Translation

The ignorant ones from the polytheists and the People of the Book said, “isn’t Allah supposed to talk to us, or should a verse not be revealed to us?” The ones before them also said the same. How similar their hearts are! For those seeking to know the truths thoroughly, We have shown the verses openly.

Tafsir

The ignorant and the polytheists who try to fit Allah into their own minds are waiting for Allah (swt) to speak to them. The tribes before him said the same thing.

These are ignorant people who forget that they have been created, who take the Creator as their interlocutor, who want to see Allah in pride and grandeur, and who are in the darkness of shirk. They would not believe even if they saw Allah. If Allah (swt) had not informed us that He had sent people to the realm of the unseen and the unseen, but had shown His Essence to such people in the worldly realm, they would have found an excuse and denied Allah. Just as they disbelieved in Allah when He showed us His Essence and made a covenant with us in the eternal limbo. Allah (swt) informs us in His verse that the previous nations said the same as they did. (How beautifully alike are their hearts).

Allah says: "We have made the Verses clear to those who want to know the truth. Our Lord; Sending His Verses in such a way that every human mind can comprehend and recognize and comprehend the Lord, bringing examples to human beings in a way that every human being can understand by saying that they are clear, and saying in one of His Verses (We never forsake bringing an example with the mosquito and its larger counterpart), Allah (swt) has proved His Essence to every human intellect by sending His Verses in such a way that every human intellect can comprehend His Essence through the Verses sent by Allah (swt), as well as by sending prophets and their heirs, the scholars. Therefore, We have made Our Verses clear to those who wish to know the truth.

What is said in the video

Please. We come to Surah Al-Baqarah, the 118th verse.

The ignorant among the polytheists and the People of the Book — we said, we said — they said, who were these? The ignorant among the polytheists and the People of the Book. They said: Allah should speak to us. Allah should speak to us. Or a sign should come to us. The "sign" here means a miracle should come. Wasn't it? Those before them also said just what they say, says Allah Almighty.

How alike their hearts are.

We have made the signs clear to those who truly want to know the truth, it says. How beautifully it puts it, brother. To those who want to see the truth. To those who truly want to know the truth, to those who want to (?) see, the signs We have made well known. And we, to people, to those who want to know our Lord, show His verses clearly. We bring them into the light. But those who can't stomach it look for a calf under the ox. Those who can't stomach it.

Look how explicit the verses are. The ignorant who try to fit Allah into their own heads, framing Him by their own measure, and the polytheists expect Allah Almighty to speak with them. The peoples before them said the same thing. Yes, they resemble their forefathers, you see. Is prophethood left to you? If it came at all, it would come to so-and-so. Well, let a sign come to us too. If Allah Almighty — you asked for a sign, that is, you asked for a miracle, and after that miracle your heart slips and you don't turn to your Lord, then destruction becomes your due. The destroyed peoples (?) were destroyed that way; they wanted to see a miracle, and having seen those miracles, still not believing, a public case seized them by the collar and they were destroyed. Because the Prophet (peace be upon him) is alive, because he came as a mercy to the worlds, because of that mercy, destruction was lifted; there are calamities.

So what does Allah Almighty say to them now? How their hearts have come to resemble their forefathers'. Resembled those of old. Yes.

How alike their hearts are. We have made the signs clear to those who truly want to know the truth, it says. To those who want to know. So those who use their minds and see the truth, who break their carnal feelings and turn to the truth, are the exception. And those who see the truth and, when their own helplessness comes to light, out of the (?) of their nafs slander the person, are also an exception.

So it is. We're trying to tell you something. You understand. The ignorant who try to fit Allah into their own heads, framing Him by their own measure, and the polytheists expect Allah Almighty to speak with them.

The peoples before them said the same thing. "We — a sign — if only a sign had come to us," they said. These, forgetting that they were created, holding the Creator as their counterpart, wanting to see Allah in pride and arrogance, are the ignorant and people in the darkness of shirk. Just as they see their idols before them, they want to see Allah that way. In fact, in the hereafter too, although Allah Almighty — our Lord — before them says "I am your Lord", they waited for the Lord of their own imagination. They turned their backs on Allah. Out of pride and arrogance they did not recognise Him as Lord.

And what does Allah Almighty say? On the Day of Judgment they will not be able to see their Lord. That is, in the hereafter. But what do the poor souls unaware of these verses say? They will be raised blind. And some will say it is a verse indicating that Allah will be seen in Paradise. Yet since we will be called to account at the Great Tribunal, is it only in Paradise that we will see Allah Almighty? So the meaning here: there is no god but Allah, that they might see that Lord of their imagination they long for. Yes, even if they saw Allah, they would not believe. Since they didn't believe there, they won't believe again.

Only if Allah Almighty were to descend from the sky with angels — and "had We willed, We would have made you one community", it says. That is, We would have made you obey. Descending from the heavens with angels, We would have made you prostrate. But Allah Almighty gave man such great value that, having created him close to Himself, He left him free in his own liberty, in his own will. So these people, within their own will, without being pressured by anyone, saying "my Lord" to Allah Almighty, saying "He is the One who created me", knowing their Lord — this is the summit of the art of Allah Almighty's creation and its (?). Yes, this is what Allah created for.

If Allah Almighty — instead of telling us that He sent people to the (?) of His essence and to the unseen world — had shown Himself like that to people in this world, that is, if He had said "I did not send you to an unseen world, I will send you to a world where I am seen, and there too I will make Myself known to you" — had He said so, and had Allah Almighty appeared before them and said "what shall I do for you", just like there they would have denied again. They would have denied again. They would find another excuse and deny Allah. Just as in the pre-eternal (?), when He showed Himself to us, when He made the covenant with us, they did not believe in Allah and denied Him.

So then — "I saw You and (?), I could not know; had You, in an unseen world, a world where You are not seen, made Yourself known to me, I would know I was created by a Lord and would obey You" — so that you cannot say that: here you are, step up, an unseen world; Allah Almighty makes it known. But again the nafs, again Satan — though they know the truth, people — what arrogance that carnal desire is — against the one who speaks the truth harbour a grudge and, with their craving to be the head, in a swamp they wander. Even though they see the truth, even though they know it. Yes, that is the craving to be the head.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) says: Whoever falls for the craving to be the head loses his own head, he says. So these are (?) their own heads. (?) they lose their heads. Yes. Let's continue.

That the communities before them said just what these say, Allah Almighty tells us in His verse. Their hearts too are nicely alike. Alike. So He says. The same. The communities before them said so too. Allah Almighty tells us in this verse that they said so. So He says how nicely alike their hearts are. If hearts boil, does sugar come of it? (?), it says, like draws to like. (?) — he will live that in this world. Because he has equipped himself that way. Yes. Allah Almighty: to those who truly want to know the truth We have made the signs clear, He says.

Our Lord, in a way every human mind can grasp and know its Lord and comprehend, sending His verses — by saying "clear", and again bringing people examples each can understand — again, in a verse, "We never refrain from giving an example with a mosquito and (?)", He says — so that every human mind, through the verses Allah Almighty sent, can comprehend Him, sending His verses; and besides that, by sending the prophets and their heirs, the scholars, to everyone with reason He has proven Himself. He has proven Himself. Yes.

For this reason, to those who truly want to know the truth We have made Our signs clear, says Allah Almighty. That's what He says. To those who want to see the truth We have made Our signs clear. There is the religious ruling. There are the miracles. "I didn't see." You cannot say that. Why can't you say it?

Over time our Lord's miracles appear through the verses. As we always say, the people of the Sabbath — with Doctor Darwin saying man descends from apes — our Lord turning their human forms into apes, and this being found and proven in our time, is the proving of Allah Almighty's verses, which is a (?) miracle. Their being turned into apes. But those who have given up their own humanity, who cannot fit the title of humanity to themselves — by Allah Almighty's verse saying "they are like the four-legged ones roaming the earth", even saying "(?)", fitting that verse, those who accept the animal — the animal — as their own ancestor surely will not be worthy of the quality of humanity, and our Lord's verses will come to light. This miracle is still going on.

On TV, in some of these so-called animal programmes, they try to prove that man descends from apes. And at meetings, a Muslim who wants to prove the opposite they throw out of the meeting. Of course they will. Because they are not worthy of humanity. According to the verse "they are like the four-legged ones roaming the earth", the animal — the animal — they will accept as their ancestor, and by proving they come from its line Allah's miracles, the verses, will come to light. For example, just as fresh and salt water don't mix, being together and yet not mixing, as Captain Cousteau found — these are all Allah's miracles.

Back then, perhaps even seeing such miracles with our own eyes we wouldn't have believed. But what our Lord told us in the verses coming to light over time, its appearing, is the appearing of our Lord's miracles. Yes.

So Allah Almighty says We have made Our signs clear — in every age, to every person. He shows them clearly in the same way. No one can object to this. Because, since no prophet will come again, no one will be able to say: O my Allah, You showed them miracles, You strengthened their faith. Show us a miracle too, (?) our faith was strengthened, (?) — you will not be able to say that. And some will say: O my Allah, those people asked You for miracles, and You, by Your showing them the miracles — they did not believe, they were destroyed. Two: we did not, like them, ask for miracles as they saw and then refuse to believe; O Allah, to You be thanks, they will say.

Every kind of person, in every way, will bind his heart to Allah and make his prayer. Yes.
