that were explained wrongly. What does it say here? 28 (?) we are correcting. Sir, It says: you who accepted this covenant. This covenant, that is, they accepted the covenant of Allah Almighty. They accepted the bond they spoke. And we say: is there anyone such that after accepting the pledge, Allah Almighty would give them that destiny and they would change their destiny?
Whereas what does it say here? Then you are the ones who kill your own people. What does it say here? You who accepted this covenant, contrary to the pledge you gave, kill one another.
These are people who know Arabic and yet, within this Arabic, explain the verses of the Quran wrongly and attribute attributes to Allah. In this case, people who act within their own carnal feelings and do not want to compare, and seeing that the one who compares has run out of knowledge, turn their backs. When he sees his knowledge has run out, he turns his back. (?) he says, what became of my knowledge, he says. Why did you come into the world? To know your Lord. To hold fast to His verses. So turning back from a loss at any point is a gain. Come, learn the truth, know the truth. What does it say? You who accepted this covenant; is there such a thing?
That Allah Almighty would bind a covenant and give him that destiny, and those people would step outside their destiny. This is not possible. No one has the power and strength to step outside their own destiny. Yes. Here is the wrong explanation of the verse. Then you are the ones who (actually this is the verse) kill your own people. You drive a group of you out of their homes and, joining against them in wrongdoing and enmity, you help one another. To whom is He saying this? To the Jews.
If they come to you as captives, you treat them as captives in return for ransom and still do not allow them to stay in their homes. In our last lesson we told you a little about this verse. We explained their situation. What did we say? In the verse: they are such people that when they become captives they take ransom. Still they do not send them back to their homes. They treat them as captives. Yes. Whereas driving them out of their homes had been made forbidden to you. That is, according to their religious ruling, according to Allah Almighty's religious ruling, according to the ruling of that time, it was made forbidden to them.
In that case you believe in part of the Torah and deny part of it. 'Now the punishment of those among you who do not heed My covenant': this too is in the part on verses explained wrongly. What does it say now? Now the punishment of those among you who do not heed My covenant. What did it say here? What did it say here?
The punishment of those of you who behave like that is, in the life of this world, only disgrace. Or do you deny part of the Book, it says. Look. Do you deny? Sir, now the punishment of those among you who cannot heed My covenant. What does it say here? The punishment of those of you who behave like that is, in the life of this world, only disgrace, and on the Day of Resurrection, being thrust into the severest punishment. It continues there anyway. Only disgrace and baseness in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection, being cast into the severest punishment. Allah is never unaware of what they do.
Yes. Now what are we saying? 'Now the punishment of those among you who do not heed My covenant' is different. Here. What does it say here? 'The punishment of those of you who behave like that' is different. They look more or less the same, but one is not heeding Allah's command. The other: because Allah Almighty created people fallible, he heeds that command, but his behaviour is faulty. He repents. Later he is reformed. So one has to be very careful with words. What happens? What does it say here now: of you? The punishment of those of you who behave like that. We behave so too. Allah Almighty says: do not drink, do not gamble, do not commit adultery.
He behaves so, they do it this way, but then he repents and turns back. This is different; 'now the punishment of those among you who do not heed his covenant' is different. That is, those who turn their backs on Allah's covenant. The punishment of those who do not heed it. It seems close, but there is an enormous (?). Allah Almighty created people fallible. He may fall short. But there is also not heeding His covenant, knowingly not heeding His covenant. These differ here. That is why this word: the Quran is the science of the Word, the Word. One must pay great attention to words.
As we explained in the previous verse, the two tribes that were enemies
would unite for the life of this world against the poor and weak among them. They would make lies and claims against these unprotected people, drive them from their homes and seize their property. Why do they do this?
Had they believed in the Hereafter, they would not have fixed their eyes on this world. For this world they recognise neither Allah, nor prophet, nor book. For this reason, for their worldly interests, their own brothers, their own kin, they do not even shrink from killing. In the fights between these two tribes among themselves, they take each other captive. Treating them as captives in return for ransom, they still would not shelter them in their homes and would drive them unjustly from their lands. They take their ransom, and still they do not send them back to their lands and they treat them like slaves.
They would keep the verses of the Torah that suited them, and from some verses that did not suit them they would turn away.
Allah Almighty, in this case, to this people: because you did not stand within the rulings of the Torah I sent you, because you held on to the verse that suited you and turned your back on what did not, the punishment in His sight for your not heeding His verses is, in this world, disgrace and baseness, and on the Day of Resurrection, being cast into the severest punishment, He decrees. Is that right? Right. There is no deficiency in the verses of Allah Almighty. Truly baseness. A cursed people, cursed. The mischief of the earth. Allah decrees this. They are a cursed people. Except for some among them.
For them Allah Almighty says this: They give zakat, they pray. They cannot go on Hajj, lest they be recognised. Among them, keeping themselves hidden, they perform their worship. There are even rabbis among them. Rabbis, yes. These are the exceptions; they are a cursed people. If Allah Almighty has cursed a people, well, if a person has (?) beside Allah, has taken his place, he too will of course regard what Allah has cursed as base, lowly and contemptible.
Of such people's not heeding the verses of Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty is not unaware. There is not an atom in the universe whose doings Allah Almighty does not know. Because Allah Almighty has programmed these worlds until the Day of Resurrection; outside His awareness no created being can step. And without His knowledge it cannot even stir a fly's wing. For this reason they cannot render Allah helpless either. So what do we mean to say here? Their actions in this way, keeping part of the Torah and not keeping part of it, with the parts that suit them, their changing the Torah with their hands, as Allah says, cannot render Allah helpless.
Because human intellect is at most twelve percent. Our Lord, however, is the whole intellect. Whole. They tell me: you attributed attributes to Allah. You ascribed intellect to Him. If there is no intellect, with what did Allah make these? With what did He make them? There was no intellect, and He gave a spirit from His own essence. What did we say? That spirit carries all the qualities of its Lord. In that case, in the world of lahut, when Allah Almighty said: I am your Lord, how did that spirit answer? With what did it answer? It answered with its intellect. The intellect in the spirit, we call (?).
It answered with its intellect.
So Allah Almighty
endowed man with at most twelve percent intellect; His own essence is the whole intellect. While you cannot create anything out of your twelve percent intellect, while you depend on what Allah created, in this helplessness how can you render Allah Almighty helpless? One (?) laughs at their ignorance. Yes. Of such people's not heeding the verses of Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty is not unaware. Because Allah Almighty has programmed these worlds until the Day of Resurrection; outside His awareness no created being can step, and without His knowledge it cannot even stir a fly's wing. For this reason they cannot render Allah helpless.
The enmity of those who deny Allah towards Allah is not individual. That is, not one person, not individual. That is, not persons rebelling separately: even if all humans and jinn came together and gathered, they could not harm Allah.
What is it? Not just the person alone, individually;
even if all the enemies of Allah united, humans and jinn included, even if the universe with all in it united, they cannot harm Allah. Because Allah created everything within His own power. For this reason Allah Almighty proves that it is within His power with this verse. Allah Almighty has power over all things, He says. Yes.
So, this being so, people cannot bring any deficiency to Allah by not heeding Allah's Word. If they bring a deficiency at all, they buy it as torment for their own self. The deficiency, as torment for their own self, that evil destination, the fire of Hell, they buy. If Allah Almighty showed need of us and said: look, you will do it like this; if you do not do it like this, what I created will be ruined, or will be wiped out, or if you do not help, if you do not keep what I say, we will suffer harm; if He showed need of people like that, then by people not carrying out Allah's verses, Allah would be unaware of His word.
Yes.
If Allah Almighty had shown need of a person, even of an atom, that atom too, because He showed need of it, would make Allah Almighty do what it wanted. Whereas Allah Almighty has the attribute Hayy.
All created beings find life from Allah, they depend on Allah, but Allah is free of His creation. In this case the whole universe, from atom to sphere, depends on Allah.
Yes.
In that case it would mean Allah showing need of people for His own interest. That is, saying to people: if you do it this way, it will turn out like this. Otherwise we will suffer harm; had He shown need of them like that, people would make not only people but Allah too turn somersaults. Somersaults. But Allah needs nothing. And all created beings are under His rule and in need of Allah. In need.
Allah Almighty, who is free of such states, since He shows need of nothing, Allah who is perfect and all-knowing, since He is free of all deficient attributes, since with His attributes Rahman and Rahim He is very fond of and tender towards His creation, always wants their good, that is, His creation's good. Because He wants the good of His creation, and because He created people fallible, what does Allah Almighty say? O My servant, do it like this. Do it like this. I want nothing from you. I have no need of you. For your own self, for your own good, if you do what I say, look, where you have no claim and no right, where you have power over nothing, sir, in that highest Paradise I will give you palaces, mansions.
You will live here forever, He says. You will live forever.
In this case a person, under this mercy of Allah Almighty, feels shame before Allah. If he uses his intellect. That is why Allah Almighty too (we keep repeating this) says: do you never use your intellect? Do you never reflect? Why? Well, there is an Allah who created me. Look, these worlds turn in order and harmony. People were created with knowledge. Creatures were created with knowledge. Sir, none of it is chance. Only, to the ignorant perhaps it may be chance. To the ignorant.
The studies of people doing science today on (?) and they see it is a great work of art of the Allah who created it this way. In this case nothing is chance; the absolute owner of that universe, the (?) and ruling one, who has the power to bring into being from nothing, the Creator, Allah's work. But whoever breaks this unity of goodness, salvation and peace, does not heed his Lord's word, drowns everything in corruption, has wronged his own self. By not keeping Allah's word, people cannot bring Allah any deficiency. Yes.
