At that time, Abraham said “oh my Lord! Provide those who believe in Allah and the hereafter with different types of fruits”. Allah said “I will give provisions in the short duration of this world for the infidels. Then, I will punish them in hell. What a bad destination (hellfire is)”.
Tafsir
Hazrat Ibrahim prayed to Allah (swt) saying: "Lord, provide the people of faith in the Baytullah with various fruits, out of mercy for them. Our Lord says in response to Hazrat Ibrahim, "I will provide for the disbelievers for a little time of the world. What is meant here by a little time of the world is that Allah (swt) says in one of His Verses (a thousand years of the world is like a day of the Hereafter). Therefore, if the average life span of a human being here were to be considered as sixty years, it would correspond to an hour and a half in the Hereafter, which of course corresponds to a small amount of time in this world. For those who disbelieve in Allah, there is sustenance in this world. Because all souls will come into the world, live, eat their sustenance as long as they live, and keep themselves as witnesses to Allah (swt) during that lifetime, according to the covenant they have made.
(Then I will expose him to the torment of Hell.) When a person is presented with something, does he not thank the owner of the gift or item? Does not humanity and good manners dictate this? We humans are sustenance from the blessings of Allah (swt) every moment. We take what Allah (swt) has created, we live with it, we desire it, we use it. But we do not remember the owner of what we are given and give thanks and gratitude. What a sad and painful event this is. In addition to that, we do not recognize the giver of sustenance and things, and we oppose him and bear a grudge in our hearts.
Isn't this something that makes a person's conscience even more painful?
According to the Verse of Allah (all souls will taste death) (and finally your return is to Me), when we are returned to Allah (then I will subject him to the torment of Hell), they will be captured and thrown to Hell, to that place of torment.
Those who do not recognize Allah (swt) in the life of this world, who do not give thanks for His blessings, who turn away from Allah (swt), those whom He calls your enemies and the enemies of Allah (adüvvallahu wa adüvvekum) as He says in His verse, those who are deceived by the life of this world and exchange the Hereafter for the life of this world, those who make their ego a god and run after it. Indeed, what an evil way to travel, and what an evil destination is the Fire.
What is said in the video
To Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 126: At that time Abraham said: O Lord, those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, provide them with all kinds of fruits. With all kinds of fruits. Allah: Whoever disbelieves, I will also provide for him for the short time of the world. Then I will subject him to the punishment of Hell. What an evil destination is that fire to be reached. He says. The meaning here: the meaning that Abraham expressed, Allah Almighty immediately completes with the verse, cuts it short and completes it. What does He say? At that time Abraham said: O my Lord, those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, with all kinds of fruits, provide them.
These fruits: people's loads of reward are also a fruit. It is a food that a person earns, one he needs. In fact, life is on the other side anyway. In this case Allah Almighty immediately gives His answer to Abraham's words. What does He say? Whoever disbelieves, He also provides for him for the short time of the world. The short time. A thousand years here are like one day of the Hereafter. Within a life that is like an hour and a half, of course it will be a short time. Then I will subject him to the punishment of Hell. That is, in the Hereafter he has no provision. He has no spiritual (?) provision.
His only provision, his provision is the Zaqqum tree, and the other is fire or oppression.
I will subject him to the punishment of Hell. He does not say: I will necessarily throw him into the fire. There are many forms of punishment there. In the cold, too, if a person freezes, is cold, say in the depth of winter, minus thirty, forty degrees, fifty degrees, sixty degrees. When a person grabs a piece of iron like that, his hand burns from the cold and sticks to it. That too is a punishment. Imagine, in such cold, wearing (?) a single nylon shirt. What would you do? A punishment, of course. No death; a life without death. Moreover, Abraham saying to Allah Almighty: O Lord, provide the people of faith at the Baytullah with all kinds of fruits — that is his praying for them out of his compassion.
Our Lord, in reply to Abraham (peace be upon him), says: those who disbelieve too, I will provide for them for a short time of the world. Because His mercy in the universe is for everyone. He, what kind of covenant these people gave, Allah Almighty, seeing Him in the Hereafter: you would have sent me to a hidden world; look, I would have worshipped You there — so that they do not say that, so that they do not say it. Since Allah Almighty is free of any deficient attribute, He sent them to the world of creation. So that within their lifetimes they prove to all His creatures what kind of people they are, and He provides for them within the life He gave.
Yes.
In reply to Abraham (peace be upon him): those who disbelieve, too, for a short time of the world, I will provide for them, He says. Here, by a short time of the world is meant: Allah Almighty says in a verse that a thousand years of the world are like one day of the Hereafter. So if the average life span of a person here is taken as sixty years, relative to the Hereafter it corresponds to about an hour and a half, which of course corresponds to a short time of the world. Those who deny Allah also have provision in this world. Because all souls, according to the covenant they gave, will come to the world and live, eat their provision as long as they live, and within that life make themselves witnesses before Allah Almighty.
You thought you would die without proving what kind of people you are. According to that verse; we repeat this (?). In this verse there are great lessons for people. From these lessons people need to benefit. They need to take these lessons in. So: I came here to prove what kind of person I am. So we did not come to the world like the other creatures Allah Almighty created, to eat and drink, enjoy ourselves and live. We have our own responsibilities within our own will. We need to fulfil these responsibilities. If we think a little, we know that all these worlds were created by a Lord, by a God, by Allah.
Even if a person denies, in his heart there is a seal that will overcome that denial and say: yes, there is an Allah. Because he knows that he was created (?) by a Being. He knows that these worlds were created by a Lord. So, since Allah Almighty created man honourable and gave him his partial free will, if that person knows he was created by a Lord, he will obey that Lord. Now, those people, who are they? Those outside the Islamic ideology, those outside the religion of Islam,
what do they say? Allah Almighty, to them: they will not see their Lord. Where? In the Hereafter. Why? Neither in this world nor in the Hereafter will they see their Lord. Why will they not see their Lord? There is no god other than Allah, so how could they see their lord? So they too know that they were created. Those who deny also know that they were created. In this case, in this case, since Allah Almighty created people, and those people know they were created by a Lord, to that Creator to show respect and to live within that Creator's commands, and by conforming to that Creator's command, to attain his Creator's mercy.
Now, this world is a treasure. A person's life is a treasure for him. If he knows his Lord. If he cannot know his Lord, a person's life in this short world is his paradise. This world is his paradise. Then, in the Hereafter, he remains subject to eternal punishment. Because in this world, for a person who is outside Islam, this world being his paradise: even if he suffers the greatest hardships, even if in this world he is ground between two millstones, compared to the eternal and endless life of the Hereafter, this world is his paradise. Yes. So life, a person's life is for him a treasure. He must use this treasure well.
Yes.
Those who deny Allah, for those, too, there is provision in this world. Because all souls, according to the covenant they gave, will come to the world, live, and as long as they live eat their provision and within that life make themselves witnesses before Allah Almighty. Since people came to the world to bear witness about themselves, to prove what kind of people they are, Allah Almighty, among the people He created, in this world, without favouring any of them, treats all the beings He created equally, as His servants. With what? With His attribute Ar-Rahman. In the universe His mercy is for everyone, everyone, without distinction.
But in the Hereafter, with His attribute Ar-Rahim, only for the believer. Yes.
So Allah Almighty, Abraham's (peace be upon him) saying: At that time Abraham said: O Lord, those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, provide them with all kinds of fruits. And Allah Almighty saying: whoever disbelieves, I will also, for the short time of the world, provide for him; then I will subject him to the punishment of Hell. What an evil destination is that fire to be reached — in response to this, it is that people come to this world, and so that in this world they can prove what kind of people they are, this life is a treasure for them, and with this life, which is a treasure, within his Lord's command, with the most beautiful feeling toward his Creator and (?), he worships Him.
And what does Allah Almighty say? If it were not for your worship, what would We do with you? That's right. Within our own will, toward our Lord, toward the One who created us, we must, by our own will, fulfil the duty of servanthood to our Lord; it is necessary.
Yes.
Then I will subject him to the punishment of Hell, He says.
Whom will He subject to the punishment of Hell? Those who live outside the religion of Islam. What does Allah Almighty say in the verse? They are like cattle on the earth, He says — in this world, of Allah Almighty's attribute Ar-Rahman they benefit; Allah Almighty, among the servants He created, without any distinction, treating all His creatures equally, secures their provision; and in the face of those outside Islam associating the Prophet or partners with Allah, or denying Allah, denying the Quran, those people of whom He says: they are like cattle roaming the earth, even further astray in their course — what does He say?
Then I will subject him to the punishment of Hell. So this person, who lives in this world as if without responsibility, is in fact under such a responsibility, under such a yoke, that he is not aware of it. This yoke is Allah's commands and prohibitions. If a person under that yoke were aware of it — that with every step he takes, every breath he draws, every second he lives, he is responsible to his Lord — in every respect, with his life, with the blessings Allah Almighty gave, with this body entrusted to you, in every state a person is responsible to his Lord. But because a person does not see — does not see our Lord, who is hidden in this world — he thinks himself free, and thinks no one will ever call him to account; with a very small intellect he thinks himself very clever and sees himself above everything, and in fact he has fallen into such a trap that, within his own will, he has submitted to the trap of Satan dragging him to destruction and has (?) to his nafs.
Having become a captive, with his tiny intellect he thinks himself free, and that no one can interfere with him, and in this way he lives his life within the feelings of the nafs, and finally, in the mire of this swamp of a world, by getting caught in Satan's net, he leaves himself subject to the punishment of Hell. That is the place of which Allah Almighty says: what an evil course they are on, what an evil bed it is. Where? The place Allah created as a (?) of punishment and named Hell. Yes.
When something is offered to a person, that person thanks the owner of the gift or the thing he received. Isn't it so? A person helped you, got you out of a difficult moment, (?), or supported you in every way. What does that person do? He thanks the person in front of him. He thanks him. The rule of humanity and good manners demands this. We humans, at every moment, from the blessings given by Allah Almighty, the Most Holy, are provided for. We take what Allah Almighty created, live with it, desire it, and use those things. But remembering the owner of the thing given, we do not thank Him and give thanks.
The nail says to the hammer: why do you hit me on the head? And the hammer says: why are you telling me? Look at the one who strikes, he says. We see the one striking, the hammer hitting the head of the nail; we do not see the one who makes the hammer strike. Allah does not hit a person on the head with a hammer. This is an example. Yes, Allah treats people with His mercy. But man does not recognise that mercy, does not give thanks for His mercies, he credits himself: you did this and got that, you did that and achieved this, he says — when others perhaps do a thousand times what he did, but in their provision they cannot get what he got.
In this case, so that everyone can prove what kind of being he is, benefiting from his Lord's blessings, within that life does he give thanks to his Lord or not? This — people's life within the blessings our Lord gave, and whether within that life they thank our Lord or not — though Allah Almighty knows what they will do, so that they bear witness about themselves, are the good things or the misfortunes He gives.
What a sad and bitter thing this is, we say. Not thanking the One who gives so many blessings. And besides this, not recognising the One who gives provision and things, opposing Him, and in our hearts, toward Allah Almighty, we even feel resentment. We feel resentment. When they hear the word of truth, He says, they (?) at which the clouds in the sky would crack (?). And I have met some people. I met people who worship Satan, worshippers. We will take revenge on Allah, they say. My son, my child, I say. The One who created you is that Allah. The One who also created what you worship is that Allah.
That Allah who created no being that could stand against His Essence. That is, He created no being that could overpower Him. So if you worship what He created and forget its Creator, tomorrow, when this life turns into eternal torment, how will you repair it, I say. The man (?) to me. We will take revenge, they say. Revenge. No one can turn around anyone's life, lived by their own will. There is only conveying the message; we have conveyed ours. Allah Almighty says in His verse: My beloved, you cannot make the deaf hear, He says. Yes. In this case their hearts are now sealed. But we still pray. Since we do not know the unseen, we say: O Allah, give them guidance too.
Because they are our Lord's creation, they are human. We pray for them too. God willing, they will come to guidance and attain Allah's mercy.
For a person, this is an even more painful thing.
What is it? This is an even more painful thing for a person. That is, their denying Allah. According to the verse of Allah Almighty: every soul shall taste death. And finally — think about it — when we are returned to Allah Almighty, by His verses saying your return is to Me, then, saying: I will subject him to the punishment of Hell, these will be seized and into Hell, that place of punishment, they will be thrown. Your return is to Me, He says; there is no escape. No one, no one escapes this return. Now it comes, it always comes. I do not really want to say this, but to remove superstitions from people I say it out of necessity.
I say it out of necessity. To remove superstitions. Coming to the Sirat bridge and burning. There is no such bridge. If the return is to Allah, without going to that Allah, without reaching Him, without reaching Him, no one can fall down from that Sirat. That is, there is no such bridge for someone to fall from. That is, for him to go there before his account is settled. There is no such thing. This sirat is a straight path.
The one mentioned in Al-Fatiha. And what did our forefathers say? Don't you ever leave this straight path. Don't leave this sirat al-mustaqim. This is the straight path. If you leave it, you fall into Hell. You go to Hell. Over time, with word games, for 1400-odd years, it became a bridge, a path, sharper than a sword, thinner than a hair — well, that's your tongue: sharper than a sword, thinner than a hair. Otherwise it is not a bridge; it is not a bridge. People have mixed these things up. According to their own minds. And what do they say? He says words that will shake our religious belief. Well, what kind of religious belief is this belief? A false belief.
So the fake master, this master, says the Sirat bridge does not exist. He brings out (?) even more. He proves that he does not know. Of course, everything will prove itself; he will prove what kind of person he is. To whom? To himself, to those around him, and to Allah Almighty. Did you think you would die without proving what kind of people you are, He says.
So what is this? According to the verse: every soul shall taste death, and finally your return is to Me, He says. If that return is to Him, without returning to Him — then Allah Almighty, Ahkam al- Hakimin, the Judge of judges, before He has judged, without going into His presence, how did you fall down?
(?). We really did know it this way. I mean, from before, since my childhood, I too knew it this way. Because that is how we learned it. But once, by our Lord's inspiration, the meanings of the verses were shown, and our Lord kneaded us with that knowledge He calls 've'r-râsihûn', kneading and kneading, and showed me the truths, then I understood. And I am starting to explain it. So let there be no stubbornness. Such matters are not for stubbornness.
What an evil destination is that fire to be reached, He says. What an evil place, what an evil bed. Those who in this worldly life do not know Allah Almighty, who with ideologies outside Islam turn their backs on our Lord, who do not give thanks for His blessings, who turn away from Allah Almighty, as He says in the verse: aduvvallahi and aduvvekum — those He calls your enemies and enemies of Allah. Those who are deceived by their life in this world and exchange the Hereafter for the life of this world. Those who deify their nafs and run after it. Truly, what an evil path as a course. What an evil destination is that fire to be reached.
May Allah protect us from such an end. May Allah Almighty not separate us from the path called sirat al-mustaqim. Yes. So they also interpret the verse aduvvallahi and aduvvekum wrongly. What do they say? Your enemies and those who are Allah's enemies. Allah is no one's enemy. Know this well. If you say an enemy of Allah, that Allah became an enemy, you attribute that to Allah. Did Allah become an enemy (?)? Would Allah be an enemy to what He created? They are enemies to their own selves. They are enemies to Allah. Because they are enemies to Allah, they are enemies to their own selves. According to the verse: it is the recompense of your (?) that you earned.
Those who leave themselves to wrong themselves. Yes.
