Al-Baqarah 87: Vow by My Jalaal (My Glory)! Verily, We gave Moses the Torah, and after Moses, we have sent one Prophet after another. We gave Jesus, son of Mary, clear miracles and We have strengthened him with Rooh al-Quds (Allah’s Entity). And whenever a Prophet came with orders that were against your desires, you became arrogant and stubborn; you have denied some of the Prophets and some of them, you have killed (such as Zachariah (Zakariyya), John the Baptist (Yahya), and Jethro (Shuayb)).

Vow by My Jalaal (My Glory)!
Tafsir
Since the people of Israel denied many prophets and killed prophets such as Yahya and Zakariyya, Allah swears by His Divinity, saying, "We gave the Torah to Moses for the sake of My Jalal", this shows us that this people was a people who went beyond the limits and went so far as to swear by Allah's Divinity.
Allah sent messengers after him, one after the other. He also gave Jesus, son of Mary, clear miracles, such as raising the dead. But some of you denied this too. You did not benefit from Jesus either. You turned away even though Allah (swt) revealed with clear miracles that He strengthened Jesus with Ruhul Jerusalem, that is, He was with him with His Divine Presence. Whenever Allah sent a prophet, you either denied or killed the prophets sent by Allah. When a prophet comes to them, whom their souls dislike, and he communicates the commands of Allah to them, they do not obey the prophet out of arrogance.
They do not accept prophets who come against their wishes and desires. They force Allah (swt) to decide in their favor and dare to do so. Allah (swt) knew what they would do, so He cursed this people with the attribute of Essabir after repeated warnings. They never obey Allah. Allah (swt) curses or destroys such people after He has made such people witnesses to Himself with His attribute of Allahliness, when they have nothing righteous to say to Allah (swt). Neuzi billah we should seek refuge in Allah from this situation. May Allah protect us from such a fate.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 87. Now Allah Almighty swears by His Being. Look, by His Being: By My majesty, We gave Moses the Torah, and after Moses We sent prophets one after another. To Jesus, son of Mary, We gave clear miracles such as raising the dead, and with the Ruh al-Qudus We strengthened him.
These parts need a lot of explaining — the Ruh al-Qudus. Who is called the Ruh al-Qudus? They have all attributed this to Gabriel (peace be upon him). Allah protect us. Gabriel (peace be upon him) is not the Ruh al-Qudus. Don't just go by what I say; I will prove it to you with verses.
And whenever a prophet came to you with a command your selves did not like, you grew arrogant and were stubborn. Some of the prophets you denied, and some of them you killed. Like Zechariah, John, (?). Now, before moving on to the explanation, the commentary, let us prove that the Ruh al-Qudus is not Gabriel. What does it say?
To Jesus, son of Mary, We gave clear miracles such as raising the dead. Who gave this? Allah Almighty. And We strengthened him with the Ruh al-Qudus.
If the Ruh al-Qudus is Gabriel,
was it Gabriel who gave Jesus the power to raise the dead? Was it Gabriel who made Jesus speak while in his mother's womb, I mean in her arms? Is that so? Be sensible. When He says We supported him with the Ruh al-Qudus, he was supported by the Divine Being Himself. He was supported by Allah Almighty. And these miracles are done only by Allah. Miracles are from Allah; they are signs (ayah). What does it say? We have shown Our signs clearly to people. That is, Our miracles; in some places miracles are called ayah. So it is Allah who supports the miracles, Allah who strengthens them. So: We supported him with the Ruh al-Qudus — He supported him with His own Being.
What did He say? What did He say to Mary? I am fasting today; point to the child, He said. They slandered her: you committed adultery — because he came into being without a father. Then Jesus, in her arms, just newly born, spoke. La ilahe illallah, there is no god but Allah. I am the servant and messenger of my Lord. Later on he will say I am His messenger. Now, the people were astonished. The child is speaking. A miracle is happening. Did Gabriel do this?
Be sensible, sensible. But that is how they taught it. How? That is how they taught it. Teaching it that way, Allah's attribute was taken out of the picture. And Gabriel did it. Gabriel brought it. Gabriel took it. He did it. This one did it. Yes. Look, what does it say now? Here in verse 87 as well. In verse 87. To Jesus son of Mary too We gave miracles, and with the Ruh al-Qudus, with Gabriel, We supported him. (?) Prove to me: how did you support this with Gabriel? Prove it to me. But I am proving it to you. Miracles are from Allah. If Jesus spoke, he spoke from Allah. So the one who supports this is Allah Almighty.
Now you refute this thesis of mine, prove to me with verses that it is Gabriel (peace be upon him).
Yes. Now we come to the explanation of the verse. Having done this much, we will probably open those up a little here again. Because the people of Israel denied many prophets and killed prophets such as John and Zechariah, Allah Almighty swearing by His Divine Being and saying, By My majesty, We gave the Torah to Moses, shows us that this people had transgressed all bounds, that they went so far as to make Allah Almighty swear by His own Being. What does it mean? If I believe in part of the Torah and not in another part — doesn't it say in the verses we went through: You kept part of the Torah and turned your backs on part of it.
So, By My majesty, He says, I sent that Torah. You turned your back, but it came to you from Me, He says. Since you know Me, I swear by My majesty, that is My honour and, er, My Being, that — says Allah Almighty; My majesty means His Being. I swear by that Being of Mine, I swear by My Being besides whom there is no god, that it was I who sent the Torah, He says. So that is how far they went: they provoke Allah Almighty's wrath like this.
After that Allah Almighty sent prophets one after another. To Jesus son of Mary He gave clear miracles such as raising the dead. But some of you denied this too. You did not benefit from Jesus either. That Allah Almighty, with clear miracles, strengthened Jesus with the Ruh al-Qudus, that is, that He was with him through His very Divine Being — although He made this known in His verses, you turned away.
Yes, you need to listen well. While we write these here, perhaps hodjas are listening too, but my request is that they please compare that knowledge. I mean, I may learn something wrongly, I too may learn wrongly, but proof is needed, proof, proof with verses is needed. I prove it, I prove it. So please don't say, what will become of my knowledge, and turn your backs on the truths. Our forefathers say: wherever you turn back from a loss, it is a gain. Yes. But
some of you denied this too. You did not benefit from Jesus either. That Allah Almighty, with clear miracles, strengthened Jesus with the Ruh al-Qudus, that is, through His very Divine Being was with him — although He made it known in His verses, you turned away. Whenever Allah sent a prophet, you either denied the prophets Allah sent or killed them. When a prophet their selves dislike comes to them and conveys Allah's commands to them, out of arrogance they do not obey the prophet. So, these, these — whose partisans are they, do you know?
You're curious, of course: Iblis's partisans. Just as Iblis was cursed, these too, though cursed, are partisans of the same line.
Yes, if these are cursed, Iblis is cursed too. The same traits are in them. If things go their way, they turn to Allah. If not, they disregard Allah and do as they please. When a prophet their selves dislike comes to them and conveys Allah's commands to them, out of arrogance they do not obey the prophet. The accursed one too grew arrogant, thought himself great, and did not prostrate to Adam. What happened? He was cursed. These too, because they did not heed Allah's commands, were cursed. What difference is there between the two? Yes, prophets who come outside their wishes and desires they do not accept.
They try to force Allah Almighty to decide in their own interest and dare to attempt it. And since Allah Almighty knew what they would do, with His attribute of patience, after constant warnings, He cursed this people. With His attribute of patience. They do not listen to reason; they are a people who never obey Allah. Allah Almighty, with His attribute of Godhood, after making such people fully witness against themselves, when people have no rightful case left to put to Allah, either curses such peoples or destroys them. Na'udhu billah. In this case one must take refuge in Allah. May Allah protect us from such an end.
Allah protect us.
